Is it possible to swap sdcard0 and sdcard1? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there.
I am using a CM12.1 ROM now, and it's really, really amazing, but I have the problem that the sdcards are switched.
All apps store their files now on the internal storage. Pictures, OBBs, Downloads, everything.
In the 4.2 and 4.4 ROMs, sdcard0 was the external SD, where all the data is saved, and sdcard1 was unused (because I had the ext.).
But now, sdcard0 is the internal, and none of my apps use my 32GB SD (also App2SD doesn't work).
Can I swap the SDs?

[Q] Official android 2.3.6. How do swap sdcard and sd-ext mountpoints?

Just flashed the new 2.3.6 bell, its not as great as CM7, but lets give it a try, can anyone please tell me a way to swamp de SDcard and SD-ext folder mount points, so I can use my 32gb sdcard as the default location for sd data for games, apps and gps maps, Cause it is using the 10gb internal memory , and 10gb of internal memory sucks

[Q] AOKP system can't read external storage

Sorry to repost this question, but I've been banging my head over it for too long! I can access both the internal and external storage through file browsers, but the Android system/apps can't seem to access the external storage. Tried this on CM10, AOKP 10-11, and now AOKP 10-17. Even tried changing from Joker's recovery to TWRP, thinking it had to do with the formatting/mounting. I've tried both SD and EMMC as primary in Option's chooser. Nothing works...
At one pont when going from CM9 to CM10/AOKP I did format /emmc... could that have done something? Also, I notice the new JB mounts the cards to /storage/sdcard0 or sdcard1. If I look in the /mounts folder I see /sdcard (which right now maps to my internal) but no /emmc or any other link to the external storage. Also, when I look in settings-storage, I see the system, "sdcard" (which is internal right now), and "internal storage" (which is my external), but only the first two have details on what types of files (apps/music/pictures/etc). The last partition (my external) is all grey
I've deleted all the .nomedia files, cleared app data in gallery/music/media storage... help!
The storage which u use as a main is called sdcard0 and other well called 1 u should find them in /storage folder not the mount

[Q] external_sd folder And external SD card

Hi all!
I have recently brought an 16GB External SD card for my SGSII, to store my Titanium Backups. I found the external_sd folder in the internal sd card, and thought that it was the External SD card, so i placed all my backups there. But just recently it seems like i have run out of space on the phone, so i can't update some of my apps. I started deleting a lot of photos and videos from my phone and cleared 2.5GB, but i still can't update some of my apps. I began looking through my folders, and noticed that i also have an External SD card partition on my phone. The same one i see when the phone is connected to the pc. In it i can see a Clockwork Recovery folder containing my ROM backups. So i began wondering if the external_sd folder is actually located on the phone and not in the External SD card. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, when i open the Storage (i think that's what it's called) section in the settings on CM10, and noticed that i have 2 Internal Storage sections, one of them has only App data, and the other has photos, apps, music etc. and a SD Card section, with 6.64GB storage left. Does anyone know why is there is 2 Internal Storage sections?
Thank you in advance!

As far as I know the "external_sd" is your removable external SD card. For some inexplicable reason it mounts as a sub-directory from the internal SD card, but it is definitely your removable external SD card.
I have a feeling that Jellybean brings a change and the external SD card mounts in a different way to ICS. I had only a brief experience of this when I played with the leaked ROM but I have reverted to ICS because of battery drain problems.
Your internal memory is partitioned with about 500MB for the system ROM, and 2GB reserved for app installations. Once this fills to around 85-90% you'll begin hitting problems with insufficient storage space errors. If you move apps to SD then this will make use of the data partition of your internal memory (about 12GB available to user on a 16GB device).
I'm running JB (Rootbox 3.2). I set the target path as /extSdCard/Titanium Backup in Preferences for it to work.

So i should move my apps from the App reserved partition to the main storage partition? Or the external SD card? And how do i do that? Sorry for noob questions, i am not too much into how Android works
I don't think you can move apps to external SD card.
Go to settings -> applications and you'll see your apps listed with information about their size. Select one, and you should see a button "Move to SD card". If this is greyed out then the app doesn't support operation from the SD card, but for many you can press the button and it will move the app for you.
The interface in settings isn't the best - I use ZDBox which is a free utility tool available from the Play Store with several useful functions, including an improved "App to SD" UI which makes it easier to see what is going on.
Be careful with widget apps and others that interact with OS functionality as these often don't play happy if moved to SD card.
in your internal memory there is a folder call externel_sd ok leave it coz you still in your internal memory and go search your external sd card memory it named extSdCard or emmc

1st internal is /data, 2nd internal is /storage/sdcard0 (your internal 11GB memory).

Help Understading storage particions on SGS2

I am a bit confused by the storage particions on SGS2 or android. Btw starting on android
In my SGS2 when I go to Settings -> Storage I have 3 types of storage.
I have 2 Internal Storages (one with 1.94GB and other with 11.50GB) and I have my external sd card.
My question is where apps and data are stored? Because I seem to have apps installed in both particions.
And when managing apps I get the option to move to Sd card, but since internal storage is the /sdcard/ (alias to /storage/sdcard0) is there a way to move apps to external sdcard /extSdCard/ (alias to /storage/sdcard1). Just wondering
The /system particion where is located? Because I only have 496MB Total on /system (as Link2SD says) and I have that 1.94GB on one of the Internal Storages. And what is stored on /system?
Trying to understand better the android eco-system
Sorry for my english...

[Q] [HELP] Internal SD won't mount in ROM Port (PICS inside)

First thanks for taking the time to help me out..
Okay, so i have a been trying to port Huawei's EMUI 3.0 4.4.2 Kitkat, the Jiayu G4S and so far everything else works great except I can't seem to mount my internal sd anymore... The Jiayu G4S comes with an internal memory of 16gb of which 4gb is used for apps and 9.6gb is used as the internal sd. So far the ROM appears to have used the 4gb as its internal sd+internal memory for apps and the 9.6gb partition is no where to be seen
In CWM recovery mode, mounting usbstorage/ mounts the 9.6gb with no option to mount the other partition...
I've tried editing the framework-res.apk storage_list.xml to match stock rom but didn't work..Any way, below are pics of the partition table? as it currently stands..
the 9.6gb is the one am trying to mount:
port's storage-list.xml
stock storage-list.xml
opening sdcard1 shows a blank page and emulated shows two folders
1. folder '0' (opens the 4gb partition)
2. folder 'legacy'( still opens the 4gb partition)
mmcblk07 is currently serving as the sdcard0...internal storage and internal sd. Another thing to note is that while the 4gb partition is ext4, the 9.6 one is fat32.
So what am i trying to achieve, to set the 9.6gb partition ( mmblk0p8) as my default Internal SD and the mmblk0p7 as the internal storage for apps and nothing else..just like in the KitKat stock rom.
All help is greatly appreciated..Thanks..
bump?
anyone?
SOLVED IT!!!
okay so after a really steep learning curve i managed to do it by replacing everything in my ported boot.img's init.ssd with that of the stock's init.no_ssd.rc
Mod can safely close this thread...
