Archos 80 g9 wont charge if powered off - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
My Archos 80 g9 tablet wont stay on. Firstly it hasnt used for months. (1 .I put it to charge and green light started blinking, after some minutes it stopped and remains steady then it powers on. When just on Android, charging lvl says : Charged,...then in a sec,....connect charger. then starts shutting down and displays an message "CAUTION: Device wont charge if powered off"==>Powers off, Green light is off .1) . When i remove and plug in charger again does the same thing in (1).................THANK YOU.

This is from the online user manual : Note the over discharged paragraph. Hope this helps ! After the charging indicator's blinking, let your tablet charging for few hours.
IMPORTANT: When the battery is completely empty and you plug in your device,
- The charging indicator light will turn on then start to blink within few seconds. The indicator light blinking rapidly means that the device is charging but does not yet have enough power to start. This charging when off may take some time. Once the device has charged enough to start, it will switch on and display the ARCHOS boot logo. You can use the device whilst charging.
- If the charging indicator does not blink after few seconds, it could mean that the battery is over discharged.
1. Plug out the power supply.
2. Press 10 seconds on the On/Off button for a hardware reset.
3. Plug in the tablet to the power supply.
After a certain period (few minutes or one hour), the charging indicator starts blinking.

I have tried to let it charge for more than 1 hour and it does the same loop, again and again, like :charge for 2mins , power on, powers off, and recharges again and again. Also I have tried the 10sec reset too.
Thank You

[Q] First time use - Won't power on?

Just got my prime, plug it in to the wall charger, and it flashed on for a second and showed a red battery icon and then the screen turned off.
I've had it charging for close to an hour now, and it won't turn on.
When plugged in to the wall, i have an amber light on the power button. Tapping power, or holding it down for 10,20,30 seconds doesn't do much, but the amber light will blink a few time.
If unplugged from wall, nothing at all. No light or power.
Am I just being too anxious and it needs to charge for 8 hours before it will even boot up or what?
I plan on letting it charge for 8 hr, but figured I could turn it on and check it out while attached to the power outlet.
What has/was your experience?
Thanks!

That's normal.just leave it plugged in for an hour or two then try again.
Thanks - was able to get it to power on - just showed the battery screen again and shut off. So I just need to chill and let it charge.

[XP] Phone won't start (dead?)

hi, i'm unable to start my phone. all of a sudden it turned off while being on charger.
The LED now lights dim red (if on charger) and does nothing. Pressing any side buttons do nothing, just the led still lights dim red. Plugging off charger cable doesn't make any difference just the LED turns off.
Can this be due to battery not charging? It has power off shortly ago due full discharge. I plugged in charger, phone turned on for a while indicating charging by LED bright red. Phone was awake about several minutes, then this sudden die.
Any help is highly apreciated.
have you already long pressed the power button until the phone vibrates?
It was solved! The phone kicked in 30 minutes after, now behaves normal.
Anyway curious why the phone didn't start so long. Tho discharged it had power supply.
I replaced battery recently, so maybe a bad contact or the cord dropped out?

[Q] Does not start after reboot sequence

Hey guys,
I was about to repair my Z2 tablet because of a broken screen. I did the Power+Volup trickt to reboot the tablet, it went off but I could not start it up again. Battery was full at that time. As I removed the screen anyways, I could do some tests:
1) If charger inserted, nothing happens, no red light nothing. Also I measured the wattage of my charger and 0 Watts is shown, so tablet is not consuming any power
2) When removing battery from systemboard and connecting charger it consumes about 2 watts and red light blinks one time - however, still not able to turn it on.
Any idea what this could be? I have the feeling that the system board thinks the battery is dead, but it really is not. I also read the other threats about waiting for battery to be drained but I'm wondering whether there is another option ..
Thanks

have you tried holding down the reset button for about two minutes?
Thanks for your reply! I tried, but unfortunately nothing happens :\ I cannot image that I have broken the device by removing the screen. It was fully ok until I executed Power+Vol Up reset mechanism.
Guys,
just wanted to let you know that after 2d the device got back to life. Not startable at first, but when connecting charger it was charging again and after some time startable.. Still, cannot image that the battery got down so fast from nearly 100% to 0%
Anyways, thanks for your help.

Multiple charging issues, charging light stays green, reset not working

My wife has a Z4 LTE tablet she bought a little over a year ago that has been working great until the past 24 hours. She was using it as the battery was drawing near zero, but instead of it throwing the normal warning at 5% battery life it just shut down on her. She plugged it in to charge, and 15 hours later it wasn't turning on.
Here's what we've tried:
* Removing the SIM card and the SD card, disconnecting the USB charging cable, and holding down Vol +/- and power button. No vibrations.
* Holding Vol + while connecting the USB cable to a laptop USB 3.0 port. Charging indicator light turns blue. Let it sit for an hour, disconnected USB, system immediately turned off. Pressed the power button. Nothing happened.
* Not hold anything down, plug the USB charger into the stock Sony wall-charger (U.S. market) that came with the tablet. Light turns red for 1 second, green for 1 second, turns off for 1 second, flashes red, then turns green. Let sit for an hour. Press the power button. Nothing happens.
When connected to the laptop, with the charging light Blue, ADB found no connected devices. Tried again with the charging light green. ADB still found no devices.
Frustrated, we disconnected it for everything and let it sit for two hours not connected to anything. My wife tried to turn it on, and we got it to boot! It had 5% battery remaining. Every cable we connected to it, whether to a wall charger or to a laptop, triggered a USB warning notification stating that the USB needed to be connected to a charger, but this notification was immediately replaced with the low battery warning notification before we could click on it to attempt to take any action, if any actions were even available. Hoping for the best, while it was on and now with 3% batter remaining, I tried holding down the Vol +/- buttons and power button again hoping to trigger a device reset.
Now it's back to not booting, and the power indicator light again did the red, green, off, red, green cycle.
We're well outside warranty on this one, and with no cosmetic damage I'm hesitant to try to dismantle it if I can avoid doing so.
I've scanned all the other threads and couldn't find any similar issues, so I turn to you. Any advice would be most appreciated. Any advice that leads to my wife getting her primary computing device back in full operations mode is even more appreciated.

Help!! Problem with my battery.

Sorry for the English, is google translate.
Hi, I need your help, recently my m4 stopped recognizing the battery, it marks me that it has 0% and when I connect it to the power, it does not turn on the led nor does it mark me that it is charging, if I turn it on while it is off, Lights a few seconds together with the sony logo screen and then goes off and starts an endless cycle until the battery is fully discharged, once it is completely discharged, I disconnect it to reconnect it and it shows me on the screen that the battery is low And the led stays on. Once the battery has enough charge to turn on the phone, it does the same, the computer turns on the sony logo and goes off, however, when I disconnect the charger and turn on the computer, I can use it normally even if it indicates that The battery has 0%, the battery charges with the phone on, but it does not recognize me that it is charging, it does not turn on the led ...
In the pc, it allows me to start the computer in fastboot mode, already use pc companion and flashtool, but still the same, I would like to know that this problem is due, thanks ...
Hold volume down and power button for 15 seconds
