Root Method:
The root script for Qualcom Chip is used using the method provided by www.wikoandco.com in their post.
Steps:
1. Download and Install the USB drivers first for your Noir Z8 or Z8 Plus.
2. Enable USB debugging in your phone from Settings > Developer Options.
3. Download the Auto root script from here and extract it in a folder on your PC.

4. Connect your phone through USB cable.
5. Browse to the folder where you extracted the Auto root script and run the “Root Wiko Ridge.BAT” file.
6. Press any key to continue
7. Follow the on screen instructions and your phone will reboot automatically and after it reboots you will have a Rooted Qmobile Noir Z8/Z8Plus
TeamWin Recovery:
Teamwin recovery is same as the clockworkmod recovery. It is just different in interfacing as the teamwin project is based on touchscreen so you no longer need to use the recovery through volume buttons. But yes the clockwordmod backups doesnt work on teamwin and same teamwin backups dont work on clockwordmod.
Steps:
1. Download and install flashify from playstore.
2. Download recovery zip from here and extract it on your PC.
Z8 Recovery :
Code:
https://mega.nz/#!yV5WRTqY!ucQq5bD0pRRUwnNodPp7Kz4h0kPh2Hf6aKom5Wvq_08
Z8 Plus Recovery :
Code:
https://mega.nz/#!OBZn0SZY!m6lN-ooUGE_dfPlTRmYWMUXPEmNyticY67vofARjrCw
3. Place the file into your phone’s SD card.
4. Run flashify and recovery update option.
5. Select recovery.img from your SD card and your phone will be updated with a new recovery.
6. Method is tested so dont worry it wont brick your phone.

This method worked on QMobile Z8 Stock ROM KitKat which comes with new phone. But I flashed Lollipop Factory Firmware v5.0.2 using QFIL. Now, this method of rooting no more works. We can't boot into custom recovery. Device is automatically rebooted and custom recovery is replaced by stock one or just a blank screen appeared whenever tried to boot into recovery. I have tried almost everything possible. After flashing twrp from fastboot, tried to boot into recovery instead of normal fastboot reboot. Also replaced stock recovery file with twrp recovery file in firmware before flashing with QFIL. Manually unlocked bootloader through fastboot. But all in vain! Neither device is rooted without permanently flashing custom recovery. Nor custom recovery is permanently flashed without rooting. Result is same in each case. Any advice?
Can this new factory firmware QMobileZ8_MP_5.0_QMB_PK_06 be converted to flashable zip ignoring recovery.img?
Or twrp version needs to be replaced?
Edit: KingRoot works on 5.0.2 but still no compatible custom recovery found.

Basically, there are 3 types of flash method for K900
SDFUSE
OTA Recovery
MFT (Manufacturing Flash Tool)
There is a lot of question, asking about why same version of VIBEROM_V1.0_1411_ST_K900 have so many method of flashing.
There are too many information from the general thread. so I create new thread here for beginner to understand more about flashing.
From my understanding, there are only one version ROM (eg. VIBEROM_V1.0_1411_ST_K900).
But there are a few format for different flashing method.
1) SDFUSE
This format usually flash by create sdfuse folder in internal SD. Normally for update ROM
Copy files system.img.gz, boot.bin, dnx_firmware.bin, etc. (or .inb file which is the one and only one file) into sdfuse folder.
Shutdown and boot up by pressing power + volume up for couple of seconds
select SDUpdate and press power to start.
After done select power off, then power on again. (direct reboot may cause boot loop)
2) OTA Recovery
The format of rom is in ZIP. The zip is signed and there will be checksum (SHA1 and MD5) during flash. so the zip is unable to modified before flashing.
this method normally for update ROM too.
Copy update.zip file into sd card (recommended is at root of SDCard) and shutdown.
Boot up by pressing power + volume up for couple of seconds, then select recovery.
wipe data / Factory reset and wipe cache partition ( optional, which will wipe all data in sdcard)
apply update from internal storage and select update.zip
system will reboot after done.
This does not works for me to upgrade to 4.3 where I am on Qubex Vibe ROM v4.
But there are a lot of K900 user able to flash original Vibe ROM v7 and follow the above method and upgrade successfully.
Refer this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51069544&postcount=3142 or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51128922&postcount=3199
if you are using official Vibe Rom v7. There are a easier way to flash.
copy the downloaded OTA zip file into SD Card.
Go to System upgrade, swipe left get menu, and select tools.
Touch Install specified update package and browse for OTA Zip file in sd card.
Touch install Now.
3) MFT
This method require computer with driver and software installed and USB cable for sure.
Refer this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51162040&postcount=3245
I got this method successfully when I am on non-official Vibe rom.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks to Onesjy at lenovo forum.

Edited:
From my experience, the MFT method is always succeed.

MFT
i know how to use it but where can i find Manufacturing Flash Tool 6.0.2??
As far reported to me by QuBeX the ADB mode is not working on that device... I guess for the issue we have with MFT, it is the only solution we can look for also because I haven't forum (and have to open it) a thread where to speak about the recovery of a stock ROM.
About the Method N.3, most of the compatibility issues are related to the OS you are working on.
For the Settings you have to apply what you see below...

Hi,
can you please reupload the FILE
We need:
Axon7Toolkit
Recovery Stock
B9 ROM
1- Have OEM unlocking and USB debugging enabled in developer options.
2- Download and install the Axon7Toolkit.
3-Download the recovery stok and put it in the twrp folder of Axon7Toolkit.
3- Put the update.zip of the b9 on the memory card.
Run the Axon7Toolkit and choose option 11. We follow the steps that shows us on the screen so that we have to select the recovery.
We choose the recovery stock that we downloaded before and we give to accept, when it finishes and we will have the recovery stok again in our terminal.
We close the Axon7Toolkit and go to our terminal. Now we go into the recovery stock and go to "apply update from SD card" and choose the update.zip that we downloaded previously and installed it.
When you start the phone, you can configure it to reach the main screen.
Open the Axon7Toolkit again, select option 7 and follow the steps.
When you restart the phone you will have the bootloader closed again.

I have and failed miserably. I couldn't lock it on three different versions of Nougat or Oreo. Everytime I boot to fastboot the phone just boots into system..
Flash stock full EDL MM and you can lock the bootloader with a7tool.
Hello, I've recently acquired this Infinix Hot 10 device, now I want to root it. I searched on Google and found some links that suggest I can (on getdroidtips) and some that suggest I can't (on newsvivs). I would share the links but I can't post links due to having a new account.
I want to know the opinions of the forum members here on these sites and whether anyone has this device and has successfully rooted it before. I also want to know if this will erase all my data. If you have any trusted rooting guides for this device please share them.
Thank you.
If you as 1st step could successfully unlock phone's bootloader, then as 2nd step you could install a Custom Recovery like TWRP suitable to the phone, then finally as 3rd step it should be possible to root phone's XOS 6.0 ( based on Android 10 ) by means of TWRP.

I can unlock the bootloader. But how do I install TWRP afterwards? Do I need a special build for the phone or is the process generic from there? If it's generic could you send me a guide?

It doesn't have a custom recovery. When I try to go to recovery manually (Vol UP + Power) it gives a black screen instantly on boot, then continues boot looping when I take my fingers off the buttons.
ADB and Fastbook fail to connect to the device in its various stages of bootlooping so I can't switch to fastboot mode.
SPFlash can't flash it, keeps giving errors. Either when it reboots during a flash attempt or it gives an authentication key error. Apparently I need an auth key to flash this device? Even though I'm using the original ROM.

As above mentioned TWRP must match phone's specs ( Android OS, etc.pp ). In case there isn't a pre-build one for your phone you can try to ask TWRP-developers to build it for you by means of TWRP Builder app.

TWRP - 3.5.2
--Your warranty is now void--
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. It's a full touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
TWRP built for the Blu Vivo 8L, Gionee A1 Lite and clones. It should work fine, but using it is a try at your own risk procedure. Your bootloader must be unlocked to use this recovery. Fastboot mode or SP Flash Tool is used to flash or boot this recovery.
TAKE A BACKUP OF IMPORTANT DATA!
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
USING ADB FASTBOOT:
Turn on developer mode and allow bootloader to be unlocked.
Reboot to recovery by turning off the phone and pressing Power button + Volume Up
Select reboot to bootloader.
It it show as fastboot mode on screen.
Now connect phone to PC through USB. (make sure adb and required drivers are installed!)
Now open a terminal and type this command [B]fastboot flash recovery twrp.img[/B]
Now flash patched boot.img fastboot flash boot patched.img (without this phone will not boot up!)
Shut down your phone.adb shell reboot -p
Go to recovery, again Power + Volume Up.
Voila! You have a custom recovery!
NOTE: OPEN THE TERMINAL WHERE THE TWRP AND PATCHED IMG FILES ARE LOCATED!
ALTERNATE METHOD (RECOMMENDED BY ME)
USING SP FLASH TOOL
Download and open SP Flash tools
Select the MT6753 scatter.txt (Download link below)
Select recovery and boot to be flashed.
Select the appropriate .img files. (twrp.img for recovery and boot.img for patched.img for boot)
Shut down your phone and hit the download button! Wait for the 'Download ok' screen.
Reboot to recovery by pressing Power button + Volume Up
A FEW NOTES:
>>Internal memory may be shown as 0mb in TWRP. Don't panic. Go to wipe and Format data. Now sideload Zackptg5's force encrypt disabler
[Deprecated] Universal DM-Verity, ForceEncrypt, Disk Quota Disabler [11/2/2020]
Hi all! For the past couple of months, I've been looking into making a more universal solution to disable dm-verity and forceencrypt. Needing to take different zips, modify them for different devices, and then cross your fingers when you switch...
forum.xda-developers.com
All instructions in the above thread. If the above zip is not flashed, again your phone will be encrypted. On TWRP booting for the first time a password will be asked, just click cancel!
>>After completing all the steps, upon rebooting your phone, you may also install Magisk v23 apk to root your phone.
DOWNLOAD LINKS:
>> patched.img
>> twrp.img
>> MT6753 scatter
This custom recovery is also applicable to Qmobile Noir A1 Lite among other clones.

Just follow the SP FLASH TOOL method. No need to mess with the bootloader. I gues we won't have custom ROMs for our devices, since the kernel source is not available anywhere. For now, jst follow to SP Flash method.
