[Q] Weird problem with Micro SD Card - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody!
I have a weird problem with the external sdcard in my phone. Suddenly, my phone stops to recognize my external memory. When I insert the memory card and turn the cellphone on happens the same when you clean dalvik cache, at the end, the phone is freezed (sometimes doesnt even recognize the sim card), restarts and again, the same cycle.
When I switch memory cards with another phone, both works very well and with no issues at all. The problem is just with my phone and only with that memory card. Here are the tests I already did:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 international.
Phone using a custom ROM (Cyanogenmod 12.1, stock kernel)
Phone using custom ROM [5.1.1_r6][FULL-O3][i9300] RESURRECTION REMIX 5.5.1[CM12.1][OPTIMIZED]
Phone using original ROM flashed with Odin (Jelly bean 4.3, stock kernel)
Phone flashed using TWRP and CMW.
Memory card formatted in Windows (FAT32 and exFAT)
A log from CMW says: "Can't partition non mmcblk device: /devices/platform/s3c-sdchi.2/mmc_host/mmc1", no idea what it means.
Maybe something is wrong in the very core of my phone, not sure if when I installed original ROM with Odin is really like the phone came out of the factory.
Any ideas about what to do next? I'm sure the most simple thing is to drop the memory card to the garbage, but as it works in Windows and other phones, is something I want to solve.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] After flashing CM7 - SD Card inaccessible

[email protected]!
Today I decided to flash CM7 onto my SGS2. I had the Stock Samsung 2.3.4 Rom with CF-Root Kernel on it. After flashing through CWM I got stuck at the boot logo, but I was able to re-flash it properly through CWM. But now, I can't access the inserted 8GB SD Card (except for Root explorer). So I reflashed CM7, but that didn't solve the SD Card problem. I asked Google what to do, but most of the solutions posted in forums etc. are for other devices (e.g. HTC Devices). I already picked up some key words like "emmc" or something like that, but I don't know if this has something to do with this problem. I am experienced with flashing (Galaxy 3 i5800, Galaxy S i9000) and it's possible dangers, but I've never encountered something similiar to this problem.
So, is there a possibility to fix things back to normal? I can access the internal and external SD card with my PC/Laptop and Root Explorer, and all the Files are still there and neither seem to be damaged nor corrupted.
Yours, BlackWire
Edit: I tried the following Cyanogenmod 7 External Sd Card problem, but still I can't access the SD Card with the OI File Manager (i don't know what it's called in english) or other apps.
Edit2: I can't even flash another ROM through CWM, as I can't access the external SD Card!

[Q] Internal SD card appears to have died

Hi All
I have searched the forums for an answer to this, to no avail. Its not an easy problem to search, but apologies if this has been previously discussed..
After some years of owning and flashing various android phones I have suddenly come completely unstuck. I am not sure what has happened, but I suspect that my internal storage has died. No matter what Rom I load (including returning to stock flashed via Odin) I cannot see the phone's internal storage (i.e. the memory that used to appear as "internal USB" or similar). Instead, the "SD card" is being emulated under the folder "0" in the phone's main storage... I am unsure what is happening here.
This happened after flashing the latest version of Omega Rom (v44). Everything went completely fine as usual, I have no idea why this happened. When I rebooted the Rom had installed but internal storage was missing as described above. For some reason the AOKP elements of the Rom are not present, but the system does seem to work.
I have inserted an external SD card to see if the phone would just use that. No effect. It still appears to be "emulating" the external SD card.
I am not sure where to go from here. I can accept that my internal storage is dead. However, as described above inserting an external SD card still doesn't seem to allow the phone to work normally. It is still trying to emulate the SD card in the phone memory, even on a stock rom. On custom roms this seems to stop the AOKP element from working and I end up with some kind of half way house of custom rom and stock Samsung stuff... its bizarre!
Any help or even just thoughts as to what is going on here greatly appreciated.
I remember that in CM roms there is an issue with the 0 folder thing, but not familiar with it. Maybe someone with more experience could recommend you some action steps.
In case you could always try a full wipe (mega wipe) as it includes your sd card (internal) and leaves nothing on the phone. This will enable you to start from scratch (have a flashable rom on your external SD though).

[Help] Cannot see SD Card in Aroma ROM

Hi, I have recently flashed an Ace GT-S5839i with Ace-i-Sure ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258319 and so far love it, the only problem I have is accessing the SD card.
When the phone boots it says it is scanning, however within Phone Storage it is all greyed out and cannot be mounted. I can access it through recovery, and tried putting it in a Galaxy S3 and formatting to see if that would sort it but no joy.
Is there anything obvious I could have missed, or need to add/configure for Aroma to see it? I can get another card to try but as it shows up on the S3 and in recovery I assumed the card itself is fine.
Thanks for any help :highfive:

Help needed in recovering Internal Memory data!

Hello guys,
I was using DorimanX v 119 10 series along with Slim Saber 08/24 release, then yesterday when the battery was around 18% it turned off randomly.
When I turned it on, I saw I was not getting options for Dual Boot and it took me straight to Primary ROM where it showed a message Internal Memory Damaged, format it on the notification bar.
Tried opening Titanium Backup and other apps to backup but SDCARD0(internal storage) was not mounted anywhere.
Restarted the phone and now its getting stuck on DorimanX logo.
Tried mounting from recovery and doesn't seem to work..
Is there anyway possible to recover my data? There are lots of information and photos that I need in that internal memory
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
had that happen to me more than once on kitkat.
are you able to mount usb in recovery?
tried this?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
i went back to my jellybean backup and copied everything over to my computer.
I would be interested to hear how you are doing on this?
I recently had a crash on my S2 with the same version of DorimanX.
Had you repartitioned?
Thanks for your input guys.
@rgomia, the internal memory still shows corrupted and not able to read from it even from Aroma file manager
Actually I tried flashing slimsaber again and I could boot but still the internal memorys not readable from any file manager. Looks like I'll have to repartition it.
Was looking to somehow recover those lost data, but doesn't look like there's a chance
Reformatting worked and everything back to normal, Since I'm gonna get Redmi 1S anyway, I'll stay on slim kernal and use this as a backup phone. 5 years of important data and photos lost in the process :/
If your phone is bootable you should just mount it on your PC and run a file recovery program.
Your pictures are usually stored on your primary SD card.
