Wipe cache and dalvik cache from recovery and then flash Boeffla kernel 7.6.

Try Xposed framework with DS battery saver. With the normal setting my battery depends on screen time only. Without screen time battery lasts for days.
Another good xposed module for s3 is Wanam.

Wipe cache and dalvik cache won't delete my thing right?

I already got xposed installer.. How to get xposed framework?

No it won't. Wipe caches but make sure u don't wipe data

Just cache and dalvik cache eh? No factory reset right? That make my phone battery not draining fast?

@Pixelzack: read the basics, please. If you aren't sure about wiping, forget xposed. High chance to mess up your phone.

Yeah.. Wont do the xposed thing.. How to know what kernel I have now?
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app

@Pixelzack: settings ..info. And you get for either AOSP- and TW-ROMs Boeffla kernels. So if you understand the basics, you can vary in BoefflaConfig app simply governors and profiles.

So what you mean about the AOSP(Google Code Based) thing is my device is compatible with what kernel and kernel version right?
Like this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/index-kernels-gt-i9300-t2317897
The rom I using now is http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-s5-sensation-rom-v3-1-t2759425
and it is based on http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/i9300-to-n00t-bring-lte-fun-to-3g-t2886574
When I install the S5 Sensation Rom it gave me option to select Arter's kernel or Boeffla.. Then I pick Boeffla

@Pixelzack: your ROM is Touchwiz-based. If you choose Boeffla kernel during installation, you still need to install Config app. Links to kernels and app here.
(Of course also TW-ROMs are AOSP-based, but I used AOSP for 'not TW'.)

NAMELESS EC09 Kernel v1.1b Final
Credits: me, and nemesis2all (info, tools, etc) thanks!
--
This kernel is based off of the EC09 leaked kernel with a repacked initramfs. Basically what it does is take the stock kernel and repackage it with some things we want. Thought I would throw something out to play with today, this will probably see a few more versions after user testing. Flash in CWM recovery.
--
Features:
EXT4 Mounting Support
CIFS Module (untested)
TUN Module (untested)
init.d script support - works!
DBDATA/DATADATA symlink (restores usage of the original directory, fixes common script problems like fix_permissions)
FOTA & PREINSTALL rework - "Extra storage support" (find /extstorage1 & /extstorage2 in root, free internal user storage for saving files)
Reworked init files
SU/root (2.3.6.3 efgh + Latest Superuser.apk) automatically installed
Busybox (1.19) automatically installed
fix_permissions (2.04) automatically installed
Custom error detection script written by me, which scans the phone on boot for missing directories or files that cause common force closes, and fixes them, this happens every boot! never lose!
Custom init.d script with options to control the automatic install of root/busybox/fix_permissions, change values to stop function, but even if you delete the entire file, it will be restored on boot! never lose!
SD read speed tweak built-it
Kernel performance tweaks built-in

Version 1.1b:
This version can and should be flashed over all other versions.

Should since that kernel is just providing ext4 support, not actually reformatting. A workaround for losing wifi after running ext4 formatter is to wipe data/factory reset. Thanks to killa for telling me about the work around.
Can this be used with stock ECO9?
Will it allow cwm recovery to stay accessible? (rooted of course)

Should, has correct permissions set. This was a precursor for the formatter, releasing that today also. With the new version there won't be that issue any more.

Just in case there might be some confusion, the wipe data/factory reset workaround has to be done immediately after flashing the formatter and before flashing the rom/kernel. Or at least that is how it always worked for me. Thanks for the mention nemesis.

As long as it is a TouchWiz Gingerbread ROM, it should work. Don't try on MIUI, CM7, or some AOSP GB ROM; that wouldn't work right.

[Q] Question about Beans Build 2 VZW Rom

Hey guys, I just rooted and flashed the Jelly Beans Build 2 ROM on my GS4. I noticed the new features like the Wifi and hotspot toggles but then as soon as I backed up my apps using titanium back up, they disappeared. Also, I noticed ALOT of bloat was still on the device although I was told that there's supposed to be little to no bloat on the ROM. Lastly, I've been hearing superb things about the battery life but my battery life isn't as good as when the phone was stock. Did something go wrong when I flashed this rom? I also flashed faux kernel with it. I'm thinking that the backup messed up certain things in the ROM and also backed up my bloat from my stock ROM. Could this be true? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you factory wipe your phone before installing? I usually do it 3 times before installing a ROM.
Also, did you restore TiBu apps AND system apps? Backing-up your apps [with TiBu] should have no affect on how your system works, at all. It does nothing to change your system (think of it as reading-only).
I use KT's kernel using the recommended settings and I get about 5-6 hours non-wifi OST with this ROM. And about 1.5-2 days of use.
Reflash and retry. Or try a different ROM and/or kernel.

You have to do a full factory wipe, not just cache and dalvik, before installing a new ROM. No need to back up system data, unless you are certainly restoring to the same ROM; restoring system data only leads to problems.

How do I overclock Jellybeanrom V8

Hello all!
New to the forum here! Well kind of... Ive been lurking around for about 2 years now but I never really found a reason to sign up sinceI found answers to all my queations. But now i am having trouble with overclocking jellybeanrom v8. Im coming from CM 10.1 nightlies and in CM I just go to settings - performance and overclock. But in v8 I found no similar option so i downloaded SetCpu and the highest I could go was 1000mhz. I tried using both A1 and Yoda kernel but still no luck. Am i doing something wrong here? Thanks in advance! Also, a big thanks to tolda and all the other Tab 10.1 devs!!! If it weren't for yall, my tab would be a slow $500 paper weight lol
In setcpu, you should be able to set it to 1.2 or 1.4 GHz. Can you attach a screenshot of setcpu and settings -> about? And you're sure you're using A1 or Yoda? Not stock kernel?

Yes, I've also tried using latest version of A1, and I have also done Wipe data, cache, and dalvik. I know I don't need to when changing kernels, but i tried anyways and still didn't work. I did notice this one thing, after CWM recovery installs the kernel it asks me, "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? And then I have the options to choose No, Yes - disable recovery flash, and Go Back. I always chose No. Could this be it? Also, I've attached screenshots as requested.

The cwm thing is nothing. It asks you because it thinks that you are flashing a new recovery. Saying yes or no doesn't affect anything.
Now that is weird, can you download the app 'CPU Spy Reborn' and screenshot to me that page? Because that app shows you the CPU frequency range.

I'm running this Rooted with Civ's Kernel @ 1,800 MHz .. and it's PERFECTION..
You can freeze any of Touchwiz/Samsung bloat apps you don't want.. Install any of the cool apps requiring root but, still have full functionality of the S-Pen ( and all S-Pen Apps/Gestures etc ) and keep the cool apps like IR Blaster, Muti-View etc.. and be 100% Rock Stable with EVERYTHING working... Like a Stock ROM Should be.....

Wireless n functionality with this rom in the us?
Does anyone know if this rom will have the full wireless n ability? I did root and install civ's and lost my wireless n. I have also read through some of the threads about 5ghz and changing a few things in the etc file and they have not worked for me.

[ROM]Stock ZV4 Base Odex & Deodex

Stock ZV4 Base RomThis is just a base Stock Rom to flash in Recovery. This should save you from Flashtool.
Anyone can use this as a base. All I ask is credit for the base Rom
Additional info:
Odexed - O and Deodexed - D
I added busybox to this.
Also folder for data, no worries for now
V1 Odexed - It is rooted, but you still need to add SuperSU from the Playstore.
V2 Odexed and V1 Deodexed have Root installed
No kernel is installed yet - but I'm working on that. Stock shouldn't require Bump.
BACKUP YOUR EFS FIRST!!! it's in the FAQ.
Reinstall the ROM before trying what's written below this. It's worked multiple times now - Sprint bloat should download while setup or on reboot.
If all the Sprint crap doesn't dl when you set it up, you'll need to do ##UPDATE# in the dialer. It'll reboot then start dl'ing Sprint stuff
Install:
In recovery, Wipe /system, /data, /cache, and /dalvic. So in TWRP, select Wipe, then Advanced, and check those 4. DO NOT select Internal Storage or ext SD!!
Flash the zip
Profit!!
Downloads:

Yup. I like to have an easy way to get back to stock.
It still needs some sprucing up which I'll get to in the next few weeks. Life :silly:
Been also trying to build but just can't get the damn thing to boot. New at lg devices so still reading to find out what the hell I'm missing. Good work.

##RTN# will fix it but you'll need your MSL. There could be another way but that's all I got for ya.

My wifi calling is working fine on all three of these Roms.
BUT, I flashed each ROM at least twice yesterday and everything went smooth. But today, none of them are dl'ing the Sprint crap. Wifi calling still works though.
I just added this to the OP earlier, but probably try ##UPDATE# in the dialer and see if that works,
Also, make sure you have an actual address and it says location found or something like that. And also make sure your commas are in the right place.

Odd question, but are we able to uninstall BS apps and bloatware or is it super duper stock with root?

Factory stock with root. If someone else doesn't make a slimmed one I will shortly.
You can remove apps from the zip if you know which apps are safe. Use 7zip.
I've noticed my system storage is at a whopping 9.42gb with only 21gb available, is that normal?

That's not /system. It's only 2gigs. That's /data so check TWRP folder. I bet it's at least 3-5 gigs depending.
Edit. /system is actually 2.8 gigs
