I got issues with wifi on my Padfone X:
- it can not recognize my home wifi although other phone, tablet... connected.
- it can recognize and connect wifi at my office, coffee shop... and also wifi from other phone.
- my wifi router at home was reset & changed name but it can not be fixed.
Please help me.
Thanks

Hallo everyone,
on Friday I bought a new Folio 100. Unfortunately it seems that the Wi-Fi doesn't work: the tablet connects itself only after I turn off and on my wireless routing.
If I disconnect the tablet (or the connection is lost) and then I try to connect it again, I have no chances The Wi-Fi connection cannot be established. Same if I turn on the Folio and try to connect it without a previous off-on of the router.
I have a WEP 64 Bit encryption. I tried to change it to WPA-TSK but the problem remain the same. I tried to connect to my Galaxy S using WPS2-PSK no way. The folio connects itself only after a restart of the router or with not protected nets.
I tried to install the Dexter mod 1.3a, with no results. Now I have the original FW 2.2.5.0053 back on (and the problem remains).
There is something I do wrong or I can still try or the tablet is definitely defective?
Please help me!
Thanks a lot in advance!!
Paolo
I had a similar problem: my WiFi network was seen as out of range by the tablet WiFi manager. And whenever I put the Folio in sleep mode, it lost the connection.
So, I changed the WiFi policy (in WiFi advanced settings: press menu button when on the WiFi configuration page, and choose advanced settings) to never turn off.
The tablet still has some difficulties to catch the network at startup (usually, I have to wait like 2 minutes), but now it keeps it.
Hope it helps...
Hello SinDeus,
thanks a lot for your advice, I've already tried this setting, but in my bedroom I've a bad signal and from time to time the connection get lost... and you can understand that it is really annoying to stand uphalf asleep to reset the modem. )
Anyway for the moment I've solved the problem exchanging my Belkin modem with a Zyxel of a friend of mine. The connection process is still quite slow, but at least it works without requiring a router restart.
Bye Paolo.
mine still not working...keeps on connecting/disconnecting......giving up soon...btw am using foliomod 1.3...even before when am using the stock rom..its so freaking hard to connect to my belkin router...only a few times tht i successfully get connected...help please!!!!
Hallo Neworder,
I had to exchange my router, the only way I was able to conect with belkin was restarting it.
I've also tried with static IP adress and changing the encoding type (WEP, WAP-TSK etc.) but the results was always the same. Even with the new modem the process isn't that smooth!
Quite annoying.
Sorry that I can't help you further.
the thing is if am connecting the folio to wifi connections in cafes/shops/eateries,no problem...fast and painless.
time to change modem router?
btw pademat which model of belkin u r using?am using a belkin 54g.
and ur new modem?zyxel which model?
my x10 (android 2.3.3, previously 2.1) refuses to connect to my home's wifi. i will click connect, and it will say 'connecting...' stay like that for a while, and then eventually will appear 'disconnected'. i don't believe it is the router, as the following things in my household connect to the wifi effortlessly:
- my brother's iphone 4
- my HP laptop
- my brother's toshiba laptop
- my 3rd gen. ipod touch
my old dell laptop connected to it, fine, also.
i am able to connect to my university's wifi without any problems, too, so i really don't know why it doesn't seem to like my home wifi. i have tried 'forgetting' the network, re-entering the password, i've done a hard reset, i've taken the battery out and put it in back in. there is no avail.
does anyone have a clue of what could be causing this?

Restart your router, turn it off for about roughly 10 seconds, and also you might want to check if there is an IP limit to your router. Or simply try inputting the IP settings manually if either of those fail.
Try updating your routers firmware.
My x10 is a funny beast with wifi as this example shows
At my workplace they use exactly the same model and type of router throughout the building, purchased at the same time. However, due to some of the routers being updated and some not my x10 only picks up the routers with tha latest firware. The others it doesnt even see....
A very strange problem that even my friends in the IT department are confused about, but it goes to show how fickle the x10 is with wifi routers
Hello. I bought htc explorer 2 days ago.. It seems to have some troubles in its wifi. I have a tp-link wireless router. It shows the signals just for a second and then doesn't show the wifi signals of my router. So i can't connect to it. My phone is unrooted. It can connect to other wifi but it doesnot connect to a tp-link router. I have even changed the settings of wifi router and wifi of phone but it still doesn't connect. Can anyone please help me with this matter ?
Hi,
I have recently bought a NATPC M009s with ICS on it. I'm completely new to android!
I'm having problems getting it to connect to wifi at home and wondered if anyone can help.
I have a BT home hub 2, the tablet will see the network and allow me to enter the wifi password but it then sits saying 'saved, secured with WPA' and no matter how many times I press connect it won't. Apart from very occasionally it will connect but there is nothing consistent as to why it suddenly decides to connect!! Other laptops and phones connect to the home hub fine
Things I have tried:
Setting a static IP for tablet on the home hub
Rebooting router and tablet
factory reset on tablet
factory reset on home hub
Downgrading to gingerbread (failed as the instructions on how to do it didn't work!)
Tethering tablet via wifi to my iphone (connects no problem)
Searched forums for previous posts with similar problems - no luck!
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it connecting reliably?

This is really odd, I suggest you try to very temporarily turn off password protection on the WiFi network, just to see if thats what is throwing it off.
WiFi can be an oddball and doesnt confirm to logic.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it and with security off the tablet connected (after 2 attempts - failed to get IP address on the first one).
I then put security back on, it connected once!! It then dropped the connection and won't connect again.
Arrgh! So frustrating.
So does this suggest that the security is the problem.... I don't know.
Any other thoughts?

Sounds like a defective WiFi hardware. You get a too low signal reception and/or transmission, corrupting most of your frames. Try placing it as close to the router as possible and see if there's any change. Or get the unit replaced.
Hi all, i have such problem with my z4 tablet wifi: wifi module doesn't turn on. After flashing some rom's wifi doesn't turn on (mac addr is 02:00:00:and_more_zeroes). But tablet just stay for some month powered off, and yesterday it works perfectly. Mac changer app give it "real" mac and tablet finnaly work. But after restart wifi doesn't work, again. Mac is 02:00:00... and Mac changer don't work. Is it hardware problem? It is hard to find spare parts for tablet in my country. Maybe external wifi adapter will help (have some experience with external wifi adapter on nexus 7 (fun with nethunter))?
