Changing ROM with 'Bootloader unlock allowed: No' - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi,
I want to flash a custom ROM on my Sony Xperia phone, but the bootloader unlock isn't allowed. I know the solution for it, but since unlocking SIM lock would cost at T-Mobile Hungary 15000 Ft (about 48 €), I thought maybe PC Companion can do it, too. (The official Android updates can be applied this way.) So I've selected Repair software in PC Companion. It downloaded some files, the actual software is likely to be here: C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs. Here are (among others) 3 files beginning with 'FILE_', ending with a 9-digit number (they don't heve extensions). I could decrypt them with Flashtool (Tools -> Bundle -> FILESET Decrypt), so they must be the OS installer files, if things like that can be said.
Now, my question is: how could I do this reversed? So, if I have a custom ROM, how can I convert it to a 'FILESET'? If this was possible, PC Companion might be able to flash that ROM on the phone. It would be a much easier way.
I hope this is possible - I'd welcome any ideas you have!

If you mean you want to flash custom ROMs the way FTFs and official sony firmwares are flashed, then you can't do that since these are packaged and signed by sony with a specific key.
Cheers,
AJ

Yes, that seems to be logical. So I only need some inner information from Sony...
Ok, this plan's dropped then. Thanks for the quick answer!

thanks a lot all fixed i was sure u guis can help me,
another question is there any way for me to turn back to official updates and using track id?
Did you even take the time to read the disclamer that Sony Ericsson has on their Developer site?
Known issues
It is currently not possible to unlock the boot loader for CDMA phones.
Some customers with unlocked boot loaders have experienced problems when they are accepting over the air upgrades (FOTA - Firmware upgrade Over The Air). For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades. For additional information, check out the hints and tips from the community on the XDA forum.

That answers the reason you bricked your phone.
And as it has been answered a gazillion times. NO NO NO NO. You CANNOT restore DRM or Track-ID. There are other third party apps that do the same thing.
Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the boot loader. Sony Ericsson can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unsigned custom software being flashed to the phone after the boot loader is unlocked. Certain functions in your phone might cease to work, and performance might not be ideal. You might also damage your phone permanently. In the worst case, unlocking the boot loader will cause physical injuries or material damage, for example, due to the phone overheating.

That includes but is not limited to: Official updates(especially ICS), DRM, Track-ID.
I'd recommend you did some research before unlocking your bootloader. It will save you a lot of time and stress.
no i readed all the disclaimer, fully knowing what i was doing. and the reason i have done the fota upgrade was only a stupid mistake i have pressed ok on the notification of update, becouse is similar with the market notification of updates, and i was only wandering if some genius in here was able to make the inverse process of the drm data thanks a lot for evrything.

Hi, I was always wondering then in such case you only shouldn't use OTA updates or does update through PC Companion would brick the phone as well? Do somebody might know the answer?
no the pc companion wont let you update, but if it dose (wich is impossible i think) it wil do same thing.. so update your phone with <flashtool only
Do you try to reflash with the stock rom??

Wotan Server in no longer free

Too bad Wotan Server is no longer free for flashing.
Firmware Flashing for Sony Ericsson mobile phones is NO longer free. Sorry guys but we spent hundreds of hours and paid 10k+ USD for hosting and caching services in the past year and we are no longer able to offer the free service. Update price is 1.99 EUR
Ah crap...That is not good.
That was currently my only source for stock firmware. Maybe those files, that I have downloaded still work...
Looks like I need to move to Flashtool also then.
Oh no man, damn it T.T where will I download my stock file for my phone...but,I've the downloaded filw for both of my phone in my computer, can I still use it even it is charging people now?
EDIT : WotanServer is now currently under maintenance until Tuesday...

No You cannot flash the already downloaded files as it checks online for credit. Credits have been reduced to 0 from 1 , so it gives error.
Had tried to flash before this post and it was giving error so checked the wotan site and saw the lines in red

Alright, thanks for the info.
Very very bad news but price (1,99EUR) is nothing compared to trash a bricked phone...
I'm not surprised it's not longer free really, considering they were hosting all that data themselves.
Does the Wotanserver client actually do anything that Flashtool or the SE update service can't do?

1 click restore if phone bricked (stock firmware + kernel).
Now you can do it with Flashtool having correct .ftf stock firmware + relocking bootloader manually with s1tool or .ftf locked file.
Why the hell didn't I see this thread, it's my fault...
Now I'm stuck on unrooted .62 firmware. Is there ANY way to go back to .58 without unlocking BL?

You can download the ftf file from this thread.
then flash it using flashtool.
Bootloader unlock is not required to flash stock firmwares.
then root your firmware and the OTA update to .62 and you will have rooted .62

My tutorial, link in signature.
Didn't see it . I'm not a developer , so I do not know is this hard or not , but - I is hard to create just a .img file of a rooted kernel for ROMs that came after .42 ver. ?
Is it me or is Mini/Mini pro/Active section of the forum less organized then the one for Samsung Galaxy series ?
This is why ...

They'll consume the time and resources of others happily, while buying devices for hundreds of dollars. But if you ask them to contribute two bucks for your hundreds of hours of effort, helping them for free for years, they abandon you in a heartbeat.
How about supporting those who support you, eh?

If you are thinking of me while writing this , you are partially right . I would be glad to support developers with more than 2$ from time to time , but I would rather learn a thing or two , or a lot about Unix/Linux/Android + support those who are already spending time in development for the community . I just asked is it hard , didn't ask for someone to do it for me

[Q] Go Back to Stock 2.3.3 from FeraLab ICS V4 (unlocked BL)

Hello all,
First i would like to thank FeraLab for the great ICS V4 ROM work.
I am relatively new to flashing/etc but with some careful reading, i managed to install it on my X10i after unlocking the bootloader.
I've played with ICS v4 for some weeks and i did not find any major problems in any aspect / function of phone (data, wifi, camera, battery, apps, etc).
However, i've decided to go back to the Stock 2.3.3 ROM, and after looking quite enough (search) in the forum i could not find anyone who went back to 2.3.3 stock from ICS V4 with unlocked bootloader. I've looked in the whole ICS V4 thread for this and searching the entire forum.
I could not post a reply in the ICS thread since i have never made any post so far. (i always prefer not to ask anyone before i read enough)
But, in this case, if it is not too much to ask, could you kindly point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
Eros
We can use PC Companion or SEUS to refert to stock, and.... no need to relock the bootloader.

Actually, that was the 1st thing i tried (companion) but for some reason it does not work. It does detect the phone but the
option "repair" phone does not even come up. It only detects it and then reports PC companion needs to be updated
and redirects to the SE website for downloading new SW (which still does not work).
Any ideas? I cannot tell if this issue is due to Unlocked Bootloader or the FeraKernel.
Thanks,
Eros

Updates are region and/or provider dependant.
You can take your chances and flash generic world formware.

I want to do it so i can root my phone, but since I've never done this, I'm a bit insecure and hesitant.
From the research I've done rooting my Xperia P is preferred to be done with the latest firmware which I don't have.
What would you suggest I do? I am completely new to this.

Like before you do anything with your phone, take a full backup with PC Companion, and backup other data it doesn't manually.
Then you will need to download and install flashtool, install the drivers for Xperia P, flash mode, and fastboot mode with the drivers installer from drivers directory under flashtool directory.
Find and download generic 6.2.A.1.100 firmware file and flash it.
Exclude TA when you flash.
I have my firmware uploaded here, it's a two part 7-Zip, archive.
You may look for others that are more sutable for your region.
To root 6.2.A.1.100 use DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.
My phone is acting really crazy and I can't do a backup with PC Companion, nor with the phone app for backup, but I don't care anymore.
I'll try everything you suggested and let you know if it worked.
Thanks a lot, you have been more than helpful. I really appreciate it.

[Q] upgrading firmware but unlocked bootloader

hi,
I started this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/upgrading-55-to-314-t2860394
but ran into an issue. Since I didn't get any updates on that thread, I thought I would make a post dedicated to the problem I'm running into.
basically while attempting to upgrade to .314 using PC Companion I get
The phone tablet contains modified software that cannot be updated
Sony Updated Engine failure (error 2003)
Click to collapse
with some research it appears that this is because i unlocked my bootloader.
Questions:
is my conclusion correct? or is this because of something else?
if correct, what is the recommended course of action here? relock bootloader and update using companion PC or decrypt FTF files and flash using flashtool?
If i relock bootloader using flashtool, will it wipe my phone data?
I've found the firmware files on my computer (C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\13740270\blob_fs) If i decrypt these with flashtool and use them to update firmware, will it wipe my data?
Thanks
You can update via flashtool without looking data. Flash ftf file and check system only and uncheck wipe. Re- locking bootloader will wipe your phone. Your assumption is correct m8. You can't update your phone with pc companion because of your unlocked bootloader. Happy flashing m8
