SM-G925F 32g Pit file - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear All,
I'm so sorry to disturb you with my thread, But I'm facing a problem with my S6 edge and I need the Pit file...
May someone can help me
BR

you don't need..load the firmware that matches most..rename tar.md5 to tar... extract it with winrar ..download the toolkit from original development thread..delete the hidden.img from the extracted firmware..now copy it to toolkit input folder and make a flashable Odin package.. should work

[Q] how to unpack tar.md5 ?

Hi,
I downloaded a ROM from sammobile.com for my galaxy tab 10.1, and all I want is system.img which is located in a tar.md5 file .
if I extract is with 7zip I get a message "there is no correct record at the end of archive"
and dsixda kitchen don't seem to recognize it .
any ideas please .
thanks.
Well its simple just rename it to .tar and use winrar to extract it. the md5 extension makes odin calculate a hash to check if the firmware you're flashing is not corrupted.
hi,
I did that and I got a message "there is no correct record at the end of archive"
the files are extracted but I think it is corrupted because dsixda kitchen can't read it.
just extract it by 7-Zip and don't care about message
I have this problem too, my 7-zpi say that canĀ“t open file format unknowed or damage.
your download maybe interupted, try download it again and do md5 checksum

You might be opening the wrong file.
You have to download 2 files:
xxxx.tar
xxxx.tar.md5
the first one is the one you have to open.
the second one is the one that only have the MD5 result of the first.

Redownlaod and try to unzip again. Kitchen should open it, make sure u have kitchen scripts for your phone or edit from flashable zip. Afaik
best idea
dont use 7zip but use unoversal extractor. it will extract everything.
I have the same issue for 5301. I have to get either the recovery or system img for creating a custom rom. Usually samsung firmware files can be extracted using izarc, 7zip or universal extract tool. some can be opened with ultraISO or similar tool. I tried dsixdas kitchen as well. That does not even acknowledge this ROM. These firmwares come as a single tar file with md5 sum attached. There is something different about this ROM file that wont even let let the regular tools see what is inside the file. I tried to open it with a hex editor and it looks similar what a regular tar.md5 file would look. Looking at the log file from universal extractor:

99.3% (.TAR) TAR archive (149/5)
0.6% (.LZMA) LZMA compressed file (1/1)
7-Zip Tar archive extractions cannot be logged.
If Odin can flash these files using the same boot, recovery and system... images then there must be a way to extract these img files. wonder if odin extracts to a temp location?

Use odinatrix to extrat system.img n modem files..
Its the easiest tool do so...
U may also use splitfus2 bt its way trickier to use than odinatrix.

Thanks SArnab! so finally I am able to split the files using odinatrix. Now for this type of turbo ROMs how do I create odin flashable file???
I created a regular odin tar file with md5 sum but that does not go past 'NAND Write Start'. Please advise.

Your pc shud b superfast so that odintrix can work witout lag.
My HP G6 lapi took around 10 mins to extrqct the one .tar.md5 file..
The tool will automatically extract diffrnt .tar files such as modem_xxx.tar pda_xxx.tar n csc_xxx.tar
Now u can use these to flash through odin witout any prb.
U can use pda.tar in kitchen to get boot.img n system.img.
Kitchen will also help u extract sysmtem foldr from system.img.
U can also flash through odin the single .tar.md5....
Choose that in pda field...
Odin is smart enough to do rest of the part.

Appreciate the quick response. I guess my question was not clear enough. I extracted the recovery and created a clockwork recovery named recovery.img. Now I want to flash this recovery back on the device. I created the tar file using:
tar -H ustar -c recovery.img > CWMrecovery.tar
md5sum -t CWMrecovery.tar >> CWMrecovery.tar
mv CWMrecovery.tar CWMrecovery.tar.md5
When I flash this using odin3_v3.07 md5 is verified but he flash does not go through and stops at NAND write start. Is there a special way to create a odin flashable tar.md5 file foe these turbo firmwares?

Creating CSC tar files for mobile odin

Hi I've been tryin to learn how to create the proper CSC tar file for my region(Ecuador-southamerica)for use with mobile odin this is how far I can get so please anyone with spare time willing to help me help others will be appreciated
So this is with what my unlocked international SGS3 I9300 got shipped stock
PDA:I9300UBALE6
CP: I9300UBLE6
CSC : I9300UUBALE6
I found the correct stock firmware for my region Ecuador South America I9300UBALE6_I9300ECOALE4_ECO.zip (about 706 MB) i Download it extracted with winzip and got two files
1.I9300UBALE6_I9300UBLE6_I9300ECOALE4_HOME.tar.md5
2.SS_DL.dll
I then used 7z to extract the files from the .tar.md5 file and got a bunch of .img files and a .bin file
1.boot.img
2.cache.img
3.hidden.img
4.modem.bin
5.recovery.img
6.system.img
so the big question now was how can i create a .tar file for each one of this .img and.bin ..managed to use cygwin to create them ...but my question is...for the CSC.tar file I'm looking to create for mobile odin do I have to use the hidden.img and the cache.img files and make one single .tar.md5 with those two? Please correct me If I'm wrong ..for your info when I use this two for creating the CSC.tar.md5 I come up with a file of 151MB in size .. does that seems right?
The main idea Is to flash any custom Rom and be able to afterwards load the CSC .tar.md5 for my region
Thanx for your replies excuse my bad English

Did you figure this out? I was able to download the csc portion of my rom from androidfirmware.net.
Unfortunately, I did not solve me problem. I'm on 3 Ireland. My stock rom can breakdown the network information into two networks:
3 (3g)
3 (2g)
It then selects the best one based on signal.
Unfortunately, all custom roms just see two networks named as:
3
3
It doesn't switch back to 3g ever. It's a shame, I thought flashing the csc and modem from stock rom would fix this but it doesn't. I might have to always run stock firmware.

XWLPO/Siyah

I've read that the latest 4.0.4 release (XWLPO) still has MMC_CAP_ERASE enabled in it's kernel.
Am I correct in thinking if I replace the zImage file in XWLPO's tar.md5 file with Siyah 3.4.1's zImage file, then flash the firmware through Odin then:
1. I will eliminate the possible brick bug
2. Device will be automatically rooted
I might replace the new bootloader (Sbl.bin) with the old one while I'm at it.
I know I'll have to install Tungstwenty's 4.0.4 camera/video fix after flashing.
Is there anything else I should consider if tweaking the official SamMobile tar file?
Cheers
...
I've tried updating the .tar.md5 archive but I have the following problems/questions:
1. When I open the XWLPO .zip file, as well as the .tar.md5 file, there is an SS_DL.dll file. What is this?
2. When I open the .tar.md5 archive with 7Zip it says "no correct record at the end of the archive"
3. Probably because of this error, if I try to update the archive 7Zip then says "not implemented"
Does anyone know how I can add/replace files in a SamMobile .zip file please?
Thanks
1-Ignore this file. Not needed for nothing.
2-Remove .md5 from the the end of extension .tar.md5 and 7zip open file without problem.
3-7zip does not update tar file. You have to unpack the whole archive and recreate the tar file
