New battery for padfone x - Asus Padfone X and S

In need of a new battery for the Padfone X. Does anyone know where to get one? At&t doesn't have any and can't get them, Asus refuses to replace the battery because it's the phone part and it was bought through at&t. Can't find anything in the US, and waiting 5+ weeks from a shipment from China isn't really an option.

[Q] Can a US version bought in India be entitled for future upgrades?

I plan to buy the RAZR, but if buy a US version here in India, will I get future OS upgrades or will my phone be locked?
I had this same question whilst buying my HD7, the shop dealer showed me a T-mobile HD7 and a regular one. Fearing the fact that it will be locked while upgrading, I bought the regular(local) one. ( there was a good 10k difference between the two.)
And like we all know there are two versions, Motorola Razr and Droid Razr, if I pick the latter, will I not be getting any benefits/upgrades or there will be no problems at all?
Hi
Not relevant to the question you have asked, but I have one question and one point:
Question: How much cheaper are you offered the Droid Razr compared to the regular Razr?
Point:
I had found out re Blackberry, that the new 9930 (CDMA version of 9900) does not work with Vodafone in India as Verizon has put some block on it. Ebay sellers in India state that the 9930 will not work with Vodafone India.
Now, could there be a similar block with the Droid Razr as well?
As to your question, I am sure someone on XDA would post the upgrades as they become available for the Droid Razr, it might not be OTA, but I don't think I have heard of an update that has been released that XDA have not also made available manually.
Let me know if the Droid Razr is significantly cheaper than the Razr. If it is, I don't mind visiting Mumbai to pick it up at a cheaper price.

Hi..
Firstly, the device hasn't hit Indian shores...secondly, like I mentioned, when I wqs going to buy the HD7, the Tmobile was 10k cheaper than the legal/local one... I got my for 28 and the US version was 18k...that's a lot...thirdly you are right, someone would post the update here and I don't need to worry about the warranty, as the phone itself doesn't have any, considering its a US device...i am just wondering if its worth the gamble...
If the price difference is as big as your HD7 experience and I could check out a piece in store before committing my money, I would take the risk in buying a Droid Razr. Rs.10K buys a lot of additional stuff, pays a lot of bills...
(Also subject to no network blocks in India like I had read about the Blackberry 9930).

i honestly doubt there will be any sort of block...just that is shouldnt turn out to be a CDMA..as these type of phones dont have a SIM card slot...yes, agree 10k is a lot, but paying that extra 10k is also a lot of peace of mind.
If something goes awry tomorrow, i know i can screw Motorola's happiness. But if the phone is unlocked/jail broken and a US edition, i can say good bye to that 18k and head to the Himalayas...
Your call, all I wanted to know is that can I have a working/functioning US version here in India...?
Also do you know there is a Driod Razr and a Motorola Razr. Droid ones are for US and the rest are for global..

US version ie Driod Razr is a CDMA device and most networks in India are GSM so i suggest not to go for the US Droid Razr coz CDMA devices are generally locked to their respective networks and Indian CDMA operators wont entertain Verizon devices...

I have to agree. Its safe paying that extra bit. Also, am not planning to buy it anytime now seeing the current chaos of some having the green tint and not others...a couple of months lets say?

How to find manufacture date?

Got a new Galaxy S2 from Orange as a replacement for my old one (Charging fault), she said all the old ones had the problem and I had to wait for a replacement.
So, got the new one today and it didn't have a battery with it just the phone in a plain box, so wondering if its been manufactured very recently or something.. anybody know how to find the date of manufacture?

Bell Galaxy s2 LTE HD SGH-I757m, Battery Compatibly

Hello everyone, I`m in need of a backup battery for my Bell Galaxy s2 LTE HD. I can't seem to find any for this phone online, was hoping if anyone knew of any battery that is compatible. My Galaxy s2 LTE HD model is SGH-I757m
You can always buy a generic Samsung battery directly from Bell at their website. Just click Samsung and then your phone's name.
The price probably won't be competitive, but it's there if you cant find it anywhere else.
So thats our only option, i must say i do like this phone, but thiers no market or support for it, wich blows, i regret getting it
Found one 21.79 alot cheaper then what bell wants, here link for anyone whos looking http://www.batterybuyer.com/battery...galaxy-skyrocket-galaxy-skyrocket-p-7277.html
I'm looking for a replacement battery for my SGH-i757M. Looks like the model on the back of the battery is EB585157VA. I was not able to find any for sale, however, I found the EB585157VK. Specs are identical. Do you know if it will work with my phone? Any other suggestions on where I can purchase a replacement battery?

Is there still going to be a Padfone S2?

In July, and again in December, there was a lot of news about a Padfone S2 update to be released with Marshmallow and the SD 820 in March. Given that it is March and there doesn't appear to be any news, is the S2 still on the way?
I really like the concept and form factor, and am halfway tempted to just buy a Padfone S for use on AT&T except my work requires it has at least Lollipop installed. Plus I suspect "my" cost would be cheaper through AT&T since I could put it on the monthly plan now, and then get it paid off at the end of the year.
Anyone know what the latest is?
It's still early in March but if it's on AT&T, I'd be hesitant to buy through them again after how badly they did the firmware the first time around. The S 1 was a good phone after I got the Padfone S firmware and unlocked it via the XDA site. I'd imagine it would be a while before someone would get it to that point for the S2.
But still, I hope AT&T has it because I may want it.... unfortunately my S1 is still going strong and is about to get Marshmallow, so I may just stick with my S1 for a little bit longer.

But IF you get a Padfone X, you can unlock the bootloader and install Lollipop on it to make it a Padfone S. Just don't install root on it during the TWRP install of the ROM and MDM agents like Airwatch will still work with it (I actually have mine done this way).
Unfortunately the work plan (which has the saving grace of "truly" unlimited data) is only AT&T. I'm thinking of the PadFone because if you ever use the device to tether the unlimited data drops to 5 gigs - and I do a fair bit of video conferencing. Have considered getting a USB-powered HDMI monitor to hook up to the same battery I use for recharging my phone, but the PadFone gets me almost as large a screen with a lot fewer pieces to lose/break/tangle.
Thanks for the info on your experience. Hopefully someone here might know a bit more on the future of the S2.
I doubt AT&T will sell the Padfone X2 (S2), seeing as how badly the Padfone X did for them (they dropped it after a few months, never put out a PFX LP update even though ASUS updated the PFS to LP, etc). If it did well, they probably would have also released the Padfone S+ (SD801, 3GB RAM, 64GB on-board, 4K video recording).
