XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is built from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".
Base : Lollipop 5.1.1_r8 : FULL AOSP BASE FROM SOURCE.
It's Rockstable,Blazing fast.
and now Buttery Smooth too!

WHAT IS RRO?
Furrydaus said:
Many of you may be new to RRO so let's give you a brief overview of what it is.
On the surface, RRO seems to be like your standard themer you'll find from any rom especially in CyanogenMod.
RRO is a new kid in the block and isn't as sophisticated as the CM Theme Engine but it is indefinitely more efficient and more customizable (More on that later).
Have you somehow liked the way the Sony Theme Engine worked? It was indeed a project from the RRO Interface but with Sony's own tweaks. If you are able to guess, the Sony Theme Engine has its flaws and shares some of the same fate as the RRO Theming Engine.
Ever since the rise of CyanogenMod, Google and its affliates seem to have responded to the call for more customizabilty by Improving the Original RRO Engine and then officially releasing it as part of AOSP in the Lollipop Releases although it can still be found in some form or another in the earlier versions of Android.
Now since the new RRO Engine was released, it turned out to be the very thing that the CM Theme Engine feared, a worthy competitor. Unlike RRO, the CM Theme Engine uses loads (and I really mean LOADS) of code in implementing it. Patching it again and again, the CM Theme Engine seem to be reluctant to absorb into the possibilities of RRO trying to stay away from the Google Way.
Unlike the CM Theme Engine, RRO uses and accesses the resources of the whole OS and opens it up for the user to customize and utilize. Right now, it seems very difficult to get a hold of but once you get started in using it, you'll realize how much potential RRO can do for you.
The downside of RRO is that unlike the CM Theme Engine, it is very difficult to ensure that things run smoothly. Some newbie developers may publish RRO Themes to the play store and may have missing resources. (I'm sure the inexperienced developer pool will reduce if given time and leniency)
Like @miki.cis has shown, some themes can cause crashes to the system including the Reboot Menu due to missing resources. When there's a missing resource, the system is stuck and takes the easy way out by rebooting. (I can see this being remedied in the future though).
So as a result, RRO Layers is a dragon that can be tamed if properly utilized and given the time to mature. I hope those who are trying RRO for the first time be lenient to the new RRO Layers Engine and its new generation of Themers.

Furrydaus

does rro layer support cm12 themes ??
Awesome. Download it now.
I'm back to reviewing... Here comes
Sent from my Xperia SP using XDA Free mobile app
finally an aosp rom of lollipop and also with the latest revision r8 but please tell prangr8 could you make or merge the illumination setting as done by the adrianDC in cm12??
For me takes a lot of time for the first boot. More than other roms. And when the rom boot, i couldt do nothing. Only appear the wallpaper. I did a restart an then bootlop with the message of starting apps. And when i go to twrp to restore my backup, twrp cant mount /data. I know how to solve this but i dont know why this happen. I did wipe data/cache/dalvik/system. And then i flash the rom and gapps and reboot.
Quick Info.
ROM is majorly AOSP based.
I've used our CM sources made by Marcelo and AdrianDC to compile this ROM so we have all the stuff in here including fully working light bar!
Also RRO is not CM Theme engine.
It's completely different.
A link has been posted previously, kindly do read about it for more info.
Hope you like the new RRO Flavour to our custom ROMs
Also, I've noticed, you can combine different themes to get a unique effect.(see attached files here. First screenshot is of TimberWolf Theme and second Element and the third one was what happened when I installed Element over Timberwolf.. don't know if it'll have any side effect if combined)
That being said, enjoy and have fun customising....

This rom should work on the standard one, but definitely don't flash T-kernel BEFORE the FIRST boot! It causes bootloop then...
Gonna flash right away

Their work and the nexus Prime are the reasons to continue with my XSP.
I'll wait to upgrade my internet to download this rom. :fingers-crossed:
About the new rom it would be Dirty Unicorn? :victory:
4.4.x Dirty Unicorns for SP would be great :fingers-crossed:
Hum sorry guyz but i don't have the skill yet to omnify all repos needed to make DU, i wish i can make it but...not yet good enough to, and also another thing, TWRP on huashan's AOSPs is really in a bad shape...ubberlaggydarwin said its totally broken, i made it boot but i can't manage to make touchscreen work, i will try again later...but maybe some changes on the way, sir Mazda told me they will give a go to pure AOSP as a base for DU instead of omni, if it works i will surely bring it to huashan
BTW i always publish builds on my G+ (or gothdroid's one ) before here...
No next rom is Tesla, from same team Ground Zero roms....give me a day or two and it will land over here =)
After few reboots, ROM runs fast and smooth AF. :good::highfive:
Waking up by camera button isn't working for me (enabled in both settings>The Void>Buttons and >Lockscreen).
Also i haven't figured out, how to change the wallpaper to the launcher one, as i want it to be changing cause i'm uising Muzei (except for theme engine).

Any plans on implementing glove mode?
Btw, when a theme is applied, notification/quick settings page seems to revert to almost basic skin, but i don't think it's a bug, just saying.

How can i stop Chrome Beta from launching in floating mode and launch it normally?
Well, so after few days on this ROM and many apps installed, device sometimes doesn't wake up when screen off, sometimes i get systemui FC after unlocking the screen (Sometimes i get small freezes or app crashes, but not a big deal compared to the wake up and systemui fc)
@Alx31TLse Confused whether I should flash Tesla or validus. What do you suggest? The feature image of Validus is very low res and hence I can't see the features.

I have an error like this
"Unfortunatelly, Google App has stopped."
and I colud not install rom.
I don't know what gapps should I use with this rom.
Tried GApps for 5.1.1, installed but google play services has stopped
Install the PA Gapps 5.1.1 pico (uni), still no luck.
another problem is "Browser has stopped"
Just a feedback, not a complaint.
Thank you
Anyone gets access denied when trying to download the ROM? Thanks!
I have same issues with GApps not working, tried Fermion Gapps, Minimal Edition Gapps.. no dice

Still problem with DU TBO gapps.
Same for me sadly...
will make a new build soon, flash previous one, its stable enough.

Its AOSP based so it shouldn't encrypt (not sure though), I'm unencrypted so no problems here. The ROM includes snap dragon camera and exodus updater pre installed. Any apps you don't require can be removed by the system app remover in settings.Yes its rooted.
Anyway its running smooth here , nice job guys...
ok, some "official" informations:
Indeed the rom leaves the device unencrypted if it is like that. We don't feel like forcing anything.
And yes, the rom is prerooted with latest supersu beta (2.68).
The rom is a mix of AOSP,CAF and CM.
We used CM as hardware/device base, but removed all these cm special stuff, like their framework etc.
The rest is aosp based with some mixup with caf where essencial needed (to support cm device stuff).
Our ROM is NOT a build in the usual userdebug type but as user type (like all the OEM ROMs). The ROM is signed with our own key.
Why have we decided that way?
Because a user build with own key signing is a little smoother most times (because of less debuggin logs in the background) and also it's more secure (because of the unique key used to sign every file).
We haven't added much stuff. Like already mentioned, we added SnapCam instead of the AOSP camera, and some other AOSP source Apps.
Beside the normal System App Remover, you can also remove AOSP source Apps, after you installed the Play store version (eg. Calendar, Deskclock etc.) by using the new AOSP App-Manager.
Hope that helps a litte. In the end, it's best to see yourself and to decide whether you like Exodus or not
Up and running for a couple of hours now, didn't know it was pre-rooted, so flashed 2.68 again :silly:. So far it's been really smooth and lag free, just the right amount of features, not overwhelming in any way. Bottom line: rock solid! Excellent work this, as should be expected coming from Martin's stable. Thank you guys, especially the OP for graciously sharing your work with us, another win for Shamu!!
Any 6.0.x GApps of your choice, we recommend opengapps.org 64bit

nope shamu is 32bit. I'm guessing he copied his op from the n5x or n6p forums and forgot to change some stuff

Thank you very much, that`s all i need to know
I`ll download now and give it a try
Main thing I look for in a ROM is the battery/notification LED and Nav bar customization. Does this have those things?

Yes, it does.
On Sprint. Wifi tethering is not working. Tried several attempts. Also went into developer options to enable keep cellular signal on while on wifi.
I noticed in the wifi tethering setting in the disconnect while idle it says "always".
I attached a logcat.
Everything is smooth and great in this rom, finally something to settle on. THANKS A LOT Devs!!!
BTW could someone tell me if we can edit the quick tiles on this rom, ive looked everywhere but was unable to find such option. Thanks!

XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is built from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".
Base : Lollipop 5.1.1_r18 : FULL AOSP BASE FROM SOURCE.

Regards,
Furrydaus

most of mods like this won't work as the sources are updating quickly(so the mod is outdated), if you want to use the mod, see the date when it's made, and find a rom which was built on nearby date, or just try it after you have a working nandroid backup, good luck anyways
edit: btw, don't report here if don't work, it's expected
Looks really great this Rom.
It's fast. Smooth. No lags until now.
Congrats and thanks for the work.
