Android version - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can i change my Android version of 4.4.2 kitkat to 5.1lollipo ?please assist

Depends on what device you've got and whether you want stock, Stock or custom. (stock is samsung or so, Stock is google's original source and custom is a customized rom)

How to root and flash the latest official samsung stock rom?

Hi, sorry for the question.
I am getting an S2 which comes with android 4 something, but with a rom that was modified by my cellular provider.
I really want an official stock rom.
Is there a simple and easy way to root and flash an official stock rom?
Thanks in advance!

AOSP ROMs are built from the Stock Android source code. Nexus devices run the stock google android OS.
AOSP = custom ROM based on stock google android OS
TW,Sense,MotoBlur = modified google android OS.
So DN3 is not AOSP

android open source project .no is not
AOSP means Android Open Source Project ( http://source.android.com/).
AOSP roms are based on the source code provided by Google itself.
Other roms could be based on stock firmware provided by the manufacturer of the mobile phone.
Usually AOSP roms are a more recent version of Android.
Stock based firmware, on the other hand, are more stable and provide all the official features.

The i9300 doesn't have knox. Either you are mistaken or have another model, in which case you've posted in the wrong forum.

Is there a way to get stock kitkat on this device?

Hi, all. I'm currently running the insert coin rom on my htc desire 601(virgin mobile usa) and I'd like to know if it's possible to get a completely stock version of kitkat running on this phone? if so, could someone be kind enough to explain how i go about it?
A CMW recovery may backup a stock ROM.

It is, you need just to install a stock based rom, like ArchiDroid, Neatrom etc
