Is there anyway to downgrade? I have a tmobile sim in the phone, and the Lollipop update broke the ability to text. I either to need to fix the texting issue, or downgrade.
Thanks,
Eric.
If you got to 5.0.1 via the OTA, there is no way to go back.

That's a bummer, so then that leads to the secondary, is there any way to fix Texting from other carriers, that aren't Verizon? I'm using google messenger.
Maybe it's a APN setting?
Thanks.

just found out a workaround ... download app called Advance Signal Status from play store, and change your Network setting in the app to WCDMA ... everything should work. I know you will not get LTE, but H+ is good enough for speeds, atleast for tmobile.

Everyone's been asking about it. Everyone wants it. Here it is, the wifi calling app from the G2! I've installed and runs perfectly fine on my vibrant running JP3 froyo 2.2. My home network is weak so i can't really test yet. Kudos to @Official_Drizzy for the .apk
Install with your preferred method of install, I used astro just fine, or push it to /system/app via adb. Whatever floats your boat.
enjoy
I wonder if this would work on Bionix 1.8? I don't mind testing, but if anyone knows the answer...

just install it, it won't hurt to try. If it doesn't, then remove it.
Doesn't look like it works at the moment... the app gets to the point where it says 'Enabling...' and doesn't do anything after that. It never goes unresponsive though. I'll keep messing around and see what happens.
It is being discussed in another thread... But it won't work yet with the vibrant. Something to do with the kernal.

I thought it had to do with localhost?
Perhaps it only works on 2.2

Would love to get this thing working. Once it is, would it be possible to call using 3G instead of WIFI? Haven't they done it on Skype.
I wouldn't also mind having Skype work for my Vibrant either
Looks like im going back to Froyo!

The Wifi calling app is merely using your Wifi as a poor-man's femtocell to allow you to have clear voice calls if your in areas where decent voice signal isn't available and Wifi is. Granted, this would also have significant benefits when roaming or traveling where Wifi is available too...
But....
This uses the minutes allocated in your service plan.... So being hacked to run on 3g would be pointless...
doesn't seem mines is having an connectivity issues YET. It says i'm connected to my home network but that i can't use wifi-calling because the network is too weak.
I would just like to be able to use the phone in my apartment where I don't have service. To have to put it on a Froyo that doesn't work completely is out of the question though. Hopefully, someone smarter than me can get it working on JI6.
Just loaded Froyo, it doesn't seem to be working. Just says enabling....
EDIT: Maybe it does work. When I turn it on my signal goes from 1 bar to 5 bars.
Figures, it works perfect downstairs with wifi off and with wifi on. Its hard to tell if wifi calling is working or not because tmobile did fix my signal a little last week.

It wouldn't matter what your cell signal is. Its not using the cell signal its using the wifi.
Doesn't work on Frank Wiz.

Well it might, because thats how it worked on the Blackberry. It switched to UMA and had full bars.
Honestly when I turn it off it goes to 0 - 1 bars the second i turn it on I get 5 bars.

I can confirm it works on both 3g 4g and wifi....crystal clear image on my drive to work today, on 3g it has alot of artifacts and can be sometimes slow as far as movements go but otherwise its fast and clear.
Can anyone get it to work on AT&T over 4G?? It tells me that it can only do it over wifi, sure this can be fixed by flashing something?
Thanks in advance!

I was wondering that too. I think ATT blocked it somehow. I used to be able to do it on my Verizon thunderbolt.
is this any different then google+ hangouts?
i have paid for the foxfi wifi tethering app.
It was working fine before the latest update.
Now the phone is erroring out and is prompting me to click on a "go to my verizon mobile" or "call customer service button".
all you have to do is click on "My verizon mobile" when prompted and then just back out of the my v mobile app and the tethering works fine.
And no, i have accidently signed up with a tethering plan.. i double checked to see if it did.
Hopefully this helps a fellow paid foxfi user.

If your plan is capped at a data limit you WILL be able to use it. If not VZW would be in a lot of trouble. They got fined for this before. However those of us on an unlimited plan are blocked access to it.

When I turn on the wifi hotspot thru the june fabrics app, it gives me the error message but I just hit the home button and move on. The hotspot works just fine.

Same here... any of the toggles or free tether apps still work. DO NOT hit cancel, just hit the home button and it stays on. Once its on you can still even configure set the WEP2 settings and passwords without any trouble.
Thats crazy...that means the update determines who has unlimited plans.... VZW is starting to crack down on us.....
Mine is waiting for me to get back in....I have unlimited tether so I guess we'll see if it blocks me.

Dont worry, it works, just hit home and not the verizon or cancel. Ive been using it just fine.
I haven't installed any updates and don't plan on it. So, what is it that I am missing from this update that has everyone losing their Root access to get? I sort of figured that Verizon would be sending out an update to eliminate the option of being able load the prerelease kernel or any other ones for that matter.
Sent from my Rooted Clean Rom 1.5 using xda app-developers app
Or just use a different firmware. I bought my phone already rooted - I previously would have been nervous about rooting it, but since it came that way... and launching the hotspot is just a simple button click in the notifications pull down.
FoxFi has been fixed, as of today, and now works just as it did before. It will ask you something about creating a certificate (which you can read about on their site I guess).. anyhow, I updated mine and it works w/o utilizing the "home button" trick from before.

I got my Verizon S4 off of Swappa from a guy who was nice enough to set it up for PagePlus for me. I recently updated to 4.3 and my 3g stopped working. How can I fix this issue? I’d like to learn how to fix this myself so I can do it again when I upgrade to 4.4. Thanks!

Yes I have the cdma option selected. Do i need to update my apn? I one see the verizon internet option under apns but it is greyed out and unselectable
I'm using an unlocked g935v S7E on stang5litres rom and everything works fine except i have no mobile data and i get a message saying "this sim card is not from verizon wireless". By no mobile data i mean no connection to the Internet. I can still send and receive texts and calls just nothing internet related (browser, google play, etc)

Call your carrier and ask them to re-provison your sim.
And no you don't have to tell them your on a custom Rom. Just play dumb.
