Hi, does anyone knows which Radio ROM works better in the Caribbean area. I live in Puerto Rico and my carrier is Claro (formely Verizon Wireless). Right now i'm using Radio 1.48.00.00 in my ATT 8525. I constantly upgrade the OS Rom, but I don't wanna risk my device upgrading my Radio testing every popular Radio ROM as I don't really know much about the matter. Also, sorry for my english.
Thanks in advance for any help.
have u checked the wiki pages there may be something that could help u find the right radio rom but u have done a good thing to not flash lots of diff roms as they can brick ur hermes, if you cant find one and no1 knows of a better one i would suggest sticking to the one youve got.
hope this helps and that you can find a better radio
Have fun
Thanks. I did some search in the wiki's but i couldn't find radio upgrade that said that works for Claro in Puerto Rico. I think I will stick to the one I'm currently using hehehe.
thats probably the best idea if you have not been able to find one that works

Better signal for your htc clone t3232
Estimados Boricuas y amigos:
Hello, This is my first comment in these forums
I just unlock a Samsung Galaxy Ace is with Telcel and working properly.
After his unlock I put a simcard Unefon, but when booting I get a padlock that says Network Lock with a button that says Reject.
Pressing the phone boots normally with the legend of Emergency Calls Only, I get the full signal bars and one side a little icon of a simcard with an exclamation point.
When I search for available networks are:
Telcel
Movistar
334050
I choose the 334050, but does not solve anything, I tried selecting only 2G networks, but neither.
My question is if I have to adjust some settings on the phone or I have no choice but to change the firmware.
If I have to change the firmware, Which one would you recommend?.
Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

Hey!
Where you get your unlock app or something, with what you unlock you phone?
Can you give the link?
CHEERS!
Hello Casiocas.
I used the services of GSMLiberty dot net, they sent me the software and instructions.
When I type *#7465625# I get this information:
Bloqueo de red
[OFF]
Network lock
[OFF]
So I guess the phone is actually unlocked.
I have a picture, but the forums still will not let me post links.
Hola, a mi me pasa algo parecido.

I have a tutorial for this and it is harmless to your phone if you do all the steps right.
Ok i think that you get something wrong with your code, i recommend trying with another sim, or see in the network configuration that you have everything right to work with this new sim you have, and if you want to try a custom firmware y recommend the Fla.sh ROM or the FirstUA-ROM
GOOD LUCK

Or what modem i need to flash to make 3g network works???
MY CARRIER IS UNEFON GSM OR IUSACELL GSM
Thank you.
Hello!
I installed the rom version 2.3.4 (vivo - Brazil) in my galaxy s5830L (3g 850/1900MHz). My mobile carrier works with 3G 2100MHz, so I can not connect to 3G only 2G (edge).
Do you know if there is any possibility to enable 2100MHz in s5830L 3G?
Thank you!

Here's a rough translation:
Friend, something similar happens to my Galaxy ACE, sometimes it detects the network but only in 2G mode, I've never gotten it to recognize the 3G network, I'm going to try different ROMs, but for now I'm using a Brazilian ROM for Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread "but it only works with 2G, I'm looking for a ROM that works with 3G for Iusacell/Unefon"

Not at all since the radio is physically (hardware) different and shouldn't support 2100MHz 3G.
I've heard of some phones that had a third, inactive band that was turned on somehow, but that is more of a fluke than the norm. You're gonna need a regular S5830 or a S5830B to use 2100MHz 3G.
Already Detects UNEFON/MOVISTAR in [email protected]
I now already make it that galaxy ace detects 3G Unefon Network in WCDMA mode at 1900Mhz, but when i try to subscribe the phone to the network, then the subscription fails and the phone send me a message like "emergency calls only" Any ideas why is happening this?

I haven't found any stock firmware for my country, Dominican Republic, so i'm posting this for anyone interested. This is the official gingerbread firmware for Orange Galaxy Ace (Dominican Republic). Useful for warranty purposes. CSC Code is DOR
Since this post is targeted to Dominican Users, from now on i'll be writing in spanish (if that isn't a problem)

If your country/area already has an official release of a newer firmware version, it should show up in KIES.
If not, then you might have to flash an unofficial build or one from another country.
But, seriously, you shouldn't really warry about the warranty because:
1. It's so boring having a stock ROM, you'll eventually flash a custom one, anyway -P)
2. Even if it does brick, Samsung don't give two sh*ts. I know an acquaintance who works in tech repairs (for Android phones), and the software state of the phone usually doesn't come into consideration whether or not the device is still eligible for the warranty.

If you ever change your product code, you wont be able to update with kies to the original firmware. Also, i haven't found the original csc anywhere, and no multicsc has the DOR one. I've found 1 or 2 things that do not work correctly here without it (an example is that i couldn't logon my SGS2 to a samsung account without the DOR csc, it returns an error)
And we don't have samsung service centers yet. So we rely on the service provider, and they do look for any reason that will allow them to avoid covering the warranty.

Nice, i've found the same issue when changing firmwares. It's sugested to wipe the device in that process.

So what if it has the orange bootanimation? When I flashed 2.3 on mine, it was gone and I was still flashing a stock rom un-rooted. They couldn't possibly void warranty because of such stupid thing.
But then again, they're Orange so who knows.

I specified in the first post why i was posting in spanish. Since nobody made a claim, it's still in this language, but if there is any inconvenient, i have no isue to translate to english. It's still only for the interest of dominican residents because i think nobody in the world is interested in such an old version, and even branded for orangerd.
By the way, i think this forum is for helping others, and i don't see how your coment is helping him.

Weird. Why would you want the firmware for? Aren't you better off with custom roms?
Because since ive been using custom roms my phone loses signal a lottttt. its getting annoying.

That depends a lot on what rom you're using. Anyway, just look for the official stock 4.0 version. Should be out by now. You don't have to use Orange's rom.
I had tried 4.0 and it had a lot of bugs. so i went back to 2.3.6 open europe. im guessing the open europe is the reason i lose signal. thats why i want the original.

You csn try changing the modem.. Ki1 works fine. KL1 has some signal problems and sometimes kernel panics (at least in orangerd)
Try kL1.firmware with Ki1 modem...

Yeah, it might be a baseband or kernel problem. Different rom versions have different kernels and basebands. Try to look for the best one with the least issues. For the Ace, its DDKQ.
I've read a couple of posts about this, but it seems there's not a clear criteria about it. So I want to buy an LG G3. I live in Costa Rica. The cheapest version of this phone on ebay is the Sprint version, but the unlock codes available for sale on several websites for the LG G3 only support the AT&T and T-Mobile version.
So, I really need to know if the Sprint version of the LG G3 can be somehow unlocked (not by requesting to Sprint the unlock code, because most ebayers don't even have a Sprint account haha, which is kind of suspicious how they got hands on one of these devices ). Can someone please tell me for sure if there's a way to unlock this phone and use it internationally on a WCDMA (3G) network (with micro SIM card)? If there is, does it depends on the specific ROM/version/model? I don't want to buy this phone and ending up without being able to use it as a phone in my country.
Thank you so much in advance for any information/tip you could provide me! :good:
hmm
be specific mann
Yes.it can be unlocked . I am sure ... Cause i saw someone sell this phone and have unlocked it to use gsm /cdma..
Hello guys, After 1 week using my new phone with my company (WOM chile) my 4g stopped working correctly ( slow, no signal, etc ) I restored my phone to factory settings, change the micro sim, speak with my company but the problem still persists.
I tested my 4g signal with an app "OpenSignal" it says that my network is "celular" in the speed test. testing it with a friend's phone ( Galaxy s7, same company) it says "wom network" and excellent speeds
My firmware is at G9650ZHU2ARC6, product code is g9650zajcho
is there a way to "reset, doing a fresh install" to the phone? like a flash to the modem, rom ? where can i find the correct files to do it with odin? maybe i can fix it that way
thanks
