I remember reading where others have had Internet problems where they get an exclamation point (!) instead of a data icon and the 4g does not work. This happens to me on every Aosp Cyanogenmod based rom that I try. It's an intermittent problem and sometimes rebooting the phone Fixes the problem.
Has anybody found a fix for this yet? Or anything I could try? Thanks!

I have been suffering from this also. I have flashed every single AOSP rom available, tried every fix and trick for APN's that is mentioned, tried every modem. I just believe some phones just can't run AOSP roms. Any tried and proven fixes for this would be great.

So I did a reset on my phone just to clean up a bunch of stuff on it, but now my GPS won't fix hardly at all. I have fixed it before using *#*#1472365#*#* but now as soon as I enter the last *, it just disappears from the screen. I can't hit send or anything. Any suggestions? I'm running an older ROM but have never had problems with it before.

Guess this is a bit of a late answer, but look at this post. Do you have a ROM that is AOSP based? In that case, the dialer codes won't work as they're from a different framework.
Hi,
Yesterday I flashed CM9 resurrection edition (before that I had a 2.3.5 stock ROM) and GAPPS.
Everything seems to work fine, apart from the GPS function...
In 2 times I tried, it took my SG2 about 15-20 minutes to lock on to a signal (and after that it was fine...), but in all the other times, it doesn't get a lock on.
I d/l GPS status and GPS Test and I get nothing.
I tried the AGPS patch from here, but nothing seems to work.
I looked all over the net for a solution, but didn't got to anything useful.
Can anyone help?
Try to flash a newer CM9 Nightly. Many improvements have been committed since last resurection release.

I read GPS fix installs tons of spam and push ads. I prefer avoid it.
Any other idea?
Flash latest nightly. The latest commit found below fixes your problem

I am having a peculiar issue. My Wi-Fi drops out and then reconnects every 30-45 minutes or so. I have the latest version of the ROM, flashed the boot.img in the thread, but it still doesn't fix my issue. It doesn't matter how far I am away from the signal, it just drops out temporarily, and then reconnects. I can't explain it. Other than that, it seems to be working great, but before I rooted and flashed, I never had any issues of any kind with the WiFi.
Also, it may be worth noting that I don't know for sure yet, but it may also turn on the WiFi automatically even though I have it set not to. Sometimes when I am out and about, I'll get a popup saying that WiFi networks were found nearby, do you want to connect etc...
Any help will be appreciated, I love this ROM and can't see myself going back on stock but this is a pretty cumbersome issue...
Re: WiFi Issue On Venom
Have you tried it out on other routers?
And fir the asking to join networks, there is a setting in wifi>advance for that.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
About the only thing that I haven't tried is another router, but the other devices on the network don't seem to be having any issues. Then again, it is an Airport, so...Yeah, I won't fully know until I get a chance to test it elsewhere...
But I know about the advanced setting and have it disabled. That's why I'm wondering it its something in the ROM or something that I did wrong that it keeps trying to come come back. My guess is that it's disconnecting the mobile network and resetting it, just as it is doing on the WiFi...
Update
Just in case someone else runs into this issue, the problem was with an app that I used to change my host name. It would intermittently interrupt my connection trying to do that. I uninstalled it and edited my build.prop file the old fashioned way. The issue didn't have anything to do with Venom, just the fact that I had rooted and tried new things.
Thanks for your help!
This was the app that caused the issue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tiranodroid.change.hostname

Can you please go to the advanced editing options and change the name of your thread and place "Fixed" in there so people can reference it, if need, and what app it was. Thanks.
hey guys, I somehow can't get a GPS lock when I'm running SlimBean, but I can get it when I'm using Neat ROM. How do i get it to lock when I'm using SlimBean?
Did you read other users experiences in SlimBean thread? It's probably a problem with the ROM or kernel, try a different rom or version or kernel.
Since flashing 4.3.1 and now Im using 4.4 Pound rom, I have had major GPS problems too.
Sometimes, it could take upwards of 5 minutes to find a lock. If I flashed back to stock 4.1.2, it looks within seconds. I've searched all over the internet for a solution. Flashing gps config files and enabling static GPS and trying tons of programs from the play store, nothing worked.
So what I do now is when I want a quick fix, I enable the GPS to not only look for the GPS satellites, but to also use the network. For some reason, this gets me a fix within a few seconds. I can then disable the network part and try again and it fixes instantly.
I cant explain it, but whatever, it works.

I'll give it a try, cheers for the input, will post the result of my experiments soon
your stock sammy rom is probably localised to your country whilst a custom rom is not.
Try gps-fix apps from the play store. Or a new kernel
Hello XDA Developers,
I come to you all with a problem. I am having trouble with my GPS; it won't lock. I have tried these things:
Using GPS Status and other GPS fixers
Doing a factory reset using Mr. Cook's ROM Wipe Script
Clearing data and cache of my GPS apps (Waze and Google Maps)
Idk what else to do. Every time I use the GPS apps to pinpoint my location, after a navigation session, it goes back to getting stuck on "waiting for GPS".
Any help is appreciated.
What firmware are you running? Have you had the same problem with other firmware?

I am currently on an unofficial nightly of CM11 ported by RenderBroken. When I was experiencing those problems, I was on Omni ROM for Android 4.4. I was on ShoStock3 before the Omni ROM, and it was the same problem.
I don't run anything AOSP based so I can't speak about how those might affect GPS, but since you have the problem across various roms, and even on SHOstock3, I wonder if the phone has a problem with the GPS hardware? Have you ever had good GPS at any point with that phone? If so what were you running at the time.
I've had some GPS issues in the past but am not having any issues currently. I've been on SHOstock3 for a long time. My issues were on an earlier version of SHOstock, I don't remember which one exactly. When my GPS would fail to lock, just as you described, a reboot would fix the issue and result in a fast lock, but then the next time I would try to use GPS, I would have to reboot again. It was very annoying. Someone said that to format cache, wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions would fix the problem, so I tried that, and yes I would then get a lock in 5 - 10 seconds and it would stay good for a few weeks until I would have to do it again. I never experimented to see which of those three things helped, or if you had to do all three. That was back around June or July of this year.
As I recall, the next base change on SHOstock completely eliminated the issue.
