There was a need to record conversations on Android. I read about it, and after much experimentation came to the conclusion that the standard means of recording quality does not work or does not work on many phones. It should be written as a library and through the use of root rights. How do I not found. Maybe there is someone developments or links to projects?

There are a few things around the site about it but most either disable it or its not part of the stock os. This is due to legal reasons as recording phones calls is not legal in many areas and without a warrant never admissible in court.
You may have to program it into your os to get it to work right.

But many applications is realized through Native library where recording is not supported. I am wondering whether there is a library in the public domain, or information on how to enable support in the OS?

So have it built in. Alot of apps I have tested (legal reasons) have not worked at all. Some apps try to use root xploits to make it happen.

I'm sure there is somewhere in the Google docs and how tos. It will most likely be ripping an app apart to see how they try to do it and then trying to make your own. Most apps have given up due to the security nature of it.

Unfortunately, I am looking for information on this issue for a long time and found nothing. I would make specific reference, if any. He read a bunch of articles, he also tried a bunch of options, but about change through Ruth nowhere information.

OK, got my gTablet, installed the Vegan rom after the OTA update. I'm new to Android/tablets, have been noodling around some. BUT: can someone point me to some basic intro to the user interface, Android OS, etc.? I'd like to learn how to do basics like remove apps (and which ones are bloatware), create folders/organize apps, customize the functionality further, etc. Most of what I've pulled up thru searching hasn't covered the basics for a new user. Thx!
Here is the link for the Advent Vega Manual, which tells a
lot about operating the Vegan Tab interface:

Hope this helps.

Thx! Any pointers to a guide to the general Android OS basics? (I haven't found one yet and I figure someone here might know a really good one.)

Not necessarily. I get some random pop-up indicators, and can't figure out some basic stuff, or if apps remain running in the background, how to organize the desktop(s), hid/organize icons from the main screen, where to find things in the file sys, etc.
Call me oldschool, but I prefer to actually read a manual or guide (I hate videos--I want to read at MY pace!!) and see just how the system is organized, what can and can't be done, etc. You usually miss a whole lot with the 'just play around with it' approach--I've seen this to be generally true over the past few decades.
There is a hack going around that I have been playing around with that unfortunetly I have not been able to get working. It is an edit for the Build.Prop file in \system. (this does require a root and some sort of root explorer) (I've tried some of the other "hacked" APK's, but I can't deal with crappy video)
Take a quick look at this article on Reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/ha5oh/root_how_to_edit_your_buildprop_to_make_netflix/
After looking at that for a while I started tooling around.
Changes I made :
ro.product.model=Nexus S (Replacing MB860)
ro.product.model.internal=Nexus S (Replacing MB860)
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung (Replacing motorola)
So basically, this is supposed to fool the device check by making the application think you are using an accepted device. Like I said I haven't been able to get it to work. If anyone can see any other changes to make, any input would be appreciated. Hopefully we can get this working and share it with the community, until Netflix decided to come to their senses.
I've attached the Official Netflix app if anyone needs it
Already a working app..
Someone already posted a APK that bypasses the check.. there are video issues with colors, but that is the Atrix screen not the App...
also i'm pretty sure root explorer is a paid app, so posting that here violates terms and conditions

How is it the screen? (not arguing, I just don't know)
I was hoping that this might just fix that problem

It something to do with either hardware acceleration of how the app handles teh qHD screen. the Watch ESPN app does thes same thing.
also this method is not a good idea when compared to using the modified APK, because you are editing your actual system files through this way. and as said before this has been discussed and a different way found already on this forum.

The Atrix has a higher resolution screen than every other android phone currently available. An app, especially a graphically intensive video app, has to be designed to scale up to this resolution. Not to say it can't work, just doesn't yet.

Thanks downloading right now
I had success getting Netflix to work on Viewsonic G-Tablet running CM 7.0.3.
I used the instructions posted by natemckn at reddit. As a noob, I'm not able to post links to the XDA forum (yet), so you'll need to search for the instructions on reddit or google. The post is titled "[ROOT] How to edit your build.prop to make Netflix work on unsupported devices."
Specifically, I modified these two lines in build.prop:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
Also, I moved NetFlix to my external SD card.
Rebooted, everything works like a champ.

There's already a thread discussing all of this. Please avoid duplicate threads.
Has anyone out there has experience with using frameworks to report crashes back to the developer via email of any other mechanism i.e. uploading it to a custom server. How would do you rate/like it?
I can certainly override threaduncaughtexception and roll out my custom, but I'm sure other people would have done that and tried it out and maybe there is a framework that does that.

Hey!
Need your help guys! Recently my app was banned from Google Play Store with claim of repetitive content. I send immediately e-mail back to Google to find more detailed info about situation. As a reply I got again that it is a repetitive content. Now I am confused, because I am not sure what was wrong, because everything was made by us and there is no affilates to anything. We are trying to contact Google, but it is not possible. One thing that I was the most surprised, that Google always says that they are so reachable and always are in to help it users, but here I am convinced that it is not true.
Maybe some of you have experienced this issue and could maybe explain what could be possible reasons for the ban. Please share your stories!
Hmm, I have checked the policies of Google Play before, are you sure that the app content is unique and do not replicy other apps?

Yes, I am sure, because the code we wrote unique for this project, nothing was copied. My biggest concern is about that there was no explanation. I understand that it is their platform, but there should be some kind of service.

hello,
am on miui 11.0.5.0 global and was able to remove the stock mi browser(v10.....etc).
am trying to install an older version of mi browser that had better features than newer versions , it installs but keeps closing everytime i open it!
is there any workaround to make it work?
I know I'm not answering your question.
But why exactly do you prefer to use a browser filled with ads and junk?

Poco launcher gives you a neat way of hiding those bits of xiaomi scurf that you can't uninstall - why not just do that and browse with Iron or something better?

Regardless of ads or not, why do you still insist on using a inferior browser when there are so many others out there that do a better job.

i already mentioned the cause above!......the old version am talking about has a certain feature that isnt working anymore in new versions!.
All you mention is "the feature I'm looking for" or the "cause I'm looking for"
There's no direct mention or explanation of what you're looking for. Maybe more people will help you if you choose to explain a bit more rather than shut down every comment that's trying to help you.

the reason for posting this topic is to get help regarding running an older version of miui browser that installs but closes everytime i open in oreo/pie/q ......it runs fine on other android phones on nougat!!.
specifying the feature thats working on this old browser and not working on recent versions wont help coz poeple who "try to help" would simply recommend using other newer versions or even different browsers!!
if i wanted to shut comments ....i would have simply ignored any replies without a direct solution!!.
Okay, so you know how it works in the software world. Nobody codes everything from scratch. What we do is build upon the work of others to get what we want. Your previous browser would have been built with various libraries that it hooks into to provide different functionality. Now a new one has come out which was installed on your fone and this is using later versions of the libraries and possibly some APIs may have been dropped. So you're trying to use the old browser with the new libraries and it's entirely possible that the APIs/ABIs it needs are no longer available. So you're SOL. You're going to have to run your browser in debug mode to see what's wrong. I hope it works out for you.
