I've searched for an embarrassing amount of time to find where the 4g notification icons are located. I found some info in the og evo forum saying its in Settings.apk but i cannot find it anywhere in evo 3d. I'm mostly concerned w/finding the stat_notify_wimax_in_range, I believe. Left hand side notification 4g wifi symbol with exclamation. Can anyone direct me where to find this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe its in SystemUI.apk

Thanks for your response. I can't find it/them anywhere and i've looked thru every apk in 5 different roms. i'm gonna keep looking.

are you trying to find the way to remove that notification? If so, I made that mod in the other thread about this...Found Here
On page two, I posted links for the mod that I made to remove that (your 4g is on!) from the status bar.

I was hoping to match all my other icon edits. Just trying to add a bit of color but I think i'll be just fine removing it. Or help w/locating is great.

The 4G icon just bugs me being the only white icon(s) left. I literally looked thru every apk in 5 different roms trying to nail their location. May be going blind!

If youre trying to color the actual 4g icon (signal bar) that is located in systemUI.apk (res/drawables-hdmi) just look for the icon that most resembles the one your setup uses

Thanks again Vinchenzop. You're very helpfull but i still can't find that icon for 4g notification that pops on left of status bar. i have edited all of the ones in settings and systemUI but the dang thing is still white. not sure where it is but I can't find it anywhere. oh well!
I did use your removal zip and my status bar looks much better not having the one lone white icon. I really appreciate your help on this!
oh, and another thing, not sure if this will help anyone help me locate this mysterious icon but it has only 3 wifi bars above 4G and an exclamation. it pops on left of status bar when i am disconnected from 4g, and in notification pull down. i guess it is possible the rom i built from was missing the icon or maybe i deleted it somehow but i've also lookeded in other roms too and no luck finding it. if anyone has it, could you post it here and let me know what apk it's in?

Try doing a search in these APKs:
SystemUI.apk
framework-res.apk
com.htc.resources.apk
I'll take a look and see if I see it. It may very well be in HTC's Framework.
Hello,
I was hoping someone could answer a question I have related to the signal indicator on the status bar.
What I am trying to do is use a rom designed for an lg phoenix with the new baseband on an lg thrive (which can only use old baseband).
I was able to get the data/voice to work after installing the baseband fix from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1444328, but the signal indicator only shows one bar at all times.
Interestingly if I install a cell signal widget it will show an accurate signal strength, Its just the indicator in the status bar that doesn't work.
So here are my questions,
Is there a file from an old baseband rom that I can copy to/replace in this rom to allow the signal indicator to work?
If it is a matter of decompiling and editing a system apk which one and where are the settings for the signal indicator?

Edit: I decompiled the SystemUI.apk and it seems like the phone is only displaying the "stat_sys_signal_1" drawable in the drawable-mdpi folder. It does display "stat_sys_signal_null" for a second or two when the phone is first booted but then goes right to stat_sys_signal_1 and stays. Does anybody know how the phone determines what drawable to display for the signal status?
Im looking for help with changing status bar icons, i have looked into it in the forums and have tried but failed since im posting here lol, i have the sgh-i747m and running the hyperdrive rom, the only issue i find with this rom is i miss stock signal icon for lte and would actually like to pay someone to edit whatever file they need to to get my 3g, h, and 4g to just say LTE, i do have the systemui.apk and the framework-res.apk from the stock rom, if anyone could help out it would be really appreciated
That can be easily done by editing/replacing/copying your png's in each apk's you have. But this site can help, it may not give you the icons you want but you might find something you will like.

Hi, please can someone help me replacing the cm/lineageos data icons? i want the motorola ones, but when i decompile the systemui of lineageos, i dont get png files, only xml files... how i know what xml files are the data signal icons?
@deewfrank Hey sorry for late reply. I figured out you can replace the lte icon with 4g by following:
In systemUI/res/values/bools.xml
Search lte and find this line;
Use_4g_for_lte, make it true and you will get 4g instead of lte.
Maybe you can check for something Similar for h+ too.
So,go ahead and try.
I don't understand the editing of apks , but I decided to try I have to change the wifi icon in the status bar I want to replace it with the 4g signal data icon ,
I saw many tutorials . so people stop asking me for company wifi. I would like to change that icon when the wifi is activated I would like that when it is activated it would show the disabled icon, with that I would deceive everyone, I tried to edit the icons but when I put the application in the system / priv app folder I restart the cell phone but nothing changes, when i investigated what happened i saw that the icons appeared the unknown name inside the apk and appeared like the icons as they should be from the factory
