Just received update g925fxxu3zol6 marshmallow no mention of beta . Unsubscrlbed from the beta program yesterday and reinstalled old firmware through smartswitch as told to, just wondering if this is Marshmallow full release any ideas.
It's the same release version as the beta as far as I am aware. Were on zol6. Probably still on their servers as in the beta?
You right installed it and can confirm it's still a beta.

watch out with that firmware as BIOS (sboot an cm.bin) prevent custom kernel and recovery from booting.
Should i be updating this new update with NO Security Patch this new update come with KIW - L22C675B130
Or shoud i be waiting for new security patch/CM 13.1 ?

are you on the Beta test list or is that the official OTA ?
you need stock system and stock recovery to take the update
check the file depot in my signature for the files

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (with 1st of April security path) + EMUI 4.0 are under beta test and are expected to be released in June. The beta update is also available for public release on demand, and you can also subscribe to beta update by filling up necessary information at https://club.hihonor.com/in/update....i-4-0-marshmallow-limited-public-release.2417.
Take a note that this update isn't stable yet and we have reported many issues to Honor for that, and should get fixes sooner.
You can update to CM13 UNOFFICIAL, but before you do, just have a look at the issues mentioned for CM13. If you can live with them, I suggest you go for CM13. I am not sure whether CM13 for Honor 5x will ever be OFFICIAL (I don't know what makes it unofficial and official). Personally, I won't move to CM unless it gets fingerprint support (which is not possible until Honor releases Android 6.0.1 sources for Honor 5x).

@pank.dhnd the sources is much enough with the kernel releases which is more enough to patch the system files and make fingerprint sensor work with dev sources aka Beta.
Though i've applied for beta tester and recieved my update where as i have also patched already with the security update B150. I doubt that will i face bootloop no longer i don't go downgrading the system or re-flasing stock with B130 and update it.
@gopinaidu77 Can i just uprade this OTA ? with B150 security patched with stock with no root ??
@clsA I just applied for Beta testing and i've got the OTA aswell. i have doubt that by this month end the stock- official update will roll-on will i be able to capture that too ? Or is it better to stay in stock and avail the offcial rather opting Beta (B130).
@kartrikpal update, then do full twrp backup then do what ever you want
After days of waiting, I've successfully unlocked my BL. Please tell me from where I can get 8.2.10 'Fastboot' ROM. Everybody gives the link to LATEST Fastboot ROM which is 8.5.4 I want to downgrade to 8.2.10. I'm currently on 8.5.4 Android N and Battery life is terrible and many bugs. My device Redmi Note 4 SD Global Version.
Does anyone know?

Thanks @CraftyPie
Appreciate it. Is this a safe download? All I've to do is Flash via MiFlash. Why older version Fastboot ROMS not easily available on MIUI website?
The link was pulled from a download on the MIUI website I did a while ago so this is straight from Xiaomi. As for why they don't have older versions available, I have no clue.
if u are asking whether to downgrade or not i tell u my opinion yes cause i prefer marshmallow more and also it has support for alot of things like xposed and editing and more like bug less

I have Xiaomi Mi 8 with MIUI 10.2.1.0 Global Stable and I would like to downgrade to MIUI 8.12.20. so I have 2 questions :
* Where to download the MIUI 8.12.20 rom ?
* How to downgrade from MIUI Stable 10.2.1.0 to MIUI 10 8.12.20 ?
I'm a new user of Xiaomi phones, I have no idea from where to start. I google those questions and I read a lot of contradictory informations (some says that it's not possible to downgrade, others says that you just have to flash it, ...). I installed android device bridge and fastboot. Also applied to unlock the bootloader today so I have to wait a while to be able to unlock it for real.
Can you please help me ?
If you can unlock your bootloader you can use mi flash and fastboot to flash beta rom.

you can download recovery rom from en.miui.com and flash though updater app in system settings, backup your data first it will clean all device data
Thank you for your answer. I read that the rollback protection will brick the phone if I try to install a older version my rom. A beta version will skip that check ?
Why would going from android pie stable to android pie beta ever trigger arb?
Actually the entire premise makes no sense... 8.12.20? Stable? Wat?
Miui 8 on mi 8? Wat?

Does the version of miui change anything? Or it is only the android version? If it is only android version it's easier.

You need to to read this and then come back and explain what you're trying to do.
8.12.20 is a 3 week old global beta release

Ok thanks. So I'm on a stable miui 10 build 2.1.0 and I need to install developer build from 3 weeks ago (probably miui 10 but not sure).
I'm trying to install the required version of miui to install havoc ROM. It is written in the ROM requirement that I need to install 8.12.20 and then flash the ROM on top of it.
So if I got it, I need to wait for the unlocking of the bootloader and then install the developer build.
Does it change something if I download the MIUI 8.12.20 from xiaomi.eu ? I don't find that rom on en.miui.com. Do you know any trusted source to download ROM ?

Good to know. Thanks for the information.
Can someone confirm that there is no risk to flash miui Dev 8.12.20 on top on miui global stable 10.2.1.0 ? No risk for arb ?
And is it possible to reinstall an official version of miui in the future after flashing developer build then custom ROM ?
Yes you'll need to unlock bootloader to install custom rom.
No you dont have to wait to install global beta, you can do that straight from the miui updater on your phone (three dots \ choose update package)
It'll factory reset your phone.
I don't know if you can go from 10.2.x.x stable straight to 8.12.20 beta but the updater will tell you.
Worst case you'll have to downgrade to an earlier stable release first.
The miui updater will never allow you two trigger arb and arb will only ever get triggered when trying to downgrade the ANDROID version.
Google to find out how to check the current status of arb via adb

To move from stable to beta I need to unlock the bootloader and this operation takes a while if I understood coreectly. I just applied to unlock my bootloader so I presume I have to wait around 15 days to be able to start, is it correct ?
I did not get why I would have to pass by an earlier stable release first, can you give me more informations please?
Thank you, really appreciate. Was completely lost regarding all those things.

Is it the official global dev rom ? Thank you
Another question to install my new rom, which version of TWRP should I install ? There are many version for xiaomi (wzsx, FireDance-Edition, and many others). Is there any difference ? I just want TWRP, but I don't understand why there are so many different versions of the same recovery for the same phone... Someone understood that ?
EDIT: a user from xiaomi.eu told me to take TWRP FireDance-Edition for the many languages included. Is it a good choice ?

Well, 8.12.20 it's based on MIUI10. If you want to go Beta, just flash 9.1.10 Global Beta, that it's the latest build.
There's a ton of guide on official en.miui.com, just follow them!

My goal is not go Beta but to install Havoc. In the first post of the rom he says, first install 8.12.20 and then flash the rom. That's why i'm asking for that specific version.

9.1.10 is better than 8.12.20, and as I said on Havoc thread the 8.12.20 is the minimum base firmware required, not the only one.
Feel free to try what you want
Other than that, use latest PitchBlack Recovery (based on 3.2.3 TWRP) as recovery.

Interesting. Which miui version would be better to take? Is there one more stable than the other? Is it better to install the latest beta and flash havoc on top of it?
Thank you for pitch-black recommandation. Seems to be a fork of twrp, what your motivation to go with that one instead of twrp?
Your help is yeally appreciate Thanks you for taking the time to answer those questions.
I would stick with whatever the ROM maintainer recommends for firmware. See link got -perfect example of why:

Download the correct firmware from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...a-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.4003455/
Place it in the root directory of your SD Card and do a local upgrade via Settings > System > System updates > Cog Wheel > Local upgrade > point to firmware you downloaded.

Thank you for your reply. Do i have to do all updates in order ( 10.0.0.5, 10.0.0.6, 10.0.0.7 ... and so on) or does the last one 10.0.0.14 contain all previous updates? Does this update wipe my phone data or will i have everything left on it.
In case of update 10.0.0.14 there are 2 update files, do u know witch one is the last and witch one should i download?
Thank you

No you do not need to update in order. Just pick the latest version ( or version you want) and you're good to go.
The BA version apparently has two zips for the .14. One was what was available pre Feb 2021, and one that is there on the EU support site now. I'm not sure what has changed between the two versions though. Maybe someone else that knows more can comment on that.
Just be warned that if you do go Android 11 and want to come back to Android 10, you will need a data wipe to come back.
Thank you for your help!
I`m downloading now the .14 version from official website and doing the update.
Thanks again and topic can be closed if needed.
