I have an LG G4, which came with a 1.8A output charger.
I am wondering is it okay to use another charger I have thar has a 2.1A output? As in will it damage the battery over time?
I have heard the G4 supports quick charging so I'm guessing in that case it would be okay.
Thanks in advance.

As long as it is at least 500mah you will be fine. With modern phones the phone controls the charging rate so even if you get a 5 amp adapter it won't hurt anything (as long as the voltage is right, of course) as the phone will only pull what it needs.
Hi first of all sorry for my poor English,
I don't understand much about electricity so
I was wandering if i charge my xperia s with the nexus 7 charger, wich is a 2.0A vs the 1.5A of the xperia s one, can create problems on the phone?

No. Just don't charge your N7 with the XPS charger.
And don't charge XPS with the N7 charger.
It's fine, you can mix and match, the phone will just draw what it needs. My Xperia U came with a 0.85A charger, I use my HP Touchpad 2A charger with anything that needs USB charging and it works fine.
Just dont charge sxs with n7, n7 can charge with sxs though

You can charge any device with any charger using USB ... it will max out at 5V ....
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Every charger with usb are 5 volt
Inviato dal mio LT26i con Tapatalk 2
Thanks for your answers but now im more confused! So the thing it counts is the voltage not the ampere? Sorry the ignorance!
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Yes, basically you need the same voltage, all USB chargers should be 5v, as long as that is ok the phone will only draw the amount of amps it requires.
There was an topic about this.
Someone confirmed that the max loadcapacity was 1550 mA.

After a month with my SGS3, It suddenly acts dodgy. It would charge horrendously slow.
Well, at first i thought it was my stock cables so I replaced them with a flat-cord Micro USB cable that I bought at the local market. It was fine for a week then bam!!!! My second cable starts to act dodgy too.......well NOW it FREAKED me out cause i thought it was probably my phone that has problems cause it won't connect to my pc. after plugging it back to the AC, My phone recognizes it as "USB" and it will only charge @ 450 mA which is painstakingly slow....
Need some people who are also experiencing this and how they solved it, if they had.
I am currently on CM 10.1 and also tried OMEGA 34 but the problem persists. THANKS
On a side note:
Can we have a proper explanation as to why this happens in the stock sgs3 charger?
Does heat has anything to do with it? Because my usb cables sure is hot after a charge..
Well whatever it is, I hope for someone to give us some insight regarding this problem.
yep its true !
i replaced my charger
try contacting SC.
Might do so

Can you recommend me a good charger that charges this phone as fast as the stock charger?
I might skip the try contacting SC part.
1. It's a hassle
2. The SC here in my country is F***ed up!
3. I am rooted and ther is no way I can return to stock because of Destroyed cables! the nerve!
Change charger and cable. I had same issue. Samsung should look on it.

So with this many people having problems, Samsung should REALLY look into this as this is not a MINOR problem especially because THIS PHONE is a FLAGSHIP DEVICE. Mind them......this is bad for their reputation!

Strange thing is that I've never used the SIII charger. I upgraded from the SII and just kept using the charger from it, since it was already plugged in. Sometimes, laziness has it's benefits!
Well I'll be damned if I ain't Lazy!

Lucky you. My stock usb cables are pretty much nothing but fried copper wires covered with rubber or with some sort of material.
My second cable was murdered too !!!!!!!! (Damn you stock SGS3 charger!!!!)
I might learn a thing from you or two.
I have never used the charger that came with the phone I have always used HTC chargers they are very good and the build quality is good.

How did you checked that your phone is charging at 450mAh ?

Download Current widget from play store. It will allow you to monitor the current that your phone receives from the charger..
Hey I've recently wanted to use the fast charge widget by Chad but I can't seem to find a decent kernel that supports it.
Is there a reason the feature is left out? I figured it would kind of be standard to custom kernels.

Working on bringing back into mine.
I used snuzzos all the time but he pulled it after 1.5. And 1.5 doesnt play optimally with one xxx 6.0.2. I miss it because I'm on a car charger more than a wall charger.

What car charger are you using that doesn't pick up as AC already? As long as you aren't using one that advertises iDevice support, it shouldn't need fast charge.

Some off brand charger. Idk. Now that I think about it the charger may be bad. It shows ac charging. It didn't act like it was charging at all the other day. Wouldnt keep up well in an area with no service. But the one in my personal vehicle and my wall charger do well. Lol either way I miss the fast charge.

Ermahgerd Kernel supports fast charge but read the first post instructions very carefully.
There are some ppl who say fast charge isn't all its cracked up to be. It does not make ac charge go any faster. I bought a Rezound compatible usb cord and an official HTC plug separately off amazon for like 30 altogether. Beats having to wait forever using another manufacturers charger.
Sent from my Rezound using Tapatalk 2
Make sure your charger exceeds the fast charge rate. A 2 amp charger would certainly be large enough. 1 amp would be too small.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Just buy a real charger which follows the USB charging specs, and be done with it. Problem solved.

Follows the USB charging specs? So you mean 5V 500mA? I prefer a charger with 2amp capabilities, so I know there are no issues when using fastcharge. When the phone detects a car charger or computer USB port, the kernel regulates the current to 500mA or less. Telling the phone to pull more than 500mA from a computer or car charger will probably just damage the charger, depending on the rating.
But a two amp charger with fastcharge should charge at 1.25 amp or so, and it won't damage the charger.

Where can I buy a genuine Samsung charging cable in the UK?
All the ones on ebay and amazon seem to be fake.

service center. warranty(yes)=free cable|||| warranty(no)=pay for it!
Tried Amazon?
Personally I feel the official cables are poor quality. The generic I bought are much better

Maybe the battery charger is faulty, but I'm pretty sure its the cheap cable thats causing it.
Could be an incorrect pin layout
