Hello everyone. I managed to get my hands on an HP 7 Plus tablet, not the Slate 7. Here are its specs right here.
I have managed to unlock its bootloader and also root it. Now, I want to flash a custom recovery. As the processor is Allwinner A31, I thought I'd give the CWM recovery built for Onda v972 right here a try. But I wanted to be careful and as there was no way to backup the partitions without a custom recovery, I used this tutorial to create a partition dump. Its a surprising 512MB file whereas the CWM Recovery file from Onda is only 11.1 MB.
Here is the grab from when I did cat /proc/partitions:

Please tell me what to do? Should I go on and flash the Onda based recovery? Or create my own custom recovery? Help will be appreciated.
I think I might have posted in the wrong section. If I have, I'm extremely sorry, moderators but please move this to the proper section so I can get feedback and possibly, a solution.

Hello guys, I really want to flash my Galaxy 5 so i can use custom themes and run Gingerbread, but i am baffled by the vast amount of information ive read and to be perfectly honest i havent a clue what i am doing.
Ive read 3 tutorials (The huge flashing/official roms one, Clockwork Mod v4 one and how to flash and install CWM) but i am struggling. First of all I'm using Windows, i open ODIN and i put in the OPS file and i try to find the .tar file to install ClockworkMod but it isnt there, i have attached screenshots of the files i have from the things i have downloaded from the tutorials.
I just generally need a noob friendly tutorial that will help me to flash my Samsung Galaxy Europa 5 running stock Froyo, rooted with Universal Androot.
I will greatly appreciate every single reply that will help me to get Gingerbread and some awesome themes.
Thank you,
Curtis.

i'm assuming that you have solved this?
Yeah aha, this was when i first started to flash, managed to do it myself (I was rather stupid and extracted the zip file)
Anybody tried this for the Mega? It frees 600MB so it's very useful for those who have the 8GB version. Here's the link for the XDA thread.

I don't think it's possible at this point (unless I'm completely wrong). It appears that you have to flash this in recovery (as it is a zip file). Since you cannot flash these zip files in the stock recovery, you need a custom recovery which we have not been able to get on this device yet. Until we get clockwork mod or TWRP working for this device, we can only flash via ODIN. Anyone with a better understanding please chime in. I certainly don't want to post incorrect information. This is my understanding. I actually hope I'm wrong. I would love to be able to do full rom backups (boot, partition, cache, system, data, etc.) like we do in cwm or twrp and be able to flash zip files. I know of no other way other than custom recoveries.
Hello, I have a no-name tablet and I want to root it as the 1GB internal memory does not allow me to have lots of apps on it.
Horizon HC700D is the model.
I have attached some screenshots from SIM-INFO app which shows model name kernel version buildID etc.
Can someone please help me root this?
When rooted how can I find which are supported ROMs for this tablet?
I dont expect to find custom ROMs for this specific brand but I don't know how to search for information on which ROMs might be compatible with this model.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.

cpu seems to be mt6577 (mediatek) so u should try MTKDroid Tools to get rooted.
if only...
Any idea or hint or any kind of insight on what or which rom this tablet should be equipped with?
Thanks in advance
Does anybody have an idea of how can I find a compatible rom for this device?
I have tried a rom for mt6577 but did not boot on my me device.
Is there a different way to track a compatible rom?
Hi
need your help. Bought this phone from Ali Express, sold as Huawei Honor 6 but it is MT6572. Instead of 4 GB RAM it has I think 1 GB. Storage is 8 or 16 GB intead of 32 GB. Processor is MT6572 not 6592. Now I wanted it to display its right spec so that I can use it accordingly. I rooted it and installed CWM recovery and made a backup of original rom. After that I went to needrom and downloaded different roms to try out with SP Flash tools but here the disaster struck. I bricked it with the first flash. I didn't loose hope and kept trying. Only rom which worked was this one from needrom http://www.needrom.com/download/alps-honor-3c/ . Only problem that touch screen didn't work with it. so I could not root it or install CWM to go back to the original one . I am including the pictures from original phone and if needed can provide the backup I made. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Still waiting for some kind of help
Hello,
I clone one firmware from one who s working, but when i try to write it it say wrong scatter, i u like it i can upload it.
I purchased a TV Box from a reseller to just learn it's kind of an unknown box... I was able to flash another firmware (In fact, 5-6 firmware "works") but
1) Wifi XR819 doesn't work
2) Remote doesn't work
Supposed to be, Quad Core A53, 450GPU... I used PhoenixProUSB to flash the images, as said, quite a few worked (I've been trying for 2 days zillions of IMG)
I would gladly put back the original firmware but I have no clue where to get it... Anybody know this box? Underneath, nothing relevant "STB model: HS_PVR_Pro_Dec_2020"
