I've noticed that google play keeps updating apps that have been already updated. Same apps are being updated with the same versions of software over and over again. Has anyone noticed this? I was not able to find references to this issue on the internet.
how do you know the app is updating to the same version? it could be that an app is releasing new versions very often.

Is anyone having problems with updating to the latest Aldiko or mVideoPlayer versions on the Market? The updates wouldn't install for me (I'm on rooted stock) and I lost the versions I had. The MSNBC app is also FCing since I updated it. I'm leery now of updating any apps, in case this is a problem with my device - although other apps are updating without a problem.
What is the latest version of Google apps for the G Tablet? I am running Cyanogenmod 6.0.1-Beta4-Harmony and Froyo 2.2.1, both installed December 2010. I have gapps-mdpi-tegra-20101020-signed.zip installed but have found some bugs in the Google Calendar app as well as some other minor bugs and would like to have the latest version of the Google apps on the tablet.
Related, or unrelated, I have problems with Market not wanting to download the latest version of Google Maps, version 6.1, I believe? The Market application tries to begin downloading the Maps app every time I start the Market app but never begins to do so successfully, much less, of course, finishes. Many other apps have been successfully updated while I have had this problem for the last three or so weeks.
Any ideas?
Previously, when Google Play was still the Android Market, my device was rooted, but there were no issues in app compatibilities. But after Android Market was integrated to Google Play, I had compatibility issues on almost every popular app I searched, from Facebook to Youtube.
The only get around to this is to unroot my device, start all the way from the oldest version of Market and wait Google to OTA update the Market to Google Play.
Did Google implicate more restrictions around app accessbility in Google Play with rooted devices in and is it safe to root back again without going through this same issue?
No problems here. Some of my launcher icons broke and needed to be re-done, but nothing else.
Sudden massive app incompatibility usually happens when you screw around with DPI settings. Don't screw around with DPI settings.
hi all.
i use to run old versions of my gmail and maps apps (i just like some legacy features) but recently i noticed they got updated in the background (not due to the play store, i disabled its auto update feature) and, if uninstalled, they even get restored to thier latest version after a reboot!
how can it be? could it be the latest google play services update?
thanks a lot for any thought you wanna share
Only way I see this happening is if the auto update feature in google play was enabled. But since you said you disabled it I'm clueless. I have my settings to not update and have never experienced an app updating on its own unless its updated on their end.

hi and thanks for your reply.
yeah, it seems this is just limited to google apps.
i can confirm it's not related to the play store setting. i also have other few play store apps i don't use to update and there isn't any issue with them.
i still have a feeling that it could be a new play services feature...
Hello Guys! Today, I opened Google photos app and it said to new version available update the app and it took me to playstore but in playstore it says the app is up to date. I checked from apkmirror and i seen newer version which is not available in playstore. I Installed the photos app from apkmirror.
Can i update the app automatically from playstore as i installed it from apkmirror and i also seen a newer playstore version in apkmirror. Can i install that? Does the other devices receiving faster updates than our device? Why there is a version gap in our device and in apkmirror?
Today i also received September update. How many of you guys installed it. Are there any changes or is it the same security updates we just receiving?
if you are not beta tester, playstore wont show those apps! also many apps are market based! perhaps playstore is not offering that particular app to you at that time and place!
