A few months ago I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S5. And until yesterday all were working right. But, without any change, since yesterday I can't activated the sleep mode not with power button and neither with screen look time... I have installed some apps for this function and they can block the screen as maximum (not switch of the screen) the screen is always working... I've tried to restore as company and nothing... Could somebody help me?? Thanks a lot.

Hi, so, I have my SGS3 for almost a week now. Using Omega v27 and enjoying every second of it.
One thing bothers me (besides the dialer ) - it takes the phone a good 2 seconds to turn on when i press the power button. I'm not talking about restarting itself. I'm talking when the phone is on, there is no app running, and i lock it. Clicking the power button should bring up the unlock screen, but it takes a whooping 2 seconds for it to turn on.
On my previous Galaxy Mini, it was instant.
Is there any way to fix it?

I have the same problem on every S3 i have ever used in my hands.
Its called "wake up lag"... 1.5-2s - its normal and I hate this so much!!!
It´s the time samsung need to wake up modem and so on after going to deep sleep (5s after switching off). You can download some software tools to prevent deep sleep, but its not battery friendly...
Its not a software problem - its a hardware problem - No... its a Samsung problem.

I have never had that problem. I really have no solution apart from a wipe but it definitely seems a issue as I have never faced it.
Sent from my GT-I9300
This is not a problem.
It was there in my S2 after ICS update.
It is present in S3 also and it takes a second before lock screen appears after pressing power or home key.
you have to live with this.
It's Samsung's 'wakeup lag' that seems to appear in every one of their Android phones.
No way to get rid of it other than to flash AOSP/AOKP roms I believe.
Hi everyone !
I'm new here (and not a native english speaker, so apologies in advance for any grammar mistakes)
Before making this thread, I looked for info here, but I'm not sure for what to search.
I'll try to explain my problem here.
I bought a Galaxy SIII from my provider 3 weeks ago and everything looked fine, till last week.
Some times to time, with no apparent reason or cause, while my phone is on sleep mode, on my desk, or in my pocket, playing music, I have the following problem: when I push the on/off button to wake up my phone, my screen is turning on, taking me to the lock screen.
But, my screen brightness is very low, like set to the minimum.
And when I draw my unlocking pattern, screen goes black.
Bottom buttons are lit and my phone seems to be OK, I can feel haptic feedbacks.
But the screen is black.
If I push the on/off button again, screen stays black and bottom buttons are not lit anymore, as a usual Sleep Mode.
If I push on/off again (depending on how much I wait between 2 on/off):
- My phone awakes from Sleep and takes me again to the unlock screen, brightness still very low. And after the unlocking pattern traced, black screen again
- If I didn't wait enought after putting it into sleep mode, in this case, I don't have to redraw the unlocking pattern. I'm back to my home screen...
for 1/4 of a second, stilll with brightness at the minimum. And screen goes black.
And after a serie on onoffonoff, boom, my screen is back to full and normal brightness and everything is OK.
At the beginning, my phone did that once in a while. I thought at the time ti was after pushing the on/off button while using a CPU/RAM hungry app, my phone struggling to recover....
But now, it's totally random.
Depending on .... I don't know what, I have to do the onoffonoff thing 2, 5, 10, 50 times in a row so my phone can recover from is half comatose.
Yesterday, I could not use my phone for half an hour ...
and if someone calls me, I hear the ringtone, but screen stays black.
I can answer the call (but not knowing who's calling) by sliding on the part of the screen where the slider normally is.
Funny thing is about removing the battery. It doesn't solve my problem.
When I do so, my phone boots, I see the "Samsung Galaxy SIII" boot screen, on low brightness (whih is not normal ...)
After that, I normally have another boot screen with my provider's logo and tone. But screen goes black again (but I still here the tone)
Then I realized it started to happen when my phone proposed me a Samsung update.
I tried to reset my phone to factory settings but it didn't work, the update was still here.
For a while I thought my problem was solved, because my phone behaved normally for 3 or 4 hours, without problem.
But it came back.
I found on the internet several "almost-same-problems" without proposed solutions.
Like checking if the proximity sensor was blocked by a protective transparent plastic sheet, or a case.
I tried to to remove mine.
Didn't work.
Some people said it was linked to their phone trying to acquire a wifi network.
My wifi on or off, withiin or without the range of a wifi router didn't work ...
I tried to note things down about what I did, when, how, app launched before the problem appears.
I checked battery info (temp, voltage, etc).
No pattern emerged.
So.
Hs anyone of you enountered the same problem ?
Do you have ideas, solutions I can use ?
Or maybe a voodoo prayer ?
I could sent it back to my provider which will bounce it back to Samsung. But it will take ages (3 to 4 weeks ...) :'(
Thanks in advance !
do a factory reset, go completely stock
if that doesn't help, send it in

That's what I did.
I tried by going into the Parameters menu, and reseting.
I tried by booting my phone with Vol+ / Home / Power buttons to access a console mode and do a wipe data/reset.
The problem is that my phone got an update like one week ago from a 4.?.? to 4.1.2.
And even with a reset, my phone reboot with the 4.1.2 version, which seems to cause this problem.
Or maybe not, but I can't be sure.
As I said, after a factory reset I did yesterday, everything went well for 3 or 4 hours and the problem reappeared.
send it to the service
Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9305T rooted and running Android 4.3 with Touchwizz.
The problem I am having is that the screen will not turn off and pressing the power button will not lock the phone. Holding the power button will bring up the device options menu (power off, restart etc) indicating that the button itself is still functioning.
Restarting the device will boot to the lock screen, however the screen still wont turn off and after unlocking the phone once, you can no longer lock the phone.
In the phones settings, under battery it shows that it doesn't even register the screen as being on or the phone being awake (see image) however the phone is still completely functional aside from the issues stated above.
This problem occurred after accidentally dialling emergency services from the lock screen while watching a video on my computer and absent mindedly spinning my phone in my fingers. As soon as I saw it was dialling I cancelled the call and took the battery out. When I started the phone I noticed the screen wouldn't turn off and the phone wouldn't lock.
Hoping I wont have to do a factory reset, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Have same problem with my Alcatel Onetouch Fierce 2. Fairly certain it's from this Kingroot in my case. However I don't know enough to prove this. I started using apps to lock the screen for me but they started not working as well.
The Capactive Touch buttons on Galaxy S2 does NOT dim or goes out automatically & rather radiates a strong touch screen light, even after the "Touch Key Light duration is altered to various intervals (1.5 sec or 6sec)" . The two Touch light only goes off with the Phone's Screen timeout or manually (pressing the power button) .
It was never like this till last week when the Octa-LCD inside my SGS2 broke & today when i changed the complete display assembly of the SGS2, i got to take note of this peculiar & harassing problem only now..which is eating up my mind. What's happening &why? Was the Screen replacement Not correctly carried out (done at my Authorised Samsung Service Centre) HARDWARE problem or is it due to any Software issues? (Samsung Service Centre did say that they did no software job, only just a screen replacement i.e a Hardware job on my SGS2)
i'm Rooted, on JB 4.1.2, Stock Rom with Siyah Kernel !
Though Samsung have offered me to replace my screen for a second time in a few days ( they dont have any more stock of the SGS2 scrren at this branch), but i myself NOT Sure..what's causing the problem ? (Everything in my SGS2 is running fine except this stressful quirk which was Not there before).
.'m at a fix ,please Help me with your advices ASAP !!!!
Have you tried flashing a different kernel like Apolo kernel 4.15b or try an older version of siyah kernel 6.0beta4.
I don't really think it is software problem if it was working perfectly fine before.
HELP my SGS2 !
Thanks @gsstudios for the good advice !
...but is there any app/mod for the SGS2 that can control the capacitive buttons light settings, other than the system settings for the SGS2 like the one> Galaxy Button Lights https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.notquiteinsane.galaxybuttonlights&hl=en (works for SGS6 but not in SGS2)
I'm Not quite a Flashholic, neither do i get much time to tinker around ..so any other quicker way, except flashing a different rom, to control the light settings?
* 1 important thing Maybe ...when my Phone with the "New" screen was booted for the first time, the "developer options" & "adb debugging" were left enabled by me ( to backup my contacts , messages, etc) Could this have any detrimental effect on the capactive button light settings? I have thereafter disabled/enabled those options & rebooted the phone many times but nothing simply changes !
Btw, if all other functions of the phone is Ok ( i checked the phone's sensors with CPU-Z & everything was running fine) & the Screen touch response seems perfectly ok ,then also can this capactive button quirk be the result of Hardware manfunctioning /defect arising from the very New replaced Samsung Octa LCD itself? // I did not install any new apps, nor me,nor "Samsung Service Center" did anything on the Software part of my SGS2 recently //
Currently, only two options for those Capacitive button key lights work :1) always on & 2) always off & i have opted for choice 2 to save the distraction from the glaring/disturbing light of the capactive buttons & mainly to save some battery power !
So,if any body else have a great idea to fix the light quick , i would be immensely thankful to all !
i think u should reflash stock firmware and see if that fixes it.
yeah, Zyfloss, as you said it & i also similarly thought...i reckon the problem has been solved as of now with thë flashing of the SGS2 official Stock JB 4.1.2 Rom,the capacitive lights now seems to be working normal, timing out automatically after 1.5 sec or 6 sec as i want it ! Anyway, Thanks to Everyone who saw my post, tried to help & replied ! :good:
I've bought this phone around february/march 2018. I've been using an LOS 15.1 unofficial rom last updated april/june which has been working perfectly, no problem besides no VoLTE but i don't mind this.
I booted the phone into recovery (longpressing power button, then selecting with touchscreen the "reset option". It turned and then couldn't select any button via touchscreen. The phone reseted itself by the first time and got into this! Now touchscreen don't work (so i can't turn it off -it just restart when I longpress for 5 secs the power button), can't unlock it because I set it to ask me the pin on every reboot..
As a sidenote, the phone fell of my desk like 2 months ago, and changed it's entire screen tile (the LED and the glass) for another one because the original one got shattered and made the device unusable. I'm thinking it's a malfunction of this module (or maybe something disconnected? Is this possible)
Anyway, tomorrow i'm going to ask the guy who changed it for help. BUT, is there any other possible fix guys? Or a hard keys combination to completely turn it off so I don't get more messages and save battery?
Thanks a lot!
Just flash stock MIUI via adb n it will work ?
