[Q] How to recover IMEI? - solved - ZTE Z7, Z7 Max, Z7 Mini

Hey guys so i messed up today and spent a while flashing all the way from CM11 > 1.64 > 3.09 > 3.22 > CM12.1 and now i have lost my IMEI file :crying: and can no longer make calls essentialy turning my phone into an ipod.
I still have files from c:/nubia backup/ but i have no idea what to do with them. it contains nc.qnc, bluetooth and some persist files. I tried using nubia restorer on 3.22 but it didn't work so i tried to flash to cm12.1 to test my luck out but nope didn't work.
Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks guys :crying:

flash back to stock recovery v3.09 or v3.22 open up adb and factory ports *#7678# download and install QPST configuration and choose the port of your phone, select start client and "software download" then press restore tab.
You will have to find the backup file (nv.qnc) made in c:/nubia backup folder. if u need any help pm me

I, i just tried it with my (nv.qnc) file because i'd lost my IMEI and MEID. It worked, but since when I enter my PIN code, the phone boots, but 10 second after it answers pin code again and again. if I try to restore the imei an other time it says "the ESN of the phone does not match the ESN of this file containing RF calibration data".
Could you help me? Thanks!

[Q] IMEI is correct but no network detected MT65xx

First I'm so sorry if my question is similar with another threads. But I'm pretty sure I have been looking for the answer around the internet and of course XDA developer for a week. I follow every guide and method I found. But it still not answer of my problem.
I flashing camera driver I've got from my friend backup using TWRP backup. Actually I only need to choose uboot only to install. But I'm in hurry so I accidentally choose everything includes NVRAM. Since then I've got wrong IMEI on my phone because the IMEI overwritten with my friend phone. But it's not a problem because I can restore my original IMEI with MTKDroid & Tools.
And the problem is my IMEI is now back and corrected. But there is no network detected on the phone. SIM card detected fine. When I go to EngineerMode by pressing *#*#3646633#*#* and open Radio Information on CDS I saw IMSI field was unknown and Radio Status is turning on and off rapidly.
What I have done is :
1. Full flashing with the stock ROM via SP Flash Tools.
2. Change the IMEI with MTK Droid Tools
3. Change the IMEI with AT command ... echo 'AT+EGMR=1,7,"myIMEI1"' >/dev/pttycmd1
No result. IMEI is correct but no network.
I believe this is not a hardware problem, so please help me to solve this problem. Because it's my only phone to communicate with my whole families. I really appreciate with your help. Thanks.

THL W8S : IMEI invalid after few flash

Hello everybody,
I bought recently my thl W8S, and I was experiencing some troubles with the battery charging (taking 10 hours) and my GPS connection.
So I decided to flash it via CWM. But I'm very new in the flashing and all this stuff. I tried a lot of things to get CWM , even thing I didn't know.
The problem of my IMEI came out atfer I installed this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19319421&postcount=23
The recovery installer apk, I just click on it and when my phone rebooted, I didn't have any access to my SIM management, no more coverage of course.
I tried the *#06# and my 2 IMEI are just marked as "INVALID".
Since yesterday I tried few different operations to get if fixed but nothing is working.
I tried to use the engenering mode (menu CDS, Network information) and send the AT command with the IMEI but I got an error message : AT command is failed to send.
Then I tried to recreate the MP0B_001 file with some tools I downloaded. And I put it in the right folder (/data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MP0B_001) instead of the old file. I reboot my phone, still the same trouble.
I'm kind of desesperate right now.
Any thoughts / ideas?
I can't find the stock rom to try to flash it with Odin ..
Thank you
Hello
I tried to do this but I can't send any AT command , error message is : AT command is failed to send
Any other idea please?
Hi, Did you finally managed to fix the imei issue? I have the exact same problem.
I have the exact same problem. Who successfully solve this problem?
If you didn't back up your efs partition then the only other allowed way is to send it back to the oem.

need help to restore my IMEI

hi Guys,
First, I apologize for that I'm doing the hundredth post on this topic
and secondly, I apologized for my "google translator english" (unfortunately I can not so good English because I am from Germany)
to my problem
I had the "Cyanogenmod 11 nightly" ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S 3. By the time the system was slow and I have flashed the latest CyanogenMod Rome via Odin on my phone. After the reboot, I had no connection to the mobile network, my serial number consisted entirely of zeros and my IMEI was not like it is in the battery compartment.
I have now spent several days trying to find a solution but for all IMEI Restore tutorials have not brought with me. Unfortunately, I did not know much about even before the Android system per se and the EFS folder and have therefore no backup.
I tried the IMEI
restore the NV_data.bin + NV_data.bin.md5 methodResult: IMEI was still so wrong seem right that my IMEI is no longer located in the System
restore with the downgrade to a German MG6 Android versionResult: IMEI was still not rightrestore using tools like QPST + nv ReaderWriter or EFS ProfessionalResult: EFS Professional -> Qualcomm NV Tools (after efsprofesional the mobile phone has put into the correct USB mode) -> connect to my phone broke off as soon as I wanted to read or write
QPST + nv ReaderWriter -> gave me appear not correct port on my phone
all the drivers I have installed clean and tidy. After further investigation, I found out that I need a special UARTcable this (and maybe a Z3X Box or something similar?)
My question is
How can I get now establish a new nv_data.bin file that includes my right IMEI
or whether (if it is really expensive) someone is so net and created me such a file
my Hardware is Samung Galaxy s 3 (i9300) (unbranded) (may u need this too: i bought it in germany)
I only want my own IMEI and I do not think out a like or I like to personally via PN or so to sample photos (for example, a predetermined word from the person) and the battery compartment of the phone with the IMEI
for I illigalität knows that it is illegal but not his own restore its IMEI change, because you paid a lot of money for his mobile phone and the IMEI is jointly contain. Who's afraid these publicly to write here because this information could be misused can I enjoy writing via private message. I would be very happy
Now im trying again to solve my problem with this Tutorial -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT42ri37RBU
my preperations:
im installing now a fresh windows 7 on my Laptop
i flashed I9300XXUGNG3_I9300DBTGNG2_I9300XXUGNA8_HOME.tar.md5 (SGS3 Stock Firmware DBT with android 4.3) downloaded with the SamFirm tool from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
i rooted my phone with Odin3 and CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5
i put the usb debugging on (settings > options > about device > [clicked 7 times on Buildnumber] that activates the developer menu and i put usb debugging on in settings > options > developer options > usb debugging)
i´ll post the results
dont work for me becouse "ONLY for US variants. It DOES work on Qualcomm CPU and DOESN'T work on Galaxy International Version with Exinos CPU!"
someone maybe got antoher way to fix it?
@sLeCks:
1. Flash last firmware with Odin (again), go to recovery immediatly and do factory reset.
2. If 1. doesn't help, try Ariza patch.
3. If 2. doesn't help, let it repair by Samsung-service (cheap).
Firmware Update dont restored IMEI (got still 0049 imei)#
Ariza patch wont help it just restore the baseband (like written in the Thread "wont help if u goot a 0049 imei)
maybe it works if someone got a i9300 (intl) (exynos NOT Qualcomm) and a z3x-box or another. i send him my right imei-number he backup his efs folder and create the right nv_data.bin file for me. then he send it to me via email or he put it on uploadet in ecample. i download it in put it on my phone and restore my imei.
maybe i think is a full efs.img backup file better xD. if this way work it would be the best i think.
Ißve called some mobile reperature stations an mony of then dont do an imei-restore. i got one and go now to him maybe he can help. but if someone got a box and a old sgs3 i would be sooooooo happy if he could help me.

Hi guys,
I have Redmi Note 4 Global version (SD625 4gb RAM 64gb storage). I had a problem about IMEI and tried to fix it. Finally i fixed it, but now when i insert the sim card, phone recognises the sim card, asks me pin code. No problem till here. After entering pin code, phone unlocks but there is no service all the time. When i try to make a call it says "Turn off airplane mode to make a call." and "RADIO OFF" in the screen, as i marked in the photo.
In the Hardware Test section (*#*#6484#*#*) sim detect "passed" as showed at the picture.
What i did for fixing;
1. Flashed china developer rom; did not work,
2. Flashed global developer rom; did not work,
3. Flashed NON-HLOS.bin file from gobal developer rom via fastboot adb; did not work,
4. Flashed gobal stable rom; did not work,
5. Flashed NON-HLOS.bin file from gobal stable rom via fastboot adb; did not work,
6. Tried to flashed .qcn file from another Redmi Note 4 Global version but get an error on this and could ot do this,

you should ask for .xqcn or .qcn file of working redmi note 4 mobile here or in community , then you restore it. It will restore all baseband in your mobile and surely solve your problem, but it will also restore IMEI of that mobile in your mobile, so you should try this with your nearby users which can easily support you and later you can change imei with your own IMEI
here a link of smilllar situation and has .qcn http://en.miui.com/thread-545300-1-1.html
you may try it your own risk
I have another Redmi Note 4 global version. I will try vith it.
say thanks
thanks broooooo
My problem is solved. I restored qcn file from another redmi note 4 global, and gsm serice is back.
In fact, i tried it before but got an error says "The ESN of the phone does not match the ESN of this file containing RF calibration data" so i had cancelled the process. But just a little time before now tried the same way and got same error. I googled it a little and found a way. I checked "Allow phone/file esn mismatch" option and the process succeed. And nothing happend to my origina IMEI.

If someone could share a xqcn file for a Redmi Note 4 (2016102 model) with me. Have the original Imeis written down from the box. I backed up my own xqcn, but obviously since my imei is gone I cannot find the adresses to edit them back in.
I have same problem Radio turned off and MI service center advised to change motherboard which will cost almost price of a new phone. Will this issue also cause because of a hardware issue?
Hi to everyone and very sorry for not replying. I didn't get any notifications from the app for your posts.
I had opened the same topic at mi forum. Here is the link: http://en.miui.com/thread-686524-1-1.html
You will find more information there.
For Any Mi Device if radio is off
first need to flash with edl or fastboot mode for any issue related to network baseband imei radio, but after all there is no luck
for Radio off you need to write QCN only with any tool like UMT,CM2,Miracle,Qpst and etc whatever you have you need to read a fresh qcn with same model phone using tools and write on your damaged else search on internet for qcn and write with same tool of qcn backup after this process reboot your phone and check your imei if all is well there no need to do anything else need change your imei with original imei and enjoy your phone
---------- Post added at 02:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:56 PM ----------
write any qcn file for same model and change imei with original IMEi by UMT/miracle no need to change qcn in ultraedit software if you are not much expert you can fix in few step easily bro using this kind of tool ask if is there any query

[GUIDE] Restore baseband - K6 Note - when no IMEI/no outgoing calls/WiFi or BT issues

Hi all,
I just wanted to share what I did when I had a few problems with my Lenovo K6 Note - karatep.
What did I do which ruined my phone?
I unlocked my bootloader, still on stock ROM, haven't installed TWRP yet.
Since then no calls on non-VoLTE network like Vodafone/Airtel/BSNL.
Primary SIM doesn't connect to any other network than 4G.
I had installed CM15.1 ROM with TWRP and Magisk root and I had the same network issues.
When should you follow this guide?
You have problems with network connectivity where you can't make calls on 3G or 2G network.
Primary (data) slot doesn't connect to 3G or 2G.
No signal on either one slot or both the slots.
IMEI shown as null or 0.
WiFi and Bluetooth address either different or shown as unavailable.
Rebooting to fastboot and performing "fastboot erase modemst1; fastboot erase modemst2" didn't work for you and lost your IMEI and/or WiFi and Bluetooth address.
Do not reboot to fastboot and execute "fastboot erase modemst1; fastboot erase modemst2". I lost my IMEI and MAC because of this.
Requirements:
1. Your phone needs to have root access.
2. Your original IMEI numbers and WiFi address, you can find them from your phone's packaging box.
If you don't have your IMEI, better use an IMEI from an old/dead phone of yours. Don't google this up, there can be blacklisted IMEIs.
Steps:
Preparing the .QCN file for restoration
Download and install UltraEdit (you can google up this for the link)
Download and install Qualcomm QPST/QFIL downloader (google it again)
Download IMEI Converter (find it in the attachments below)
Download .QCN file (find it in attachments, this is for Lenovo K6 Note - karatep)
Get your IMEI (for both the slots), WiFi and Bluetooth addresses
Open IMEI Converter and type your IMEI. You will get the hexcode for your IMEI, get the hexcode for both of your IMEIs. Copy the hexcodes.
Open the .QCN file with UltraEdit and search for "08 8A 11 11 11 11 11 11 11" (without the quotes). This is the dummy IMEI in the file, you have to replace it with your phone's IMEI.
In UltraEdit, goto find and replace, search for 08 8A 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 and replace it with your IMEI's hexcode. You have to replace the first hexcode with the hexcode for your second slot's IMEI and the second hexcode with the hexcode for your first slot's IMEI.
Search for AA AA AA AA AA AA and replace it with your WiFi MAC address, this has to update your Bluetooth address as well, there are four places where you have to replace it with your WiFi MAC address.
Save the .QCN file and close UltraEdit.
Enabling DIAG COM port on your phone to download .QCN to your phone
Execute in command prompt.
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
Click to collapse
This will enable the diagnostic port on your phone.
Restoring .QCN to your phone
Open QFIL as administrator.
Connect your phone to your computer, keep your phone powered on with DIAG port enabled.
Goto Tools -> QCN Backup Restore
Browse your edited .QCN file
Don't change SPC code - leave it as such.
Select Enable Multi-SIM.
Click on Restore QCN.
This will take some time, once done, restart your phone.
Voila! Your IMEI, WiFi and Bluetooth addresses should be updated and network should be able to receive signal and place calls.
Please feel free to reach me if you run into any issues, I'll try my best to help you!
Thanks,
tfr!

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply, we have a bad network connection here due to the lockdown.
Coming to your problem, karatep simply refers to K6 Note, so you have done the right procedure hopefully.
Can you see the IMEI when you enter *#06# in the Dialer?
You're on stock ROM right? Where did you get it from? You did a full flash with QFIL or a ROM flash only? Please note that ROM flashes can be dirty.
If you can see your IMEI, please try the following in the order I've mentioned below.
1. Check the network settings and select the proper network type. Especially if you are on Jio, set it to LTE only, make sure that the non-Jio SIM is set to GSM only. This is the most common problem.
2. Perform a full system reset from recovery, must solve the problem usually.
3. Try lineage 15.1 or 16.0, you'll be able to find the links here, they are really stable and worth upgrading.
4. Full factory flash with QFIL, you should be able to find videos on YouTube, else let me know, I'll be happy to help!
Let me know the results.
Happy to help!

Thank you for the reply,
i do see my imei when i enter the code, Its the sn number that has been changed..
and about the stock rom part, I didn't do it by myself, i had given the phone to a repair shop earlier to fix the issue, this was before i flashed the QCN myself,
i flashed the qcn from a youtube video and all that guy had told was to have stock rom marshmallow, the repair shop had flashed a marshmallow rom so i figured it would do.. but i dont know what tool they used to flash it..
i used QFIL to flash the QCN though..
Let me try the factory reset solution and if that dont work i ll try to flash stock rom again...
for the other two,
1. The network settings are inaccessible for me(i tried to attach screenshots but its asking for URLs)
3. I really dont want to use lineage OS if i dont have to..
let me try the other solutions and i ll let you know..
thank you so much for helping me..

and about the stock rom part, I didn't do it by myself, i had given the phone to a repair shop earlier to fix the issue, this was before i flashed the QCN myself,
i flashed the qcn from a youtube video and all that guy had told was to have stock rom marshmallow, the repair shop had flashed a marshmallow rom so i figured it would do.. but i dont know what tool they used to flash it..
i used QFIL to flash the QCN though..

Hello,
You cannot do anything about the serial number, there is currently no way to restore it, it should not limit the functionality of the device.
Is your phone rooted now? Do you have TWRP installed? Try resetting the phone from TWRP. If it doesn't work, restore stock rom with QFIL. Restoring with QFIL will reprogram your eMMC chip and revert it to stock, TWRP will be removed. This will give you the cleanest possible install.
For flashing QCN, you don't need stock Marshmallow. I'm on Lineage 16.0 and I keep changing my MAC address with QFIL, that is not a problem at all.
I'd like to see the screenshots, you can add them as attachments... Use the paper clip icon above, else upload the image to Google Drive and put the URL here.
Happy to help!

Here are the screenshots
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1Bxed7rCpd0MoVbnZCSGtJBjAlmgVkF1r
And no my phone is not rooted and nor is TWRP installed..i was planning on rooting it as a last resort..
I m now currently downloading the stock rom file..its nearly completed..
Should i try rooting it before flashing stock? I dont want to risk another brick cause of rooting

You don't have to root if you're flashing with QFIL.
How did you flash the QCN without root anyways?
Again, what network are you in?

i followed this youtube video..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-4tmWvTGiI
i remember reading about it somewhere.. you only need to enable diagnostic mode to flash QCN, and many phones require root to enable this port, and some other need root to unlock to bootloader..
but k53a48 phones have unlocked bootloader and diagnostic mode port can be enabled easily like the guy in the youtube video..
(power off and press power button and volume up till a screen comes on and then connecting the USB, the PC installs the diagnostic port..
this is what i think happened.. i had zero errors during qcn flashing and i hope i didn't do it wrong?
I Have idea network if that is what you asked
The ROM download is complete..so i ll start flashing then?

It's correct that you have to enable only the diagnostic port to download QCN, but I'm not sure of the procedure that you describe here....
K6 Note doesn't come with an unlocked bootloader by default, you'll have to manually unlock.
I'm not sure of the technique that is shown in the video, the general procedure to open the diagnostic port is through adb. But if you are sure that the IMEI is flashed correctly, then there's nothing to worry about I guess.
Again, you're going to flash the S223 ROM using QFIL right?
Your network is fine, it's non-VoLTE, so calls should work if you have restored the QCN properly.
I m downloading the rom from a link in the description of a video..there were multiple stock files and i asked the youtuber and he told me download this one..
Lenovo_K6_Note_K53A48_K53_USR_S306_1709051329_Q00440_POLK_QPST
This is the one that i downloaded.. why are there so many stock files anyway? Is this right? Else
Would flashing stock using lenovo moto assistant application work?
Some people in xda had success using lenovo moto assistant..but the application asks for HW code and I cannot find my HW code from my sn number- HNB1GDX3 ,
No calls are not working, even ussd codes arent working..does that mean that even the qcn flash was done wrong ?:crying:

Hello,
The file seems to be correct. You should install QPST and use it to flash the ROM file.
Lenovo moto assistant might work, I had no success with that though.
The QCN that you used might be probably dirty, I'd suggest you to reflash with QPST and try burning the QCN again. Generate a new QCN before you do.
Sir, I Did custom ROM flash for lenovo K6 note, with twrp and lineage OS 16, after completion of ROM flash, although I have IMEI number, wifi MAC address in about phone section
My problems to FIX:
------------------------
1) Need Volte support(VOLTE not supporting for my JIO SIM)
2) *#06# IMEI code not working(IT shows "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." although the IMEI numbers are available in About phone category under settings)
3) In settings Bluetooth address "Unavailable"

Hey FayazD,
What you've mentioned seems to be a common problem and I couldn't really find a fix.
1). VoLTE doesn't seem to work. Before writing this post (restoring the baseband), no other calls except VoLTE ones worked for me. After restoring the baseband, 3G/2G calls work and VoLTE doesn't work. I'm not sure if there is a fix for that.
2). This could probably be an issue with the ROM itself. Try to flash a different ROM, I recommend AEX, which I'm currently using and is very stable.
3). The Bluetooth address issue again is something which I observed in Lineage 16. It shouldn't affect the functionality, except for the changing Bluetooth address on every reboot. Not sure if it is an issue with the ROM itself, try AEX, this issue isn't present there. Again note that the Bluetooth address could be shown as "Unavailable" when Bluetooth is turned off.
Will update if there is a solution for the VoLTE thingy.
