Stuck on TF700t upgrade to TWRP v2.8.7.0 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to upgrade my TF700t to run TWRP V2.8.7.0.
so that I can run omni-5.1.1
I've tried letting the TWRP app do it...no good.
Booting to restore does'nt show the TWRP-2.8.7.0
It is currently running,
4.4.2 bootloader
CyanogenMod CROMBi-kk
TWRP v2.6.3-that3
On the SD card is,
BaNkS-dynamic-gapps-5.x.x-8-10-15
omni-5.1.1-20150811-tf700t-NIGHTLY
omni-5.1.1-20150811-tf700t-NIGHTLY.zip.md5sum
twrp-2.8.7.0-tf700t
UnLock_app_V8.apk
UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46
I am stuck on getting TWRP to
upgrade before I can go any further.
What am I doing wrong, and what steps do I need to do?

Want to install 4.4.2, but cannot enter recovery

Tablet is rooted. Tablet has unlocked bootoader.
ROM Manager reports that I have recovery installed - both TWRP and ClockwordMod Recovery 5.8.3.4.
I want to update to 4.4.2 but when I go to try to boot into recovery, via ROM Manager or just manual hold volume down and power, I get the dead Android on his back with a red exclamation. No matter what recovery I try I get this.
Any thoughts on how to get out of it?
Ok.. I used this process to successfully flash the FlatLine CWM Recovery! Which I can now boot into that recovery via RCK selection and recovery bootup (power + vol down key)!
Not sure why the other recoveries were borked... but the key is the FlatLine recovery allows me to boot into recovery.
So this allows one to at least boot into a recovery and make a backup.
BUT this will not, I found out, allow me to install 4.4.2 (CM11) since you must use a TWRP or CWM recovery to install 4.4.2 (CM11) as FlatLine will not allow it
So then I use the same above Fastboot method to push a CWM recovery for the TF201 - fresh download of 5.8.3.4 - since I need a CWM recovery to intall the 4.4.2 (CM11) and... no joy. I push it by fastboot, boot into recovery, select RCK and it says it is going to "booting recovery kernal image" and then just hangs.
so still stuck. Any thoughts? I need to get to a kit kat and tf201 compatible CWM or TWRP recovery to flash the new ROM but I am stuck. I can only boor into the FlatLine recovery, but that does no good now.
So.... I opted to install TWRP 2.7.0.0 and that installed. I was able to boot into it, backup, and then tried it all again and.... FAIL!!
I get the same failed error... ugh!
So a ROM Manager install of 5.8.3.4 CWM fails to even boot
So a Fastboot install of 5.8.3.4 CWM fails to even boot
So a Fastboot install of TWRP 2.7.0.0 boots but fails to allow the 4.4.2 (CM11) install
So a Fastboot install of FlatLine boots but fails to allow the 4.4.2 (CM11) install

" Note: Support Status
This device does not support the newest version of CyanogenMod. This may be due to hardware limitations or simply because development is not yet complete. The last version officially supported was based on the jellybean branch of CyanogenMod. "
I believe you cannot run kitkat cyanogenMod as far as I know because you need cwm 6.0.+ version that isn't there . However there is a method to install kitkat on tf201 . I say so because I am running latest version of cyanogenmod snapshot m8 android 4.4.4 on my tf201 . There is just a simple matter of flashing recovery for tf300t ( well when I say simple ... ) on your tf201 .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773812
take a look at the link above . To install crombi-kk you flash twrp recovery version 2.7.0.1 (I think check the version I don't remember) . however there is no such version for tf201 . I never installed the actual rom but I played around and notice after doing step 2,3,then 2 again (in crombi-kk upgrade instruction) my device won't run cwm for tf201 but works fine with tf300t version of cwm .
I am talking from experience and there is always a chance of bricking as this is not an official guide but I think its what I did .
I was on twrp latest version of tf 300t and I installed cm snapshot m8 android 4.4.4 for tf300t device successfully . after using the rom for a while I noticed hangs when your device was on sleep and you wanted to wake the device , it just wouldn't turn on which forced me to hold power for like 5-10 sec to force a reboot.
I solved this by flashing cwm 6.0.4.7 for tf300t via fastboot . Again seems like development for tf201 and also tf300t is going to hell . so you won't find this version of recovery for tf300t on cwm site .However if you google latest kitkat recovery for tf300t or smthing like that I'm sure you will find it . These I think are ports from other people than acutal cwm team ...
One thing is for sure ... Cyanogenmod cm11 require cwm 6.0.+ or twrp 2.7.0.1 ...
Edit : as always do a backup ... and MOVE IT OUT of internal SD since for some reason it formatted all my data on internal plus my backups ... I messed around with more stuff though . but just in case be prepared for a formatted internalSD ...
I think I bricked it for good this time
I now can no longer fastboot in, so I cannot change recovery apps. I can boot into recovery - TWRP.
I boot up and I no longer have the USB plugin icon and fastboot will just no longer allows me to push a new recovery - says no device present despite having done it 20 times earlier. WHich sucks as I had a TWRP and Flatline recovery saved, an now I am stuck on an older version of TWRP and it does not see the TWRP recovery I made from a newer TWRP version.
This happened when I updated the bootloader to Hairybean.
So I am stuck in a circle where I can boot into an old TWRP, cannot push a new recovery, bastfoot seems borked and the tablet won't boot into Android.
I am sorry to hear that . I can't see where you wen't wrong to the point that broke fastboot . The post no.4 in link above has step to step instruction .
There is always APX mode (if you have backups) . I personally haven't worked with it but you should be able to do a recovery ...

Edit : take a look at the other Thread you posted . you might be on the right track after all .

[Q] Asus TF300T TWRP and rom flashing

I have a Asus TF300T that I had BakedBeans on, until I tried to flash to KatKiss. I tried this on TWRP 2.6.0.0 (current version of TWRP installed on my tablet) I saw that it was unable to flash, so I researched and I was told I need the newest version of TWRP to install the KatKiss rom.
Since I have no OS on the tablet (wiped when I tried to install KatKiss), and when I plug my tablet to my pc I get "unrecognized usb device", I am limited to using the external card to do any modifications to the tablet.
I went and got the newest version of TWRP and tried to install it through the TWRP manager, but it says "select zip to install" and the file is a .blob (I don't know how to update TWRP through the main menu I guess)
I have no idea what I should do. I would like a new rom for my tablet, but I will be ok with reverting back to an older rom if that is not possible.
What should I do?
using bootloader version 10.4.2.20-20121228 please help
I managed to find an old version of BakedBeans and installed it, but I can't figure out a way to update to the newest version of TWRP without using the PC USB method, help please.

What is the latest recovery I should be on? KatKiss-5.1.1 TF201.

I have flashed KatKiss-5.1.1 TF201 and now I am on a TWRP 2.8.3.0 for the tf300t.
I want to upgrade my recovery. Should I upgrade to the latest TWRP for tf300t? which is TWRP 2.8.7.0
or should I upgrade to the latest TWRP for tf201? which is kang TWRP 2.8.7.2?
Does it matter? if so how? Does this control how my prime is recognized by the laptop?

I recently unlocked my prime and falshed KatKiss 5.1.1 v28. I used the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62296949&postcount=590 to get it done as my PC wouldn't recognise the prime in adb mode. The second link provided in the post updated my recovery to kang TWRP 2.8.7.0. Everything pretty much went smooth from there, not really sure if you would need to reflash your ROM after updating recovery tho

Semi-Bricked after installing TWRP 2.6.3.0

TF201 on JB 2.31 [4.2.1].
After successfully unlocking the boot-loader, rooting and flashing my stock TF201 from 4.1.1 to 4.2.1 I wanted to take the next step to 4.4.4 using the instructions from here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773812
So I d/l'ed the files to my micro SD and using the TWRP app from Google store updated my TWRP from 2.5.0.0 to TWRP 2.6.3.1, booted into the recovery console (RC) and was
asked for a password.... Like so many other TF201 owners. The TF201 still functions fine, I can even get past the password screen in the RC but it does not see the SD card slots
so I can not flash to 4.4.4 (my ultimate goal is to install Lollipop). I was able to revert back to TWRP 2.5.0.0 using the TWRP app but when I boot into the RC it still ask me for a
password. I have read through the threads on fixing it via a PC and am thinking that is the next step, BUT I don't want to completely brick it. Right now I have a usable tablet.
Is there anyway to fix this without having to use the SDK option?

IT'S ALIVE!!!!
I found a thread on here that told "me" I should be using the TWRP version for the TF300T [not the TF201] because my TF201 is using the 2.31 JB boot-loader running 4.2.1 android.
Went ahead and using instructions from YouTube on how to update TWRP without using a computer; updated to TWRP 2.6.3[TF300T version] (I had TWRP 2.6.3 installed, but it was
the TF201). Didn't work the recovery was still asking for a PW.
Now thinking WTF, I went ahead and flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 (for the TF300T) and BLAM no more asking for a password when I access the recover console. NEXT stop 5.1.1 IF I can find
my microSD card (Keeps popping out).

TF201 Boot loop with TWRP 2.8+

I don't know if anyone will respond. I successfully unlocked bootloader via tool and flashed TWRP 2.8+
But I think the problem is that I didn't know which JB bootloader I was using and just tried to flash via instructions from KatKiss 5.1.1 v30 because I've been flashing since Nexus one days and thought it would be the same (I'm stupid). Anyway I somehow managed to flash a different ROM but now stuck on a boot loop and obviously can't get access to Asus stock OS. KatshMallow 6.0.1 still loaded on the tablet with gapps but that won't boot up either.
I tried to adb sideload CM12.1 but it failed. Anyone know how I can get any stable ROM up and running with just using TWRP or adb sideload?
Thanks in advance
When it's starts up can you see which bootloader you're on now?

What do you succeed to do following my tutorial ?
