Extract a .pac(packet file)
Hello All,
I need to install stock ROM into a soft bricked MicroMax bolt a27 in which only fastboot mode is currently..There is a SpreadTrum upgrade tool for the purpose but Im not able to get it working ,this tool uses a .pac file(packet file) present inside the firmware directory of the downloaded stock ROM and appears to have many files in it like system.img etc.
Is it possible to somehow extract the files from this .pac and then use fastboot?
Please suggest.

Hello there,
I accidentally flashed a wrong boot.img with sp flash tool. I can still acces CWM based recovery. I do not have a ROM or boot.img backup and was unable to find either one online. The phone is an Alcatel one touch 916D, since Alcatel is open source, I downloaded the source code something.xz file (sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/OT_991D_20120718.tar.xz/download), it should be possible to flash this to my phone using Odin right? I tried so, but Odin does not detect my phone. So I was wondering, is it perhaps possible to extact/create a boot.img from the source code file I have? I unzipped it and there are the folders kernel, mediatek and webkit. I have not found a boot.img anywhere in the files. I hope someone is able to help me.

so i want to extract the .pac file and take out the .img files and then install it via fastboot method !

Hi,
I tried uploading back up of rom taken from SP flash tool but file size is huge around 1.6GB. Alternatively CWM back up is small size of 333MB so you can use cwm back up to flash your phone. the link to download rom is as follows: -

Just extract the folder and store in your sd card. Do not overwrite or rename any file. than flash cwm recovery using sp flash tool. use this guide to flash cwm if you don't how how to do the same:-

Hello. Did you check if the bakup is working? Did you do a recovery from it at least once? I tried to install your backup on a TCL S720 phone which is the same phone (95% sure....) and it didn't work. It said on CWM recovery "Flash failed". I want to mention that the rom files you uploaded should be in the root of the zip file not in a directory. I've archived the file directly in the root and it didn't work. Any idea? Could you upload the whole rom, the 1.6 GB one and paste the link here please? I know many people is looking for it. Thank you.

I restored this nandroid from alcatel ot flash 6042d on to my TCL S720
The restore process went well,no errors,but the rom is not booting it is in a boot loop.
I tried substituting boot.img from tcl s720 but no luck,I even tried patched boot.img,no luck either.
So,I hope someone with mad porting skillz will be able to port this alcatel 6042d rom to tcl s720.

Hey Jhalife,
Could you send the CWM Recovery because my phone is bricked and I can't possibly make a custom recovery at this stage. I have a TWRP so I can install CWM Recoveries.
Sorry if this post is not in the correct subforum but I think this is the right place. If not please, a moderator can put it in the correct place. I readed the ROM from my phone (MTK6572) with MTK Droid tools and I made a backup of my ROM. I loaded it again in my phone and it works without problem. Now I'm trying to make changes to the ROM. Change the build.prop and install an apk. I use MTK Thai Developer Tools to unpack my system.img and I'm able to do it without problems. Afther make the changes I repack the file with the same tool and I get a file called system_ext4_new.img without errors or warnings. Now I rename the file to system.img and overwrite the original system.img in the folder "!Files_to_flashtool". I'm able to write the ROM back to my phone with SP Flashtools but the phone doesn't work. It try to start but get stuck and I have to remove the battery. I have tryed to simply unpack my system.img and repack it whitout changes but the problem still remains. So I'm thinking that the file that I get from MTK Thai Tools can't be used in a ROM that will be flashed with SP Flashtools. What I'm doing wrong?. I need another tools to repack my system.img and use it with SP Flashtools?

you will find it in your stock firmware folder.... if you don't have it then search it in google and download your stock firmware and extract the folder and you will find stock recovery.img and then send it to me......

Not boot in recovery
Sir I flashed recovery. IMG using sp flsh tool but after that i reboot into recovery but it show i screen "no command" . When i press volume up + power key it automatically reverse in stock recovery . Please help
