[APP][XPOSED]unWatch - Full ROOT support for Airwatch-secured devices! - Xposed Framework Modules

Yes, you read that correctly.
unWatch is a module designed to allow power android users to have root/xposed/insecure bootloader on their devices without indicating to AW servers that this is going on.

}
After:
This module has been tested on the HTC One M8 on both GPE and Sense ROMS.
Usage:
1. Install.
2. Activate in Xposed.
3. Reboot.
That's it. Once you've rebooted, you should be able to install the AW client on your device with no other issues. Your device will not report that it has been rooted or "compromised" and you can do whatever the heck you want with your device.
Note:
The intent of this app is NOT to circumvent security policies that may be in place by whomever is making you use AW. Aside from enabling root-features, it does not circumvent any other features of the suite. PIN, launcher, email, power, etc. restrictions should still be in place.
Additionally, as the module fakes AW out to only install packages for a "generic" device, it is possible that further development will be needed for scenarios where, say, a profile is assigned ONLY to a specific manufacturer's device.
Again, the main goal of this is in scenarios where YOU own the device, but work is forcing you to use their software.

I'm not sure...it is developed specifically for people who have to use the Airwatch MDM software...

Can you make it or create an app to make it universal to spoof apps to think the phone is an original phone with stock bootloader framework and rom?

Unfortunately, no, it doesn't work like that. There are many different ways one can tell if a device is compromised, and probably no one way to account for all of them without inadvertently breaking other things that *need* root/insecure boot image.
This module Is made specifically to deal with the way AirWatch is doing these checks...which is pretty poorly, TBH. I'm not doing anything with the ROM itself.
I believe what you're describing is more or less the module "RootCloak", which is a behemoth of an undertaking compared to what this does.

I used your rom on the note 2 and loved it. I will be flashing your clean rom next week once i get back from my trip, but i figured id flash this to mess around with while im on my trip first. (my own funny way of doing things)
Im awaiting the postman who is late so i can open up my HTC ONE!
I looked, maybe not very well, but what is the newest or most recommended radio for this? i found the radio threads, but was just curious as to what you use Scott.

I've looked around and it seems it has been an issue on previous HTC phones including the one, so it very well may be an HTC bug with some people, I was just curious if anyone (or all) running this specific rom were experiencing it. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. Again, keep up the great work!

I went into SuperSU after I rooted my SM-T330NU with CF-Auto-Root and it asked me if I wanted to disable knox - I said yes and it disabled it. I also installed Wanam Xposed and used the Security Hacks feature and Faked the system status to be set to "Official". I also deleted several of the knox system apps with Rom Toolbox Pro and it works great. I can still get OTA update from Samsung and no knox messages and knox is not tripped.
when t-mobile tab 4 was released it had a newer baseband n kernel than the other tab 4 devices, thats why towelroot doesn't work on it.
this was discuss in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/help/sm-t337t-looking-root-method-t2853724

If you root and an recovery becomes available (someone needs to make it) you should be able to install it.

I'd have thought installing a custom recovery stops updates, not rooting. CF root (which all of us use so far?) defaults to the stock recovery after installing supersu.

That guide is ancient and not applicable. You can only use root apps as intended if you have root. If KK 4.4.4 or Lollipop then no root and currently no way to get it. There is no downgrade to any rootable version if you are running 4.4.4 or above. I was happy to stay rooted with 4.3.
And we wonder why boot loaders are locked these days.

Just checked the "how to see if you are vulnerable" post/comment by a guy named Charlie (https://www.nowsecure.com/blog/2015...em-user-on-samsung-phones/#comment-2086888243)
If his method of checking is correct, NK1 would be considered vulnerable to this exploit. One step closer.
doesnt look like 5.0 has the vulnerability but from what ive read we can downgrade to nk1, hopefully

VZW Note 3 all Android versions (4.4.4 NJ6/NK1 & 5.0 OB6) are vulnerable. However, this gives SYSTEM (uid=1000) not ROOT (uid=0) access. SYSTEM user is capable of writing to many places on the file system, and this makes it easier to implement a weaponized ROOT exploit, if/when available.

Auto installation of root and busy box
SuperSu.apk
A stock build prop with secure storage set to false so wifi passwords and etc aren't forgotten after reboots.
Kernel set to permissive
Otherwise stock
So here's the deal. Stupid simple.
1. Download the kernel
2. Flash in recovery (if twrp asks if you want to install su say NO)
3. Reboot and profit.
If you need more detailed help go HERE
Download
TrapKernel
Special thanks to:
@g.lewarne for the obvious reason of being awesome and his root method for the s6. I suggest donating to him here [emoji14]
@muniz_ri for testing multiple tests
@jce8419 for testing also
@Chainfire for SuperSU

Flash it with odin. Reboot directly to recovery before going to android tho. Or it won't stick.

@ShinySide I know this is early in the game for this kernel, but do you plan on tweaking this at all? Just curious...

Great job man!

If I'm not rooted, do I need Odin or can I just flash the kernel with the phones OEM recovery? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Haven't been rooted in a while
lol

Not me. Try deleting data out of the wifi calling in application manager and force close wfcservice and toggle wifi calling
