So does anyone know how to add notification sounds, alarms, etc. to the system list on the HAM?
I can see for example with notifications, they are located at: device\system\media\audio. I'm on B321 using ES File Explorer and when I try to copy a file to that folder, it's a no go. I'm not rooted. There has to be a way to add files to the list of files when you are adding a notification sound in an app. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Just add the files to the notifications folder on your sd card... They should then appear in your list

Yeah, like with any other device I've had, that should do it. No Notifications folder on the sd card. There is no folder that says "notification" anywhere other than in the system folder.
Make folders either on your internal sd card or external sd card named:
Ringtones
Notifications
Alarms
And place the files in their designated places.

Hi there!
Is there a way to permanently add Alert/Notification Tones on SGS 2? I tried using an app called Ringtone Feeder but its tones do not stay after reboot. Any way to add custom alert/notification tones?
I have no trouble in adding Ringtones, the problem is only there in adding new/custom Alert/Notification tones. Is there any app which makes the sms/alert tones stay on even after rebooting?
I am on Stock XWKK2
I use Zedge on my SGS2 and the tones stay after rebooting, rooting or flashing zips

Cool. I will give it a try. Thanks.
You shouldn't need an app to do this. I just drop them in my sd card. Create the following folders:
/sdcard/media/Audio/Alarms
/sdcard/media/Audio/Notifications
/sdcard/media/Audio/Ringtones
I have put mp3 and ogg files in these folders and they work fine. You can even create them in the external sd card as well.

Defo best way as they always there to choose no matter what ROM you flash etc.
It's exactly the same way WM used to work back in the day of course locations changed but same principle.

I noticed something, whether on stock or custom roms the HTC one system doesn't update for files added to the internal storage. Take for instance if you add a ringtone to the ringtones folder from say dropbox or even a picture to the dcim folder. When you go to gallery or settings for the ringtone it doesn't show it there. The only way I've found to get the system to rescan the storage is by plugging it in to computer and then unplugging. In previous phones this was not an issue. Anyone know how to make the system rescan the internal storage?

Are you saying that if you copy a file to "internal storage" (like /Notifications), then plug and unplug USB, the files ARE visible to the system?
I asked a similar question in this thread, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247626

Yes it's similar. Once plugged to the computer and unplugged they will show up.

My internal SD card was not allowing me to update, for lack of space, so I moved the camera folder to my external SD card using Astro. There was a duplicate folder, so I chose to rename it. It went through all the hundreds of files, I saw through the progress bar, but when it finished, the created destination folder shows as empty. Files gone from original location. What can I do to make files show in the destination folder?

This is exactly why I never keep photos, videos and music on my SDCARD unless I have a backup. SDCARD's are too unpredictable for me to trust them with information that is not backed up in another location.
Greetings to everybody,
I would like to know where my LIB files (from lib folder from some app) are going when I move that app from sd card to internal memory.
Lets say I have XXXX app and i move that app on sd card, then im my root "/mnt/asec/XXXX/LIB/" I got those LIB files. But when I move that app from sd card to internal memory from settings I really can't find those LIB files.
*Tried to search those files with "Search" from Root Browser, was waiting 1 hour and still didn t find anything but the searching was keep going on..
Can someone tell me what is happening with lib files when i move an app from sd to internal?
Best Regards

you cannot move all folders to sd-card or generally in new path.
for example for whatsapp; that s the directory created by app itself and may use it in future
if you remove this folder whatsapp will recreate it when needed but maybe u miss some files from whatsapp.
(in Android 4.4.+ 3rd party Apps cannot create file in External Memory (only system app can do this))
sd-card is good for your media music, photos, videos
if you don't want to miss any important folder use this setting;
Settings > Storage > (scroll down) Transfer Data to SD card
:good:
Hit Thanks if it s useful

Already did that.
What I want to do is avoid whatsapp and other apps to save media in local storage.
Is that possible? Thanks in advance.

So App won't do this
unless u use Root App
app that get root access (so u need to root ur device and etc.)
example of pre-install app is Camera App that has option to store both in internal and external but other app cannot do this.
+ hit thanks Button instead of typing it

My phone's already rooted. So I have to find a modified version of whatsapp ?
YES you can do what you want, get an app called foldermount, with that you can symlink ANY folder you want (including WhatsApp, large game folders, camera directory or whatever) from your internal sd card to the external sd card.
Edit: sorry you will also need handle external storage from xposed for it to be able to use the external sd
Your welcome

I set spotify to download two playlist in order to be able to play them in offline mode.
Spotify alone is occupying 7gb of my internal memory. How can I move those files to the memory card (sd) ?
Folder mount
I tried wiping my SD card but it is asking for a PIN password.
I have no idea what is it.
I tried 0000 1245 but failed.
Does anyone know?
Any info in any of those XML files?

P.S. WhatsApp is saving media in the internal memory, right ?
Yep, whatsapp is saving to internal memory.
