My LG P769 V21d from Wind Mobile, Canada is soft bricked. Stock Jelly Bean. Locked bootloader. PC is Win7.
Goal: Root, CWM, then rename apks to remove bloatware
What I've done: Used Cydia to root, then installed SuperSu and BusyBox x. Used Artas CWM instructions for recovery. Made a CWM nandroid backup, saved backup onto a PC. Cannot do a normal boot. Tried recovery from my cwm backup but made no difference.
What I've got: Phone will boot to CWM recovery no problem. Phone will go into S/W Upgrade mode no problem. When booted or rebooting from CWM I get the error message " Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped", then a white "Encrypting" screen with a single "Reset phone" button, and no further. Sometimes it asks "Connect to Mobile Network, enable or disable". I cannot boot to anything.
Hard resets (Vol- Home power) we get a green Android character with a rotating molecular structure in his stomach, then back to Encrypting screen. CWM Factory reset goes back to Encrypting screen. Twice we saw a much larger Android guy in green outline on the Encrypting screen but the Android phone error did not pop up.

I can't post up an image yet. under "Ports" I have LGE mobile USB Serial Port (CM4), and under "USB controllers" I have LGE Mobile Composite USB Device. I have no Android device in my device manager list.
I tried Cmahindra's offline flash of my V21d image and it says my phone is not connected. When I run the R&D Test tool, Phone update section I get the following log:

I did not try to unlock the bootloader, and I don't really want to try a different rom. Please, this phone is in use now and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the reams and reams of posts that have gotten me this far.
Successful recovery from another person's CWM backup image
Try as I might I could not solve my encryption issue. Using poster TableChair's V20d cwm backup, I was able to successfully restore and restart the phone. While I am on Wind Mobile, Canada, his image is from T-Mobile. After setup, the phone works with Wind, and we are now functional. His backup is v20d and my original was V21d. Does this make a difference?
As a test I then tried reloading my original cwm backup. It again had the encryption problem. I fear that my original nandroid backup is useless, and I have lost my original setup. I don't know why my nandroid backup failed. I'd still like to recover it.
I do have my V21d original image. After we get over the shock and panic of yesterday's soft brick, and do another Nandroid backup, maybe we'll try to offline flash my V21d image. For now I'll work on getting rid of LG's bloatware.

Did you install CWM recovery after installing JB ??
If YES then use this link restore your phone to ROM of your choice.
If NO then unlock bootloader, flash CWM recovery and then download and restore nandroid backup for your phone.
also while downloading nandroid backup ensure that it is meant for your phone model.
REMEMBER AWAYS MAKE CWM BACKSUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING SILLY TO YOUR PHONE.

Ok i leave this post to future customers of this great phone:
Ok i have 2 asus (Mine is P5QPL-VM) and other P-573 AM ok. I use mine to install all programs and kdz to this phone, at first all was seem so right, but in first place when i tried to make an emergency recover and wrote mi IMEI this program would not allow. Ok i was thinking that was a problem with LG server. Install a bin when i was flashing and there was the fatallity.
The cell appears me with an green dead android and when i try to flash it with R&D Tools suddenly in the 8% stops and the fckn text:
The USB cable and your cellphone are not connected.\nPlease connect your phone and wait for connecting \nthe USB port for a while and press the Restart button.
OK doesn't recognize ok i unistall all drivers and programs from LG, i install again with same results i remove the battery presing volume (+) and connecting the USB cable and appears me the driver that suddenly desapears ok i install omap drivers with same result (doesn't recognize this phone) i use it Android_AIO_Flasher_1.40_by_Fonehacker trying to install a recovery (.img) from all reboot Menus possible i mean Normal, recovery, fast boot and nothing: Try unlock bootloader, flash CWM recovery, without success. I try with all again Lg programs to flash it but only remains disconected the phone.
My idea was trying all again but in other PC (P-573AM) not installing the phone, installing (ORIGINAL DRIVER FROM LG PAGE) i wait and install (HERRAMIENTA DE COMPATIBILIDAD DE TELEFONIA MOVIL LG) Connect the phone and when appear that driver willo not serve if not disconnected the phone i remove usb, then wait to all install i connect the USB again, goes to software upgrade, then to emergency mode, and THEN THE MAGIC APPEARS here in this PC, my IMEI automatically appears the just press ok and voila, the phone was recognized for the LG PROGRAM without stopping. Then just wait to upgrade was ready and THE PHONE WAS INTACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And my balls too)
This problem was for ****n drivers.

I flashed the V20F kdz file through the LG software through this link

I then tried to unlock the bootloader using this method:

I got to the part of flashing the V20B kdz and it was supposed to reboot with a backwards image screen, and the screen cut in half and reversed
However, mine only had the screen cut in half and reversed with the touches all messed up. The image wasnt backwards. SU also didnt work, and the recovery apk wouldnt install either.
I tried to reflash the V20F KDZ, but I get an error in the LG tool saying
"The USB cable and your cellphone are not connected "
However my device manager show the phone is connected.
Im stuck with a messed up screen now and nothing will flash on the phone what do I do? Please help

You have to have your phone on then run the offline flash, run diag mode. (I never had to use diag mode, but everyone else says to)

Another thing, you might want to do the Lelus root when you are flashing. Doing the other way might be harder with the touch screen all jacked.

I made a terrible mistake by repeating on my P760 steps shown on youtube: How To Fix Status 7 Error with CWM Recovery on Rooted Android! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW1znjDLe-k
Phone was downgraded with V10A_00.kdz and then successfully rooted. Next I was receiving status 7 in clockwork when trying to install latest CM 10.2. So removed line from file META_INF/co/google/android/updater-script

After installation I had LG Security Error. Manage to remove it using fastboot x-loader.img, recovery.img, boot.img (files from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39716305&postcount=7), battery is charging after this and standard animation appears again.
But still not possible is to install previous ROMs using Factory ICS/JB ROM WITH OFFLINE FIX as I getting problem with (_CheckPhoneType() Error) (checked on: V10A_00.kdz and P760_Orange(Poland)_V20I_00.kdz) in UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe

Is there anything I could do to resolve this?
Maybe in some manual way phone configuration can by restored?
Your phone is not recognized by the lg software. Try reflashing ICS xloader and uboot, put phone in SW mode and kdz flash

you need to restore your device using LG Tool, the original one from LG site, not the modded one for off-line update.
Download it from LG, put the device in software update and use the recovery option.
Remenber to modify your "hosts" file first, otherwise the tool cannot connect to LG database

:laugh: I manage to bring my phone back to life as Shifu said, using standard LG tool.
Original LG Mobile Support Tool and phone in recovery mode has been stopping installation on a very beginning with info that phone requires restart- I also tried this before as one of options without success. Now I give it a tray using and S/W Upgrade mode and that worked for me.
I Installed CLM and then a rom rebooted the from and got LG security error so ive try to place the phone into S/W mode and update offline but every time I try it fails saying The USB cable and your cellphone are not connected". Also it sounds like its not even recognizing the device but all drivers are installed.
My guess is I didn't successfully unlock the boot loader
Can Anyone please help me thanks.

You phone bootloader need to be unlocked first before install custom rom. On JB firmware offline flash program doesn't work. To make offline flash program recognize your phone you need to flash ICS u-boot/x-loader first via Lelus' fastboot script. The other option you can do is using LG mobile support tool to recover your phone.
YES YES YES this phone is unbrickeble :laugh:
After hundreds of times trying to get life in the LG i get the notis that when i put in the battery hold vol down + back button (left from home) + 1 time power windows see a glimps of a new device.
when you see this you have to follow this tread download the fastboot package en run the start.bat select option 2 and select a button then you see the device com up for a second when you press the button combination (it did it 20x for the scipt see the phone) if it go's well then you have a new xloader and uboot.
now you put the phone off.
put the phone in download mode vol up + power
if it is in down load mode you follow this tread now it is back to stock.

My bootloader was unlocked and rooted.
I had CWM 6.0.3.1 and wanted to upgrade to CM 4.4.2. For this i needed a newer version of CWM.
I had found this one
I installed the CWM recovery.img trough flashify.
Sinds then i can't boot anymore, i get only a LG logo.
I hope that someone can help me.

the phone doesn't react when i put in the usb cable, it doesn't start.
i can't update trough LG update tool
The phone don't get in software mode
the phone done't hard reset.

does some one have another option?
A new update i did the fastboot script and select option 2 P760 - Flash ICS xloader and uboot.
this worked and now i get the logo and security error
