Hello everyone, my laptop is terrible(almost dead at that) so I don't have general access to rooting through pc techniques. On top of this, I would rather not go through that process and instead use an on board rooting app. I tried towelroot (I use a SAMSUNG GALAXY A3), and to no avail. At first it gave me the phone not supported message, so instead I attempted to use the codes to do so. When I did, the make it ra1n button went orange and the application stayed in that state with no response. So I have a few questions.
1. Is there a way to fix this? I am trying to root fast so I can use the Xposed framework.
2. Is KingRoot a viable option? Is it as safe as towelroot, and will my phone data remain after using it? It seems safe, but I'd rather not take any risks currently.
Thank you for reading this, and thank you in advance for any help I receive.

Idk if this works but bump

HI everyone,
I know that this thread has been read and discussed probably many many times. But i know that the phone i have i probably the toughest one to root. I've searched a lot of sites ( unlockers, wiki android, xda and many more) for answers and i have to admit that i've tried only one, the one with goldcard(my rooting process stopped when i tried to flash the recovery and it said that there was sort of a mistake, i don't remember what exactly. I'm not saying that i haven't tried all of the possibilities to root my phone but i'm just asking all of You forum users to help me choose the right one so i won't worry to damage my phone somehow.
Looking forwards to hearing frm You people.
p.s.
I know that user: kad3t had the same problem and he somehow managed to root his phone, i've written him a message but he isn't answering so that is why i'm asking You.
This is the guide I followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253
I'm rooted and my phone is still alive

I created a thread so someone could help not tell me to read. If that was the case I wouldnt of made this thread. I never done this before and I heard about this a couole weeks ago. Ask me anything about car audio n ill give u an answer. This perticular topic... Its like reading chinese so if someone could actually help me. My streak is running 2.2

Hello everybody!
As I am well aware this topic might have already been discussed, I also apologize for posting this again.
I am not too experienced with rooting, flashing phones and so on. All I look for is to install supersu on a Galaxy S2 (gt-i9100) so that I can move a few apps in system.
Browsing for a few hours I have found a few one-click methods and also a lot of complicated ones. The thing is I do not need to flash the ROM or change the kernel, I just want supersu to work, that's it!
So far, the link I have found the closest to my requirement is the one on ibitimes link that says it's using the framawork app.
The guy who posted this says that it is taken from this site but I do not seem to find details on it.
I do not necessarily want to use it especially, I just look for a similar method. Please give me some suggestions if you could.
Best regards,
Vlad Nitu

Hi all,
I'm hoping one the XDA geniuses can help with a challenge I have!
I have a Viewsonic VSD243 I bought second hand to give to my kids but didn't realize it's a non-GMS device and therefore doesn't support playstore. Most of the apps the kids want need playstore so have been looking for a way to get playstore working without luck. Now I know why it was so cheap!
The bootloader is locked and I haven't been able to get to the bootloader to unlock as there are no physical volume buttons on the device and abd reboot bootloader just restarts the device...fastboot is not finding a device no matter what I try. I've been attempting various other workarounds for weeks with no luck (e.g. methods used for Huawei devices using apps like chat partner, ) but not had any luck
Please could someone recommend a method(s) to unlock the bootloader / root the device given the above (especially with the restriction of not having physical volume keys)? Ideally I'd like to create a dual boot on the device, one with existing ROM and one with custom (e.g. via Magisk) but can't get to root :-(
Your help would be really appreciated

I successfully unlocked and rooted a VSD231 with KingoRoot.apk just say no to all the junk it tries to put on it. I am going from memory a long time ago.
thank you for responding and good to know you managed with a viewsonic device. I'll give it a go as don't have many other options...
I spoke to Viewsonic and was told the only way to get playstore was to jailbreak the device and put on an alternate ROM...when I asked how to unlock the bootloader to do it they said they couldn't / wouldn't tell me :-( !!
When I talked to them years ago, they were very surprised that I unlocked and rooted my VSD231.
