The Iphone Lighting port can also be used to charge to the B611Q in around 8 hrs if you use charge with an adapter that output 3A (I can't confirm this but will get an adapter and update later).
I'm still of the opinion that if you're going to sell something for Android, then sell for Android.
He also said that the bulkiness is due to the fact that it was made to be rugged and durable...Unfortunately I not buying that. I would have to take it apart to see if the design is made to be shock absorbance technology built in....but my idea of rugged is that it meets military standards, or at least close to it...and with this i feel like if dropped it once it would most like be game over depending on how it falls....
REGARDLESS.
The B611Q is still by far the highest capacity power pack on the market...ignoring the size of it device itself and taking into account the change in design which was a major issue for me. I'm upgrading my rating to 4.5/5

Is the updated version a Matt finish? And special or not I don't they should have including the lighting connector port.. It takes a little over 11 hrs to charge using it and then the iPhone doesn't benefit from QC... If I was an iPhone user I would just get something cheaper that makes sense.

Yes the new version is Matt finish(old version in this photo), the lighting port could accept 3 amps input, so if your adapter and cable is powerful enough, you could finish the charging in less than 8 hours. With such big capacity, it would be good choice when going out with friends.
Did they announce that somewhere? I wish I could change mine for a frosted version..

Has anyone bought a solar charger for the G1? I'm going camping for 2 weeks soon and have been looking at the chargers but not sure about them. Anybody have good experiences with any of them? Satisfied with the performance and charge time? I've a 2600 mAh seidio battery.
Solar Powered Charger
Well, I was browsing around one of the numerous Chinese websites that sell random no-brand parts and accessories, and stumbled upon this:

It is a solar powered charger, and based on the specs, it says it can charge a RAZR V3. If I am not mistaken, charging specifications on the RAZR are similar to that of the G1. Any ideas? I couldn't use this, living in Oregon I would probably have to put this on the roof surrounded by mirrors.

There's probably better sellers than that and it's a bit more expensive than the cheap ones but you get what you pay for.
Tha advantage of this one is that it has a built in battery and removeable solar panels so once it's charged it's battery you can remove the panels and just take the little battery pack with you.

I have a Free Loader Solar Charger, and this is my experience:
The device itself is a couple of centimetres longer than the G1 and the same width/depth and well designed, it comprises of a battery and two solar panels that click onto the battery. It come with 12 different adapters making it very versatile.
The two small solar panels that attach to the device are very small and it takes about 2 days of (admittedly dull) English sunshine for it to reach a full charge. this is pretty impractical.
I purchased a larger solar panel produced by the same company, it has a USB port, so if you know how you could put a usb port on any solar panel and use it to charge this battery via traditional USB to mini USB. On a sunny day this larger panel took only 3 hours to reach a full charge. Making the device very practical and usable.
However even a full charge of this battery achieved via charging from computer USB will only power the G1 up to 60% battery level.
This is purely anecdotal but I get the feeling that this charge then runs down quicker than when i charge direct from USB or mains. Is this just me or could there be an explanation for this?
I use it by charging via the computer and then taking it along as a second battery. In an emergency a few hours of sunshine even with dull light will give just enough for a phone call.
Does anyone know if the charger pack u charge to act as a charger for your phone (when not near electricity)is compatible with the note? I've seen them but i didn't know if they are compatible with the note since it has such a large battery. Also does anyone have a link to one?

Yup. It's just shy of three full charges for my Atrix, which has a ~1900mAh battery. Should be two charges for a Note, give or take a little bit.

I was going to get that one, but it was just too huge. I can slip the Anker 5600 I bought into a jacket or pants pocket with the cable and it's just fine. No problems with portability. Charge time is equal to what it'd be from an AC charger in my experience so far, but I only got mine a few days ago.

Haha...sorry. It was about half-charged when I got it (2/4 indicator lights) and took two hours to charge to four lights.
I got the mycharge ones since the cables are built in. 3Ah and 6Ah depending on my needs (1 or 2 nights). I like them even though they aren't 10Ah monsters.

Most portable USB battery chargers do not support the signals that allow the Note to go to high current charge mode. Pins 2 and 3 of the USB connection need to be shorted with a low resistance. The Note senses this and switches on a high charge otherwise, it will stick to a standard USB charge of less than 500ma even if the battery charger can put out 1A.
I bought a Scosche 5000 mah portable battery charger that comes with a special USB adapter designed for the Galaxy Tab. I tested it with my Note. With the adapter, the Note charges in under four hours. Without the adapter, it takes overnight to charge the Note even though the Scosche has a USB port that puts out 2.1A to charge an Ipad.
Staples sells the Scosche battery for $80 but there is a $29 online coupon that is good until 3/5/2012.
Hmm... I have a rechargeable battery from Monoprice that I use with my iPhone 4 but I haven't tried it with my Note yet. It will probably only charge the battery about half way. Monoprice has good cheap rechargeable batteries to charge on the go if anyone is looking for something similar.
After a few more days with the Anker, it charges my Atrix and my Vivid at least as fast as my AC charger. Probably placebo effect, but it honestly feels like it charges it faster.
Why not just carry a couple of extra batteries and get a charging station for them? Seems cumbersome to have to have one of these attached to your device when you need more juice, when swapping out a battery is quick and has an instant full charge...?

If you're gonna carry something anyway you might as well just have a single, spare battery instead of a power pack plus a cable. The Note has such an easy back to pull off and swap. Bing-bang-boom.

As someone who used to do this exact same thing with the captivate, it's definitely convenient to carry, however the interruption while you take off the case, remove the cover, replace the battery/reboot, can get annoying especiallky if you're right in the middle of doing something.
I'm getting ready to take a long plane flight, and I bought some battery packs from monoprice just now, with the intention of using one of them up front while I use the phone, so we'll see how that goes.

Note sure if it's just me, but the minute or so that my phone is down to swap the battery and reboot seems much more appealing and convenient than having a battery pack dangling by a cord from my phone for multiple hours while it charges, or keeps it charged.
Not to mention how many spare batteries you could buy for the price of one external battery pack.

I actually agree partially, however I just found out that monoprice.com sells 2800mah battery packs for like $13 each. I just bought three:

That said, I likely will still buy an extra regular battery that I can just carry in my pocket. The main reason I'm going with the external batteries is because I'm getting ready to go on a trip with 15 month old twins to europe, and I can use these external packs to power up both my phone, and my touchpad (Which I need for playing childrens shows)

I received this charger and the first thing I thought was "wow, what a well built charger". The USB cable is really heavy duty and the wall plug feels really solid. I think the detachable prongs is a nice touch, allowing you to change them out for the European ones when traveling. The charger works just as well as the one from Motorola that came with my Nexus 6.
After using for a while, my only gripe is that the included USB cable is a little short. I have a hard time plugging my phone at my desk because of the range restriction. For the price though, that is a small complaint and overall, I'm thrilled with this charger. It's built to last and just works. What more could you want from a charger?

I dont want to clutter up the forums with more of the same reviews so im going to piggy back off of your review. Here are my PROS and CONS for the charger.
Pros:
-Thick cable
-Charges fast
Cons:
-No charge indicator on the brick
-Short cable
- A little on the large side
All in all I like the charger. Not having a charging indicator isnt a bad thing, since there is not a light glowing in the room at night. At the same time I like the visual confirmaiton that things are working sometimes, especially when you have a wallet style case, its just annoying haveing to openthe case every time you plug it in to make sure everything is good. I actually purchased a second one after having this charger for a few weeks becuase it simply worked. I have gotten a few of the off brand QC chargers in the past and they mostly have been crap. Just remember to hit up monoprice for a longer thick cable after buying the charger, unless you hae an outlet on your desk at.
Just got my review unit in. Can't wait to give it a go with its first charge! It's sucks though because I'm in the middle of testing some kernel tweaks for battery life... Blah. I'll be able to find out how it performs tonight. :3
So... Mine burned. I assume it's because my roommates used it today on phones not made for turbo charging and caused some feedback to a voltage regulator. Despite my warnings to not use it, they didn't listen and I'm pissed...

Would just like to share with everyone a good quality and very useful tool I've recently got hold of.
I've had and used a few different Choetech products and the quality is always amazing, the presentation when the products are delivered gives them a premium feel even though they are quite a reasonable priced product. I would say the quality rivals that of anker and aukey.
The cable itself works with any USB A charger and any device with a micro USB port, a USB A-C cable is also available for those who have a USB C device. The cable is just plug and play, once u connect to a charger the display lights up and when the device is connected you get readings.
I tried this cable with a few different devices and chargers but I found it especially useful for testing how good the fast charge chargers we're when using a galaxy s7, even though the s7 shows fast charging I found different chargers would give me more current at 9v.
For anyone interested in a good quality charging cable that is also interested in seeing just how good there chargers are this is a perfect product. I've also used the cable to transfer data to and from my phone as I wondered if this would be effected and I'm happy to say it wasn't.
For anyone in the UK interested I've got discount codes that are valid till the 31st of jan that make these or the USB C version £6 each. Hope someone finds these useful.

I just ordered and received one of these things to finally have one for monitoring. This thing was great and has actually taught me a few things i didn't already know. For one, I didn't realize that fast charging stopped the second I turned on the screen of the phone! That's right these phones jump back to regular 5volt charging when the screen is on. The second the screen goes off it's back to 9 volts.. Good to know when you are trying to maximize the charge rate. Anyways.. i digress.
So far this puppy has been accurate. I have used it on my S7 Edge as well as my htc 10 with a choetech micro to C adaptor. I am able to monitor and track the various stages of quick charging without disturbing the phone's charging. This cable seems to be well made and doesn't seem to be cheap. The display is solid and bright.
I attached some extra pics showing the display toggling between charging current and voltage. If you are looking for a simple USB current monitor with some forward capability I would recommend taking a look at this one.

Yes you can. But only Huawei has the 15w option. Others are limited to 5w-10w. At least I believe that's the case.
I just received my wireless charger yesterday.
I know some alternatives exist, but at least in Canada, 15W Qi charging options are as expensive as this charger was, so I chose the Huawei proprietary tech for the same price.
I am loving this wireless charger. I finally have quick wireless charging, and the pad feels premium.

Well, I ordered one of these from FastTech, and it arrived about a week ago. Amazingly quick shipping considering I bought about a dozen little el cheapo goodies and paid about $2 for the postage. The charging pad is genuine Huawei, in general anything on FastTech that outright claims to be genuine is. It came in a very nondescript tough plastic bag that held a white sealed box. Inside there is a meaningless tiny little pamphlet in Chinese, but why would you need any information anyway? As was mentioned, it doesn't come with a power supply - again, why would it? I crammed my official charging cable into it, works fine. The charging pad is quite a bit smaller than I expected, I guess it doesn't need to be anything more than it is - I would say about 2.75" in diameter and about half an inch thick. The surface is very 'grippy', I wish the TPU case that came with the phone was this sticky. Speaking of which, I throw my phone on the pad with the TPU case and it works fine. In fact, just in the name of science I just tried seeing how thick of material the charger would still work through, and it easily triggers through even 1/8" of paper - so this will work with *any* case that isn't made out of metal.
At first I thought that the placement was *extremely* finicky, because sometimes it seemed like it wouldn't trigger. I've learned since that it just takes a second or two sometimes no matter where you put it, so you just learn to trust it. The phone does have to be somewhat 'centered', but it isn't crazy specific. So, you plop your phone down and the nice green bubbly animation pops up with a pleasant sound, and the icon in the center shows that it is charging via lethal levels of radiation rather than safely through a wire. There is a very small LED under the lip of the pad, that lights up when it is charging. Obviously the LED on the phone will either be green or strobing for a notification while this is going on too. As far as charging speed goes, I haven't done any rigorous testing of any kind but it is most definitely not 'slow'. You put it down, and when you pick it up it has charged up enough that I have never thought "hmm, this is slow". Yeah, I know - real scientific. Oh, and the phone gets 'barely warm' when charging, and I do mean 'barely warm'. This is good, I've heard some combos out there result in a cooking hot phone - and that isn't good for anything.
Otherwise, not much to say. It is very, very nice not to have to plug my phone in - wearing out a charging port is an actual worry, and this way the bottom speaker isn't muffled to nothingness (a strange move, but when you take aggressive hyper efficient space and waterproofing into account it makes sense). One thing to mention, you obviously can't use your phone while it is charging. I mean you *could*, but you won't. If I had to gripe about anything, it is that the pad is a little thicker than I would like. It doesn't hurt anything, but if you have it teetering up on a high spot or something you will need to be a little wary about how you place your phone.
On a side note, not that anyone really 'needs' it in the real world, but don't forget we do have wireless charging in reverse. From reading up on it, the placement between two phones is *extremely* picky, and I would say that if both phones had a case it probably wouldn't work. The other thing they mentioned is that once you initiate a reverse charge, any movement between the two phones of any kind will break the connection - and it is a pain to get going again. Did you know we also have the option to charge something else via the Type C port? It is listed in the settings, I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere. That would be crazy useful - especially since we have SO much battery to spare. Think about it, you could charge wireless earbuds, bluetooth speakers, whatever. No idea at what rate it would charge (theoretically it could be fairly substantial) and of course the kind of cable you would need to do anything with this doesn't really exist... I am going to patch together a Type C to one of those 'multi-pronged charging ends', just to try this out. I have a very neat cable with one end that with one fixed end can fit both Micro-USB and Lightning ports - no one believes me, and honestly I didn't believe it myself at first either. When you eyeball it you think "now why aren't there more of these out there?"
Anyway, for the $20 this charging pad is a no brainer. It is legit, authentic, and works like a charm. One last thing - I swear I can feel the thing radiating from a foot away. I know that is 'impossible' given the inverse square law, but I'm not kidding.
