Hi, I have successfully rooted 5.0.2 rom on galaxy grand prime with cm autoroot for kit kat.
1. flash new 5.0.2 update with odin (if you had root on kit kat flash 2 times, it wont work first time) http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/54047/G530FZXXU1BOG2_G530FZOXA1BOG2_PHE/
2. boot 5.0.2 set up google account and install super su
3. download flash cm autoroot https://download.chainfire.eu/664/CF-Root1/CF-Auto-Root-fortunalte-fortunaltedx-smg530f.zip?retrieve_file=1
4. boot again - phone will reboot 3 times before booting into system and updating super su, launch and set up super su
5. download recovery.zip, extract and flash it, WARNING use this recovery only with G530FZXXU1BOG2_G530FZOXA1BOG2_PHE, it is extracted from this rom and it should fix boot loop after flashing the cm autoroot package
6. reboot and you have rooted lollipop on G530FZ
MAKE SHURE YOU FLASH recovery from step no 5 otherwise you will end up in boot loop
p.s. I am now working on xposed installer
It worked. Thank you very much
Thank you it works !
Done, but i do not had to flash the recovery, the device has not entered bootloop
Same question as always: and knox? Is trigered right?
Edit: nevermind. I already have my answer.

Yep. The stockstock recovery is different for each build. If you flash a G4 Stock recovery on a H3 firmware. It WILL flash and you'll be back to to clear data and factory reset too but you won't be able to flash OTA updates. Cause for that, you need the specific stock recovery for your current build.
Please provide the installation guide.
I am on stock NH3 but don't know how to extract stock recovery image. If guided, I can help.

brother you will hav to first root the set up an sdk on your computer then using adb commands you can get the stock boot image out(busy box should be installed on your device)
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p34 of=/sdcard/recovery.img

now i see 1 problem, how can we extract the stock recovery in kitkat, coz we need to flash the CWM or TWRP recovery first before we can root the device. i don't see any other method how to root our device without flashing first a custom recovery.

by flashing a prerooted ROM through odin or using CF-AUTOROOT..
I like the TWRP.. i dont have seen other problem Except that I BACK UP my ROM using S5 PORT ROM. After backing up., i installed the CM11 latest version, after an hour i RESTORE the S5 port rom that i had BACK-UP. But i cannot RESTORE it because it does not appear. What i need is COPY the BACK-UP from EXT-SD CARD to SD-CARD then RESTORE it. Is that the bug or that's the way of restoring it?
REQUEST..
sir Ali.Filth and Techmate98 can we request a FLASHABLE TWRP directly via CWM.. thank you sir. MORE POWER..
Android-secure partition
Is android-secure partition not available in our device or that TWRP 2.7 doesn't have that option? Because many apps in SdCard and when is not option to backup android-secure when restore the backup I don't have apps that in sdcard anymore. need to install that apps again. :crying:
thus this recovery work for K1 stock firmware.

Tried using 4.4.4 Root (CF-Auto Root) .. successful at first boot. But when you restart/power off. It won't turn on..
Only works in Download Mode .. No recovery mode
Yeah. I tried that on my SM-A300F too but if your device isnt running on the same built id*KTU84P.A300FXXU1ANL1 then it wouldn't work. I just hope CF will update the new CF-Auto root.

Wait.. I am not sure what to do here.
1.I go to download mode, flash the cfautoroot.zip for 4.4.4 eventhough I am 5.0.2 right?
2.then you say flash the recovery.img from 5.0.2 StockRom file.
this is the part I don't quite get it. Cause you said dont reboot.
Do I flash it when my phone is turned on or should I put it in download mode to flash???
EDIT: OK ignore the all of the above. I got it now. I was stupid and blind. lol
EDIT2: All work perfectly. THANKS

but when I shut it down it also automatically goes into recovery. Even if I choose power down in the stock recovery it stills reboots into recovery. I can boot it back up perfectly tho but now I just can't fully shut my phone down.
How did you manage to shut your phone down?
I shut down my phone via option from holding power button.
did you shutdown your phone by holding the power button for a period of time or you choose from the option from holding the power button for a few seconds??
Edit: I got it. I went to download mode via terminal emulator and then shutdown from there.

Thank you very much for your instructions and I was able to upgrade my firmware to ********BOD9 (Russia). I did not feel any lagginess and the upgrade is smooth and stable from 4.4.4 to Android Lollipop 5.0.2 ********BOD9 (Russia). After I updraded the firmware, I root my phone using CFRoot 4.4.4, followed your instructions carefully. I did extra work to make sure the system is clear so that there will be no lagginess. After flashify the recovery.img and boot.img rebooted the phone by flashify it went back to the recovery. Then I wipe data cache and wipe cahe. Go to bootloader mode and again install ********BOD9 using ODIN V 3.10.6 and root and copy the recovery.img and boot.img of ******BOD9 to external SD Card. Next flashify the recovery.img and boot.img and reboot. Then the problem of recovery still exist. I off my phone for 2 minutes. Turn on my phone again, do restart and the problem of going to recovery was gone. Take note that flashify will be used for 3 flashing per day. If you consume the 3 flashing don't reboot your phone, patiently wait for 1 day and flashify the recovery and boot.img then reboot using flashify. It will bring you to the bad recovery and reboot system. Now my phone is updated to Android 5.0.2, no lagginess & no stuttering and no recovery problem. The only problem problem is I cannot backup my rom. Still waiting for CWM Recovery for SM-A300F.
Thx this helped but after rooting it, when I turn off the screen, after a while, it reboots and I don't know how to stop it. Any help please?

Yes, you can root 5.0.2. Do the cf auto root first. Once it boots, then you should have root. But it's not done yet. Do not reboot or turn off device as it won't be able to boot back yet. Go to play store and install flashify.
After that, extract the 5.0.2 firmware you flashed (rename and erase the .md5 extension at the end and you now have a .tar file, which can be extracted like a .zip or .rar.
Once extracted, get boot.img and recovery.img and copy them to your phone.
Then open flashify, locate those two images and flash them.
You should have root without any problem.
First flash recovery.img. and renaming it wouldn't cause any harm. The file probably looks like this: something.tar.md5.
If you remove md5, then you have .tar file. Extract boot.img and recovery.img from it like you would from any .zip

Hi, thanks for the info; I also have the same problem.
I would like to clarify your instructinos.
1) I have A500FU with lollipop 5.0.2 (which i downloaded and installed with odin)
2) I download cf auto root for 4.4.4?? is that right?
3) I extract boot.img/recovery.img from the 5.0.2 tar file
4) install flashify and flash the above.
Also you mentioned I need to do 3,4 without reboot, coz it wont boot. What will happen if it reboots by mistake? WIll it need a kies restore? or even just a 5.0.2 rom flash?
thanks alot

If it reboots by mistake, then it would be stuck in kernel logo and the screen would become whitish and remain like that. It's because CF root from 4.4.4 installs old kernel. If this happens, press volume down, home and power key together so that your device turns off.
Then enter download mode to reflash the rom with odin.

So, you don't flashed the recovery.img and boot.img! After flash Cf-Auto-Root, Use Flashify and flash the boot.img + recovery.img from 5.0.2 Lollipop ROM.
I wl wxplain in detail. I took odin. Connected the phone. Den loaded up the auto root file. Clicked on start. So it starts flashing.. after the flashing is complete.. phone reboots itself... ryt ? Den it stays on the samsung screen. Stuck. I can use flashify only if i can boot up completely.

Now you have to reflash the stock ROM Lollipop for your A7 with Odin.
After flashed the ROM, flash the CF-Auto-Root package.
Don't reboot your device, otherwise same bootloop problem, when the device is bootup install "Flashify" from Play Store. Extract the boot.img and recovery.img from the 5.0.2 ROM.
Flash the boot.img and recovery.img from the Stock ROM with Flashify then restart your device and you have a fully functional root on your A7.
This method has worked with my A5.
Still not working
Than you for ur concern man.. But still it dos not work. After flashing cf auto root... I Just leave the phone. I do no touch it. It should boot into android. But it is not. It stays in d same screen.. Samsung... Galaxy A7
Maybe this works only for A3 and A5
Hi this tutorial is for them who wants to upgrade to Android 6.0 on J5 and also for those who wants to downgrade back to 5.1 on their J5 (2015) manually using odin.
This tutorial will be divided into three section upgrade, downgrade and rooting.
Upgrade to Android 6.0
As Samsung has started rolling out android 6.0 for J5 (2015) model. It will be available to all the regions sooner or later on most of the models of J5. Incase if you are not getting OTA update of android 6.0 on your country and are curious to try Android Marshmallow, you can try to flash android 6.0 available for other country. For example: If you have J500H model and android 6.0 for J500H is available for some other countries but not in your country than you can download android 6.0 firmware of those countries and flash it through Odin.
Note: The model number of J5 should be same for example you cannot flash J500F firmware to J500H ,
you can only flash firmware of J500H to J500H, countries or area does not matter as long as the
device model is same.
Procedure:
1. Go to the link below and search for firmware for your device. (Eg: Galaxy J500H)
2. You will find firmware for various regions and android version. Download the android 6.0 firmware for your
region. If you don’t get android 6.0 for your region than download android 6.0 available for any region as you
prefer.
3. Download odin from the link below.
4. Backup any necessary things like apps, contacts or files as you may loose them.
5. Now follow the instruction given below and flash android 6.0 to your j5.
PRE-REQUIREMENTS:
Download & Install Galaxy USB Driver on your computer,
Enable USB debugging on your Galaxy J5 smartphone and OEM unlocking.
Your phone battery should be at 80% or above.
How to Install Stock Rom on Galaxy J5
1 . After downloading the Galaxy J5 Firmware and Odin software files from the download section.
2. Extract/unzip both files on your computer.
3. Now, boot your Samsung Galaxy J5 into download mode. To do that turn off the phone, after the phone is off,
press and hold the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
4. Connect your Galaxy J5 to your computer using USB Cable and wait till Odin software detects it. Once, Odin
software detects your phone, you will see the Added message on Odin.
5. Before installing the stock firmware on Galaxy J5 make sure that both Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time are selected.
Then, click on the AP button on Odin software and select the stock Rom where you have previously extracted it.
Now click start button. Odin will start flashing.
6. In the end, on the Odin software the pass message should be displayed and your Samsung Galaxy J5 will
reboot automatically.
7. Congratulation you have upgraded to android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Downgrade to Android 5.1.1
Incase if you don’t like android 6.0 and want to downgrade you can downgrade to android 5.1.1 by following these
steps.
1. Download 5.1.1 firmware for your region from the given link.
2. Follow the steps provided in above upgrade tutorial and flash the firmware using the Odin.
Rooting:
For rooting your J5 on Android 6.0 as well as Android 5.1.1 follow these steps.
1. Download the TWRP recovery from the link below.
Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) ( Thanks @Nick Verse for TWRP recovery)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3338869
Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) (Thanks @ganesh varma for TWRP recovery)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j500f-t3416960
2. Download Supersu zip from the link below
https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
For Marshmallow Users if you are facing bootloop after flashing supersu.zip . Flash the supersu file given in the link below.
https://mega.nz/#!zNVBhKjb!FZFKq6vaIPudYMoIajb-3zwuLOC26OHtdYY_TKt-6Qs (Thanks @jka_dark28 for link)
3. Now flash downloaded TWRP via Odin. (Follow the same process to Flash)
4. Transfer supersu zip file to your sd card.
5. After flashing TWRP. Reboot to recovery by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power Button.
6. Now in TWRP select install, locate your Supersu zip file and flash it.
7. Than reboot your device. Congratulation you have rooted your device.
Note: Flashing TWRP and Supersu will void your warranty. So think before you flash. After flashing
TWRP do a nandroid backup first before flashing anything (even supersu file) so that if anything
goes wrong you can restore back.
And most important do everything on your own risk. I will not be responsible to any damage made to your device. But if you follow the process carefully you will not face any problem.
Hope this tutorial will help you all who don't have idea about these things.
Do write your comments and Hit thanks if it helped you.:good:
thanks for the tutorial!

I'm trying to root it.
Just flash twrp via odin. And install supersu zip via twrp. And remember it will void your warranty. One more thing do a nandroid backup before flashing anything.
Do I need to unlock bootloader before flashing twrp.? If it is required how can I do it on Samsung galaxy J500H running marshmallow 6.0.1?
Thank you

You have to enable USB debugging on your Galaxy J5 and OEM unlocking by going into developer Options. To enable developer option go to system, About Phone, and tap Build number 5/6 times. Let me know if you need more help.

Untick the Auto Reboot from the options in Odin and flash the recovery. After flashing finishes, power off the device(by removing battery) and hold [ VOLUME UP+HOME+POWER] to enter into the recovery and swipe to 'allow modifications'. Hope This will help you.

Downgrade
Hi All!
If I want to downgrade from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1 via Odin, is it sure, that I need only one AP/PDA file from firmware sites?
Because I remember with an older phone, that if I need to downgrade, it need the other files too - Bootloader, Phone, CSC.
Is it sure that there is no need for them? If it, where can I download them?
Thanks!
Hello mate, I have gone back and forward from LP - MM a number of times.
I have had no problem with it as all.
I just flashed the firmware from from Sam mobile ( there are lots us links through out the ROMs thread)
I have only had to put the file into the AP and flashed no problem.
Just mage sure that the firmware is the correct one for your model

Hey, I have a SM J500F 6.0.1, can I root it the same way as an 6.0 or do I have tobdo anything diferent??
I Suggest that if your device won't pass Samsung logo, put it in recovery mode and Factory Reset.
I Had that issue and i solved it doing that.:fingers-crossed:
Do I need stock recovery to only root my J5?? And will I lose all my data if I root it??
Hello
I flash a SM-G925F with Odin and the newest bootloader (CF-Auto-Root-zerolte-zeroltexx-smg925f.zip) from chainfire. After the system starts but i hangs, when i try to login. I guess this was because the system was 5.1.1 and the new bootloader was for 6.0.1. So i flash an old bootloader for 5.1.1, with the result, that the device dosnt boot (RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING). Download Mode works, Recovery not.
If it's posible to repair this without loosing the data?
If not, if it's posible to reset the device to the factory settings?
Actually i download the official firmware 5.1.1 (G925T_TMB_G925TUVS3DOJC_G925TTMB3DOJC_Original) from sammobile.
Please help
Regards Andreas

Last time, when i work with twrp, the mobil would be reset to the factory settings
Is there a solution, to flash the recovery partition with a part from the official firmware? Or are this the wrong way?

Or try to flash official firmware. The 1 you downloadwd earlier is for 925t. So get another 1. Google samsung firmware downloader to download firmware with unlimited speed. Use v0.3.5.

Okay, that works. The system boots, but i cant login. All services (touchwiz, contact, media, catchfavorites...) stop and the screen would be black. I guess, its because the system are 5.1.1 and the kernel are 3.10.61.
I have adb connect, twrp and recovery (odin) works. How could i fix that: System-upgrade or kernel-downgrade?
