Unrooted Note 3 Greenify Issues - Greenify

Hello!
I installed the official Greenify Play Store version yesterday because I wanted longer batter for my Note 3 because it wasn't lasting much (after unplugging it would reach 80% in 1 hour or so). I also disabled a whole bunch of stock apps that I never use.
When I installed Greenify, everything worked great, my apps were auto-hibernating and when I unplugged the charger, my estimated duration was 14 hours (using H+ and wifi turned off). I was so thrilled! Then I discovered this forum and noticed that there was a v 2.7 beta version going on that dimmed the screen while auto-hibernating, so I downloaded beta 5. It was working perfectly as well, this time around I was on wi-fi.
Fast forward to today... When I finished charging my phone, my estimated duration was... 6 hours again. I couldn't understand why. Maybe it was the beta? Maybe it's because I enabled hibernation for WeHeartIt? Maybe it's because wi-fi is turned on but not in use? Or maybe it was the re-enabling of S Voice? I uninstalled the beta and re-installed the official Play Store version, but still.. 4 hours left. Battery was draining super fast this time around.
So that's why I decided to share this here. Currently I'm charging my phone, with the official Play Store version installed. Disabled S voice and turned off wi-fi, but I still have WeHeartIt app in auto-hibernation.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Any thoughts?
I was so excited yesterday with my new super battery duration! Guess it was too good to be true? :crying:
PD. I started using this phone about two weeks ago, but it was not brand new. Had a new original battery installed though.

As you are unrooted, some Greenify versions may not work properly. The Dev has acknowledged the issue and is working on a solution. Wait for the next update.

Windows Phone 8.1 Dev Update 1

Hello all,
Just a quick message to let you know Microsoft has released an update to Dev 1. I have just updated my phone to version (8.10.12382.878).
Somehow there aren't any information on what has been fixed, but hopefully battery drain and heating issues are fixed. I will let you know how it goes or if I notice anything special. So far, the strangest thing is that my phone was at 100% before the update. The update took about 20 minutes to complete and after, my phone powered with only 28%... Hopefully this is part of a calibration that will allow me to have better power later.
Good luck everyone!

While not stated on the page, it was mentioned in the podcast that battery improvements was one of the fix's. That said, I've been running on it for a day, and haven't really noticed much.
http://winsupersite.com/windows-phone/microsoft-updates-windows-phone-81-developer-preview
i not notice improvement on battery life with update 1... same as before with 8.1... but my battery can long 2 days... only what i do is hard reset and set all settings from fresh (not used backup from cloud)
Gotta say 8.1 is amazing. Tile wallpaper, 3 columns and notification panel slide down and a lot more...
I haven't noticed a thing on mine...

i just recently updated to 8.1. and i can say that after my first attempt of using the backed up settings from the cloud starting completely fresh is the way to go. battery life was less than 5 hours for me at first. after hard resetting and starting from scratch my phone is no longer hot and the battery time has resumed to what it was before the update.

Myne just made an update

I was wondering if it was a security update, but I believe that's currently exclusive to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Getting the update now. Going to see what's all about
I assumed it is pushed to our watch? No update when i press system updates on the watch

Connect to your local WiFi and try again
The updates is to do with the ui-google cards. Nothing to do with security issues.
Nothing for me yet even on WiFi new google cards sounds more interesting than security updates then
I just installed the update and immediately noticed there's now a toast that will pop up when you charge the watch or take it off the charger. It could just be me but I don't remember that being there before.

that toast has been there all this time and even before the update.
Getting the update now. I noticed the Stock Exchange Card has been updated the other day (prior to the update).
Damn I was hoping for Marshmallow though. I can't wait to enable this speaker

Weird, I could have sworn I'd never seen them before. Maybe I was experiencing some sort of bug fixed by the update.

Finally got the update as well but seems I don't see improvement with the bluetooth range at all not sure if I should return it
So nothing new... lets hope 1.4 marshmallow will come soon...
Is it possible that the update fixed some battery drain issues? Its been rather amazing. Charged to 90% yesterday 8am. Heavy notification use, ambient mode, gestures on, navigation to home and ran 6 miles using two tracking apps and pandora. 45% at 12 hours later. I was at 65% before the run but kept the screen on while jogging so i could read my progress. Loving it. Cant wait for custom roms!

Serious issues with CM13 on Xiaomi Mi4 - please help!

Hi! I've been reading this forum on and off for few years, but never actually posted. Hope someone here can help me sort out my issue, thanks in advance!
Basically, I've flashed a cm13 via custom recovery on my second phone - Xiaomi Mi4, and I'm having all sorts of issues with it. I bought the phone in China, and for a while
used the stock MIUI interface, but I hated all the bloated apps and weird pop-up advertising, so decided to flash. it was the first time i've attempted it, so it took some
time to figure it out
My two main issues with cm13:
1. It crashes and restarts two/three times daily for me. I mean, I've cleared cache, I basically have no apps on the phone (apart from few messaging apps and facebook).
Is it just because it's an early cm13 build, or it's a nature of custom roms? I'm wondering if switching to a snapshot cm12 build would be better? I don't really care for
android 6 features on this phone that much, I just want a stable experience.
2. The charging became uber slow, painfully so. On MIUI it'd charge to 100% in about 3 hours or so. On cm13 it takes 3-4 hours to get to 30-40%! Never seen anything like
this. Also, if the battery depletes to 0%, the phone wouldn't turn on, even plugged in for charging. It'd turn on after an hour or two into the charging process. Seems weird,
as every other android phone I've owned previously would turn on even with 0% battery if I'm plugged in.
Anyone else experience any of the listed issues? Is it just an early build, or I've done something wrong in the flashing process? I really just want a stable simple os, no advanced
features or whatever, just need it to work
Thanks!
I have been using latest nightly.. No issues no reboot.. Charging time is 3hr

Thanks for reply! Would you mind telling me which gaps you've used for your build? I remember I had some sort of an issue with few gaps
I tried, I think only the smallest package worked for me. Maybe that's the issue and something in the gaps i've installed freezing/rebooting my os?
Thanks

Question Anyone with high Mobile Network standby battery drain

I used to have the classic Mobile Network standby battery drain issue, until I flashed CalyxOS.
I left my phone with 100% battery before I went to bed last night and woke up this morning 8 hours later with no drain of any kind at all.
Might be an option for anyone else with the same issue.
Interesting. So that confirms it's a software issue and not hardware. Which is a relief. It means Google can fix it via OTA update. Hopefully enough people reported it that Google took notice. i am on chat with google now and they want me to factory reset. I was hoping to avoid that
wait just a question. you said 8 hours.those stats don't update for 24 hours. So you got 16 more hours to go till you know if the issue is fixed. that is why there are no stats at all on your screenshot. It just says battery data isn't available right now
Edit: ok I was wrong about that because I factory reset my phone (on the advise of Google support) and it's been 7 hours and I can see stats. But yes not losing anything In 8 hours is suspicious. I mean it could happen I guess my pixel 4xl got fantastic battery life and apparently mine was the only 4xl that got good battery life because everyone else hated the 4xl because of battery life. Anyway with my 4xl I would lose 1 or 2 percent overnight same with my 1,2,3a and 5. It's only the 6 that this is happening too. I just hope that it can be fixed with an software update.
8 hours with no drain is suspicious if you are not in Airplane mode. The clock, the weather app, email client, a bunch of things at least asks back for update preiodically, so it seems odd.

He's pushing this OS all over the place, not sure why. Most people do not want to bl unlock, wipe their devices and gamble with a new OS that probably doesn't work with Google Pay. And I agree 8 hours with no drain? Not likely although I did have 0.4% / hour one night. Usual is around 0.8 - 1.0 / hour.

Calyx doesn't do anything really in the background. It's de-Googled and has background processes limited or killed altogether. It is certainly possible to get this low idle drain considering OP is on wifi with what looks to be a very strong mobile network signal so the inefficient Exynos modem isn't draining it.
The downside of course is that a bunch of stuff doesn't work right on Calyx because there are no Play Services. You can't even access the stuff you bought IAP for...
I see. I don't say that it is bad. limiting or killing processes in deep sleep would hurt the notifications too, right? It is an interesting OS, but I would join to the others. I need my apps in a convenient way. I did modding in the past but now I appreciate phones that just work when I take them out from the box.

Where am I pushing anything? I'm sorry that I'm excited I've managed to solve a problem and want to share it with others where it could help. But hey, you're welcome to keep scrolling if my posts bother you that much.
For anyone else who might be interested, I took my phone off charge this morning and have been using it for the last 5 hours receiving Whatsapp messages, emails, calendar notifications, Doorbell/CCTV notifications and doing light internet browsing and I've lost 2% battery so far.

You might have "solved" one problem but introduced countless others. If you're really that excited then give all the info not just overnight battery drain and be a little more forthcoming about the rom. I mean in reality if I turn off all network activity and put it into airplane mode I'd get the same results and probably even better. And then there's your thread of ...Why isn't everyone running CalyxOS? Maybe one thread would have been enough instead of cross posting the Pro and the P6. Anyway, I do believe you have gotten enough feedback so people know the pitfalls of the rom and the supposed benefits of longer battery life.

I turned nothing off. If I had I would have said so. What's the point in posting my findings then? I would be useless wouldn't it? I don't have time to play games and lead people around the bush. I'm not 12 years old anymore.
So just to satisfy your curiosity, I use my phone in exactly the same way I have always used it. Bluetooth off, Wifi and mobile data on, location on when I need it but off at the moment. All my apps work just the same as before including my banking app. The only thing I don't use now is Google Pay, and two of my apps with in app purchases are not registered. Apart from that it is exactly how it was before.

Mobile network standby of 2 minutes with 5 hours off the charger suggests airplane mode was in use.
I don't care how much stuff you turn off in the background, there is no way you're getting a 2% loss from 5 hours of usage unless you used the phone for less than 30 minutes in those 5 hours.

Ok crack on buddy. Lol
Suspicious, yes, but then again... I used to be able to run my old Moto G3 for two weeks on a single charge with just a bare-bones LOS, no gapps and nothing else in the background, so it doesn't seem THAT unreasonable.

Not sure. The latest from the Play Store and whatever version is on Calyx website.

General June feature drop is actually pretty amazing

So here is the XDA article about the feature drop
June Feature Drop for Google Pixels includes At a Glance improvements, Pocket Operator, and more
The June feature drop for Google Pixel devices is now available, and you can install it on your smartphone. It has a ton of new features.
www.xda-developers.com
And it really does look kind of..... underwhelming? like nothing there is very useful or important at large.
But the update actually brought nice stuff.
Check this article for the main take on the feature drop
June Feature Drop appears to cure most of what ailed Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro units
Most Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users have seen a big improvement in their handsets' cellular connectivity after installing the June Feature Drop.
www.phonearena.com
I myself have noticed improvements in the time to fingerprint unlock, network seems to be faster and more stable in comparison to March, and my network battery usage went down from being around 30% to around 5%!
So all in all I'm happy with this update even though it didn't seem meaningful at the beginning. It makes this phone more fine tuned and worth.
Have you-all noticed any improvements?
Are you feeling it's better then before?
Yes much better. One day in only but noticeable for sure.

I used the android flash tool it factory reset my phone but that's not big deal for me I restored my backup from Google one.
I have noticed the fingerprint sensor is working better my phone seems to not get as good reception but the network is also not using 30% anymore it more like 10 or 15 which is still high but where I'm at now doesn't really have great reception to begin with

I usually wait for the update notification upon checking updates available. This time it didn't seem it was forthcoming anytime soon since my wife's P5 didn't get it either. So I sideloaded it yesterday. It took all of 7 - 10 min from recovery to reboot. Not sure what the delay is but I just didn't feel like waiting for them to do whatever the eff they need to do to release it.

I've definitely noticed an improvement in the fingerprint reader. I haven't noticed any different in network - but more so because I am usually on WiFi and generally don't have network issues when I am not.

Yeah, I ended up sideloading it. No issues, and everything feels a little snappier
I sideloaded it Monday afternoon. Wasn't having any issues before and am not having any issues after.
It's a little early to tell, but I think battery life has improved. I ended the day both Monday and Tuesday with a battery that was about 10%-15% higher than usual.
Being able to use music player like neutron working again is brilliant I had the update on Monday about 11pm I'm in uk
i installed June update 2 days ago. not sure if it is the update or battery guru which was installed at the same time, but now my phone ACTUALLY goes into deep sleep (as reported by battery guru)!!
Its always in deep sleep now for around 15/16hrs between charges and battery drain is down to as little as 1% per hr when screen off. Before I could lose around 20/30% from around 10pm (last phone use) until 6.30am when i pick my phone up the following morning.
One thing i am having issue with SINCE the June update is pixel launcher. Im getting errors saying it has stopped working. I Use Lawnchair anyway, but thats not the point. Just before I get the error about pixel launcher, the phone goes really slow.
A restart of the phone hasn't solved the issues and i have also cleared data/cache from the launcher to no avail.
I NEED TO CONNECT MULTIPLE BLUETOOTH DEVICES AT ONCE!
one weird error I have since updating. If I pull down the notification tab as soon as i click a notification, instead of opening it it will lock the screen
Noticed much improved battery life as well. A 2% drop in active usage and much better standby battery drain. Took my phone out of the charger at 1pm yesterday and I'm at 48% as of writing this message the net day at 6:35pm. Moderate active usage between then and now.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that my phone doesn't seem to randomly overheat anymore while casually browsing the web.
EDIT 2:
Phone finally shut down today at 4pm, with around 50hours of total battery life and 6ish hours of screen time. This is probably the single biggest overall battery life improvement I've ever experienced just from installing an update alone on any phone I've owned.
NVM, I found the setting.
Definitely not better here battery or network wise after the June patch.
