Lost Snapchat video - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I've read plenty about retrieving and restoring Snapchat videos and images that have been sent or received; however, I am interested to know if a video that was not sent (only recorded) can be restored?
The phone starting acting sluggish, and I was given a "Snapchat is not responding" popup with the option to wait or close. I clicked wait, but the app did indeed close and of course the video was gone upon reopening.
Is it possible to get my video back!? Please say yes!
Thank you in advance.

[Q] YouTube videos "cannot be played"

Another silly n00b question...
Stock ROM, no changes have been made on my gTablet. When I go to YouTube.com, and try to watch a video, I get the error message, "Cannot play video. Sorry, this video cannot be played." Am I supposed to have some sort of an app for playing the videos on YouTube? [I have Adobe Flash Player 10.1 installed, in case that info is helpful to you.]
Thanks for all of your help, wonderful folks at xda-developers!!! I promise, as soon as I can watch YouTube videos, can change the wallpaper (that's more of a "want" than a "need"), and can find an app that works that will show me a count for multiple Gmail AND POP3 email accounts (a definite "need"), I'll be done asking you guys my silly questions! I promise!!
Did you do the OTA(over the AIR) update? Try this first and reboot.
Thanks you for responding, tings. Yes, I DID do the OTA days ago and have have since powered my gTablet off and on quite a few times. it is showing the new updated version, as well. So that's not it. I DI manage to see one (random) YouTube video, but it was so choppy I couldn't hear or see (or understand) a word of it. I just tried to go to YouTube again and wastch a ViewSonic G Tablet video, and again received the "Sorry, this video cannot be played." I seem to not have something installed to play them.
Did you try YouTube native app? Did you also look into browser setting? You might consider downloading flash 10.2.
I myself having pixelation problem with flash video in my tntlite 4.4 win flash 10.2. My mom's stock ROM with flash 10.1 has no issue with pixpixelation.
Sorry, i am noob too.
Try downloading flash 10.2.
Thank you tings and Enectic, for responding! I will do that, and will tell you what happens!
Cool. Let us know.
Well, I had to get the apps store fix done first. Did that, and now have market and gmail and places and maps and a whole bunch of OTHER apps I don't want on my gTablet. Then I went to the market and it couldn't find flash 10.2 (or any other versions). Then I searched for a few other apps I was interested in looking at (like Gmail Unread Count), and it didn't find THOSE either. I'm having a very unproductive day and am getting frustrated. I've been working on finding answers to my questions for 7.25 hours, and have come up empty. I can't figure out how to install my own wallpaper design, I can't watch YouTube videos without getting an error code, and I haven't found an app that will tell me how many unread emails I have in my POP and GMail accounts. I'm 0 for 3 today!
You didn't have to do the market fix to get 10.2. Here's a link to a direct download. Just download and run it directly from your G-Tablet or download it to your computer then transfer it to your G-Tablet.

THANK YOU, Enectic! I appreciate your getting me the link. And yes, I now have all this other stuff I don't need on my gTab. I guess I'll leave it there for a while , and if I don't use it, I'll remove it. [I "thanked" you on the Thank meter!] Wow, maybe I'll now be 1 for 3 today, on my list of things I wanted to do with my new gTablet!
Adobe Flash v10.2 installed (from my PC to the gTab), and it's showing as installed and the correct version on the applications listing in the settings, but I'm still getting the "Sorry, this video cannot be played" error message when I go to YouTube and choose some random videos. Any other suggestions?
No prob, sorry it still didn't end up working for you though. I'm a new G Tablet owner too so still learning myself. Not sure what to tell you, hopefully someone else will be able to help you with your problem.
I have the same issue with the updated OS and YouTube. Is this related to the tablet having no official Flash support?
I am having a similar problem with the videos on my woot tablet. Sometimes they will play and the next time won't. Will never play the king Kong video and once I try and get the error then no vids will play without powering off.
Edit: My second woot tab with no ota works fine. Only a problem on the one I flashed to 3588 since updater down. Now flashed to two taps 9.02 and still the same trouble.
Try this fix in the browser
I went round and round with the Adobe Flash problems. Then I saw a post that said this:
Open the browser
Make sure the full menus are showing (with the address bar showing)
Touch the settings icon to the far right of the address bar
You will three "modes" for viewing among the settings
Select the radio button for "Desktop" viewing
Return to the browser
I did this and what-do-you-know, flash-based movies starting working!
BTW, I received the OTA 4349 update and afterwards, I noticed that I could then use "Tablet" viewing in the browser and the flash movies still worked.
Hopes this helps!

Have you checked your browser setting to make sure you are viewing in desktop display rather than tablet or phone. That was my problem when I had a similar problem.

[Q] keep getting "File has Incorrect data" error when i play videos

Hi all,
i have been googleing this for the last week, but i cant find anything on it.
when ever i try and play videos with my stock video player. it keep getting "File has Incorrect data" error with in the first 30 secs of starting the video. i dont want to use a different video player, as i like the stock one. but i cant figure out how to fix this.
i am using a Rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100T running the stock samsung firmware. but i am going to flash a custom rom (CriskellRom V38) as soon as i get time. but i was wondering if the is anyway i can fix the issue on my current rom?
Thanks heaps to anyone who can help
Cheers Corey
I too have been having a similar problem on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy s2. I purchase the phone used. The previous owner had rooted it before I purchased it. I decided to flash to the SHOstock rom. While this rom is fantastic, I am wondering if it is influencing my video playback. Video seem to record fine, but when I go to the gallery to play them, only the first few seconds will work. Then a popup message appears saying incorrect data.

If the error shows, is there a notification from media scanner in your notification bar. Not sure if this is related to your problem. I had this problem a week ago on my phone. Flashing another kernel resolved it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
For what it's worth, I noticed that if I upload the videos to YouTube from the phone, they will play fine, but they won't play from the phone's gallery itself . So I'm assuming that they are recording fine, but there's an issue with playback.
Same here since a while. Now on stock xwkk2 with Siyah 2.6.12.

Hi, i was not getting a notifaction when they got the error.
i flashed the new leaked ICS (XXLPH) rom on my phone yesterday, and the videos are working fine now.
Thanks for your help
Cheers Corey
I'm getting the same error no matter which ROM or kernel I use.
I did have an issue a week ago where the internal SD card wasn't working properly and I got a pop up saying it's corrupted and to format it. Since then I can't play any type of video file, even those I've recorded myself.
Looks like I need to instal stock and reset my counter to send it in for warranty.
Update: Reinstalled ROM with full wipe and the issue seems to be resolved for the time being. I'm unsure why the problem took a week to show up. I'd have thought if there was a problem when flashing I would have noticed sooner.

Unfortunately, view video has stopped. ICS 4.03

Good day, I have a HTC velocity 4g running on ICS 4.0.3, rooted. Unfortunately, when i tried to view my recorded videos in gallery, it keeps on crashing saying "Unfortunately, view video has stopped". but i can record and take pictures with no issues, and also i discovered the stock music player also crashes, also saying " Unfortunately Music has stopped", can somebody please help me as this is very hassle on my part. I just bought this phone from a pawnshop. I tried hard resetting the phone 3 times but still the error appears, and also when i bought this phone it is already rooted. I hope someone expert here can help me, im a newbie in android. Thanks in advance for the help and god bless.
Your best bet would be to go to the velocity section and install a new rom

Honor 7 screen recorder problem maybe?

Hi! A few days ago someone was using my Honor 7 and accidentally started recording the screen and I thought I closed it but after that my phone has been acting crazy:
- Says that the screen recorder is still running when trying to run it
- Can't take screencaptures
- Doesn't actually save any pictures, not those taken with the phone's camera or ones that I'm trying to upload from whatsapp or snapchat.
- Can't send pictures on whatsapp
- Can't watch any snapchat stories
- I can't even do a backup of my phone!
I've tried fixing the problem by myself and searching for hours and hours for a solution but apparently no one in the entire internet has the same problem as I do
So hopefully someone knows how to help me here and thank you in advance
factory reset it.
Have you tried Settings, Apps, Menu, Show system processes, Screen recording, Force stop?

No problem. Does it also fix all the problems?

Video playback issue

Hey everyone!
I have already posted this issue in my device specific forum (which is the S6), but for a lack of views and replies, I am trying it in the general section too.
So! I am having an issue with my S6 that involves video playback in both youtube and whatsapp, and possibly other apps that I am not yet aware of.
In the youtube app, my phone will play audio, but i only get to see a black screen.
Sometimes, this even changes to showing a picture of the first frame with no sound (or anything happening) at all.
In whatsapp I can click on a video and it opens a player, but it doesn't play anything.
Instead, like sometimes in the youtube app, all I get is a picture of the first frame with nothing happening.
However! youtube works fine in the browser (both chrome and firefox, no issues), and i can watch my whatsapp video's from the gallery as normal too. (but it is still a BIG problem!!!!)
Also! Sometimes when I restart my phone, everything will work fine for a little while (usually for 5 minutes or so) but after a while, it will just break again and goes back to the problem described above.
Lastly! I know on other (samsung) roms that contain an app and framework file called minimode, removing the 2 will cause this exact issue, but these do not seem to be present on my phone. Simply injecting them from other roms won't magically solve it either. (Although I haven't actually found specific nougat versions of these files yet...)
I am experiencing this on different versions of the Stock S6 Nougat AND Marshmallow firmwares, even after full data wipes (including wiping the internal storage).
I have not tried flashing back to Lollipop, but I don't really wanna go down from nougat anyway, so it shouldn't be relevant.
As it does work some times, I find it hard to believe this is a hardware issue...
But I am completely clueless as to what I can do to fix it.
Any help, advice or insight in this issue is much appreciated
Please help me :crying:
