Hi, i bought a Samsung smart led lamp, that connects using Bluetooth Low energy and MESH network to control color temperature and on/off with android app,( which haven't been updated since last year) it seems like Samsung suddenly killed this project, with no news about it, its a great and useful smart led lamp but the app is not working properly, i had problems pairing in first place as app kept crashing but after i got it to work there was no problems, until i updated my s5 from 5.0 to 5.1
after that the app loops between searching and re requesting connection to device, and every time it loops the lamp dims to show a connection attempt, but nothing else happens, so i cant get to menu, where is a option to re-initialize the lamp, ( which doesn't seem to working as well) there is no buttons on the lamp and no info about "manual reset", i tried a fresh install , a different phone and phone with kitkat, but all just crash and loop, also when i try to pair using Bluetooth menu it gives me a error: incorrect pin or password, but it doesn't ask for one, i tried the "forcestop bt share" etc but nothing seems to work, also no stop form Samsung and the email address they give in app page in play store is not in use.
also the log of crash points to : source method: FindViewUnlocked and stack trace starts with: "java.lang.illegalArgumentExpection:View=android.widget.FrameLayout{fe9f3fd V.E.... .....I. o,o-960,192} not attached to window manager"
So now for the real question: is there a way to manually reset the lamp or bypass the pin/password?
sorry if wrong subforum or etc

Myself and many others have had crippling issues with bluetooth on CM-based roms and it has gone unfixed for a long time. Bluetooth suddenly just stops working. The icon disappears from the notification menu, and if you try to turn it on, it appears to turn on for a fraction of a millisecond and then shuts off. Rebooting doesn't fix it. Clearing cache from safe strap does fix it (temporarily), but it's a pain in the ass and takes a long time.
This has happened to me both in CM 10.1 and Carbon, and it happens about once a day. Once every two if I'm lucky.
Today I managed to restore bluetooth completely by simply force closing the "Bluetooth Share" app. I did tap "Clear Cache" first in the app's settings, but it didn't appear to do anything (cache remained at 12KB), so I don't know if that step is required. Bluetooth was immediately restored and the icon immediately reappeared in my notification bar. Why this worked but rebooting doesn't is beyond me. I would think since all apps get shut down on reboot, that a reboot would have the same effect... who knows.
Anyway, I just thought I would share my discovery with other frustrated Razr owners. I have only tried it once, but I will update this thread next time I attempt this and post my results.
1st Attempt: Success
2nd Attempt: ??? (will test without clearing app cache)
3rd Attempt: ???
If this does indeed work consistently, it may be possible to create a bandaid fix for this whereby an app running in the background constantly checks to see if bluetooth is turned on, and if not, executes a force close on the app, automatically bringing bluetooth back up.

yeah this was discovered weeks ago in droid4 forums
i posted in the ParanoidAndroid thread a few days ago in RAZR as well
but good idea to make its own thread to spread awareness
I have an Asus Zenpad 7 (Z370CG aka P01V.) I realized that my screen turns off during calls no matter what setting or app I downloaded to prevent this issue. I want it to be on so that I can access the other features of my phone and more importantly end the call without using the power button. I want to use the power button to be able to manually turn on/off the screen. I googled and read that it was a proximity sensor issue. I tried the hardware check (.12345+= on the calculator) and the proximity sensor test failed. Several Youtube videos show a physical remedy by opening and modifying with the front of the sensor but I preferred a less invasive cure.
I believe that that this issue is because of the phone's original dialer or calling screen or whatever manages the call and the screen during the call.

I tried several dialers, phone apps, contacts, and call screen apps with the original app but the screen still kept turning off once I made a call and the other phone started to ring. I tried to disable the original app and let other apps do its work but the screen still kept going black.
I finally decided to delete the original calling screen. I still had black screens when I tried to call so I rebooted and it worked! The screen no longer turned black. Asus's dialer lacked the fucntion to stop the call and did not allow me to use the speakerphone. I had to download another app that provided the features which were in the deleted original call screen. I am not using True Phone Dialer & Contacts and Light i Call Screen to handle my outgoing and incoming calls. Deleting the original call screen might require a rooted phone as well as a reboot, just disabling it while I was still unrooted still turned off the screen during calls.
Hello XDA!
today the screen on my Galaxy S9+ G965F/DS suddenly stopped working. I can hear sounds while it turns on and while its on if i tap on something, LED is sometimes blinking blue while on, red while charging and green if charged. But the screen stays black no matter what i do.
Tried: Soft reset, with USB connected and not connected. Booting into recovery and odin-mod.
Connected to PC i see s9+ in explorer, while in odin-mod i see the device showing in that mod too.
Unrooted and untoched firmware.
Before I send this device to repair, or try to repair it by myself i would like to hear some suggestions what else i could try before opening dat device.
Cheers and thanks to everyone in advance! :fingers-crossed:
If the screen isn't working in download-mode, there is nothing you can do. Of course, you can open the phone and try to fix the problem, but then you will lose your warranty. The best would be, if you bring it to your operator, or the shop, where you buyed it. The repair should also be free, because you havn't root your phone.
Try to backup your data over the PC. You can also try to start the device, plug it into the charger, and leave it for at least 24 hours. Then it should backup your data to the Samsung cloud.
restarted in recovery and connected phone to pc and found it on adb

@profi_fahrer not afraid to loose warranty since its samsung and yeah everything that i need is already backed up.
potentially clear back incoming
update: another thing i noticed is that haptic feedback/response is like lagging and coming a bit later then it normaly would
Update:
Got myself an USB type c to HDMI adapter to check if gpu-unit is working... and it is.
So atm I am thinking about opening the device and looking into the problem.
As far as I understand this, failure could be in the display flex cable. Or the display itself. But since its an AMOLED and Pixels are drawn separately from each other..
Checked all sensors, touch, fingerprint reader, all 3 cameras.. Everything is working as should. So weird anyway.

It has been a while since I did this trick so I'm doing my best to recall exactly what the tutorial said. I couldn't find anything via the search function and googling so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to help me reverse it.
So roughly a year ago, I found a performance tweak trick on (I believe) XDA that required you to use AndroidSDK to change some settings on your phone so that it, if I recall correctly, forced some of the background apps to close (or something similar...I could be completely wrong about what it did). It was a non-root method. One of the key distinctive features of using this trick was that you would not be able to see the power consumption of each app in the phone settings anymore.
Since doing this tweak, android auto would constantly disconnect and reconnect from my car and I suspect that the tweak was causing the problem (Note: I installed the ability to use android auto via a 3rd party tweak and not from the dealer). I did not have any issues with using android auto until after doing the performance tweak, hence my suspicion. I also don't have a spare android to troubleshoot whether the problem is actually my phone. There hasn't been a noticeable difference in performance on my phone either after using the tweak so I would like to reverse it.
Notwithstanding my ability to find another android phone to troubleshoot with, the alternative option would be to do a factory reset on the phone.
@DevlicK
Do you mean you can't access the app power monitor settings on your Android device?

I can, it's just that the power consumption of apps page doesn't show anything/
@jwoegerbauer
Clarification: Battery usage for software shows up as 0% and the Power Consumption Page does not show any apps using battery power (but I can still see the hardware usage e.g screen, gps bluetooth etc)
Hi everyone,
I've noticed something annoying : Media control doesn't work at all on lockscreen with Chromecast. Include apps like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ ...
Somehow, volume control works fine with the physical buttons, but I can't pause/play/previous/next.
Media control works fine if not casting, for example when playing Spotify on my phone, control on lockscreen is fine.

Saw several people complaining about this on Samsung community, but didn't find any solutions... Seems it appeared since OneUI 3.0
Does anyone have the same concern ? Did you resolve it ?
I don't know about chromecast since I don't use it, but I get the same issue when I play music through "OK, Google".
Everytime I use "ok, Google, play (song, music, playlist) on Spotify", the lockscreen controls don't work to play, pause, skip and go back. I thought it was something to do with Spotify, but they could not help me with it.
So I guess it must be something on samsung or Google.
Saw several users with this problem, and I think it might have the same cause as yours, but haven't seen a fix for it yet.
Yeah, got exactly the same issue and there are even some posts about it on Samsung forums and reddit. Tried to get help via the Samsung members app but they say they can't see any issues on my system logs and the screen capture. I start to hate Samsung for their really bad support.
Same issue here, Samsung tab A (sm-t510)
Ever since the android 11/ oneui3 upgrade.
Very fustrating. Only fix is to turn on the media "music" controls on the lock screen, tap the clock, get the controls. Also very occasionally tapping pause/forward etc works, even grayed out...
