Hello there,
I have a good deal to get the G watch W100 new for $70 .. its now sold for $100 at least.
I'm a fan of these things but they are really over priced .. like the urban watch is being sold for $400.
Anyhow.. do you think its a good idea to buy it now with this price?
if you can through me any ideas, thoughts.. battery life, experience with it .. I'd be grateful
and about the updates, I know it just receive the new 5.1.1 .. do we expect to get android 6 on W100 or no more updates ?
many thanks
I just saw a $50 deal come across one of my deal sites: http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/lg-g-watch/?null
Also, if you use ShopDiscover, I'm told you can get 15% credit...

As long as you don't mind how ugly it is and that it's a large fat square (uncomfortable depending on wrist size and where you like to place watch) then I think it's a great deal if you are in to tech. I have had mine since black Friday and for the 0 i paid back then I think it's still good/ I usually use always on screen with turn to wake off and can get 2 days battery, but I always charge it at night anyways just because why not? Even with tun to wake on it still get at least 1.5 days of use for me with moderate amount of notifications. It runs super smooth. It's bright enough for anything except direct sun light, in which case all the watches I've seen have a little issue with. I recently had a moto 360 because I like the look of it a lot more and it was a little bit more comfortable as well. But after using the G watch for over 6 months the 360 was laggy and I had to charge the watch about twice a day. If I turned off everything I'm sure it would last a whole day, but I didn't like that sacrifice. Since all the watches so far have the same specs with proc, ram and, rom (except the first gen moto 360) I would assume that it's extremely easy to push updates out to all of them since there's hardly any variation. I would be surprised if the g watch stopped getting updates any time soon. The only thing I kind of wish this watch had was a heart rate sensor. Not for any practical reason (the 360 was very hit or miss if it would work, but partially because i like to wear my watches loose I guess), but just for fun when I am nervous or something to see how it changes. I also shower with my watch on when I go to the gym 4-6 days a week. And never had an issue with that either. If there's anything else specific you can think of let me know.
All that being said I think the next gen 360 or the huawei watch look so much better. Of course those are 300+ bucks too though. So if price is a big concern you can't beat the g watch for 50 bucks.
Agreed. The g watch it's still a very good deal at 50$ hardware and software wise it's the same as the other smartwatches on the market. Only the look differs but I personally think it's not that ugly when you get used to it.

What would be, in your opinion, a reasonable price for the Gear Fit?
I got mine for 145 today and am wondering if i've payed to much and should send it back.
From what i have experienced, i think it will get cheaper very fast.
That's cheaper than the 200$ I paid when I per ordered it back march/April. The MSRP is 199.99$ in case you wanted to know. So you got a really good deal where did you buy it from ?

thanks of course i know the MSRP got it new and unopened from ebay xD
yeah you could say it's a good deal but in the light of the general bad reviews and the compatibility issues with other devices than samsungs (have a s4 btw) etc. i'm just wondering how low the price will get in the next few weeks. i read many reviews and some said 100 would be a reasonable price and since i payed 145...
are you satisfied with the gear fit and do you think it was worth the price?

I like it more as a smart watch than a fitness band. I don't like the blocky look of the gear 2 so I figured I would get the fit. Is convenient and it looks nice. Functionally wise the fitness is very spotty from my experience and it doesn't sync. I wrote a long review on it which you can read below for my impressions.

Bad reviews?
People got to hate, I love the Gear Fit.
Wish it measured heart rate 24/7, had an always on display, needed to be charged once a week.....
but what ever it is a good step counter, the heart rate monitor seems accurate to me, get my notifications, some new feeds..... It is worth $200 to me.
A normal watch that tells time costs me $100
I'd like to see when I track my Sleep that it would also make some heart rate monitoring. This would allow me to know if I was "upset" with something when I moved.
Ok i played with it a for a while now and i'm bound to say that i like it very much xD
I got the S5 S Health App so I have heart Monitor rating option with diagrams and the step counter is synchronizing perfectly (there is an option to change the monitoring to gear fit). I also installed the S5 Sleep App so that is working fine too. I downloaded some useful additions from the Themes and Apps thread which are also a working without a prob and configured my notifications (i think it's very cool getting live score notifications for sports) Now i laugh about the people which have written in their reviews this and that's not working...they are just too lazy or too stupid to get it done i encountered not a single problem most of the bad reviews mentioned
It's a great device:good:
So I got the Moto360 a few days ago and I loved the feel of it and I see the potentially of Android Wear..however the battery life made me shy away from it and I sold it. I decided I want something until they come out with the second gen watches but I don't want to spend $250.
Do you think that at this point it's worth getting the G watch for $179 or should I just wait until the G watch R or something else?

The G Watch has been solid for me so far and the battery life has been great. $175 is about the best deal I have seen for the G Watch (new). I guess it depends if you want a square or round watch face?

The price is down to $150 here in Canada so I jumped on it and it will be arriving today. There's a good chance you see a further price drop in the U.S. soon as well.
Considering specs and cost and not considering styling I thought this was the best Android Wear smartwatch as of the moment so I jumped at the the opportunity to get it.
Coming from a pebble I am used to the boxy design so if I was giving up the elegant look of the Moto 360 for a battery life that would comfortably get me through a day for $70 less so it was an easy decision. I was glad there was a supply problem on the Moto 360 or else I would have gone out to get it before considering reviews about it.

I got mine second hand for $150 Its barely been worn by the previous owner so I wouldn't pay more than $150 for it...
i found this watch for around 80 euro online. i am wondering how it has held up this long for everyone else as the guy i am buying it from said he bought it near the release date or is it worth it to add the extra money and get the g watch r
Check the hardware specs.
G Watch and G Watch R are nearly identical.
(G Watch R has the Round Display, 10mAh more battery and also a pulse sensor.)
I orderd a G Watch R from Amazon, but sent it back after 2 days.
Was not worth the money (180€).
Now I bought a "used" Lg G Watch for 55€ in excellent condition.
Totally happy with it.

One thing you left out is the display. The G Watch R has an P OLED display which , IMO, is better for a watch and one reason I would upgrade to it if the dang thing weren't so expensive. (Got my G Watch for $89 at Best Buy with free $50 Play Store credit)
I bought my G watch for 50USD used. Excellent watch. I like it better than my 360 overall. I wear my 360 to church and thats it. Only thing I miss from the 360 is the ambient light sensor while wearing my G watch. I won't be getting the G Watch R or the the Urbane since the only thing I find useful is the screen upgrade ( brighter, sharper, and better on power consumption). Not worth 300+ IMHO. I will stay with the G Watch till a worthy successor comes out that justifies it's price tag.

Yes!
Got my LG G Watch for $90 on Swappa. Totally loving it, and it looks really Geeky. I keep a simple Watch-face and people think it's an ordinary watch, but when I tap the screen, people's mind=blown. With the 5.1W update, the battery lasts me 4 days on moderate use, and this is good, since it used to lasts me only for 1 day on 4.4W. I even put a metal strap on it, so it looks really classy. The fact that it has LCD makes outdoor viewing easy, and there is a very little to no chance of screen burn-in. I don't mind charging it because it takes only 45 min. to completely charge. But the part replacement is really costly.
BOTTOM LINE:Yes, totally worth it.
Just got one last week as an impulse buy. I figured the price was too good not to give Android Wear a shot, and I'm absolutely impressed. Although I did hesitate and nearly purchased the G Watch R, considering both the strengths and limitations of AW at the moment, I honestly don't feel like I'm missing much at all. It buzzes when my messages come in, handles all my voice commands like a champ and the battery sits idle for days when I don't need it. That's pretty much all I expect from the platform, and consider this a pretty good placeholder until some newer generation flies in and actually blows me away.

I'm on the same boat, g watch just got a big discount here in mexico but im worried it might be too late to get it, but it's cheap or should I wait for Moto 360 2
For a basic watch, it is worth getting. I have had the G Watch since Christmas. I have order me a Gear Neo because I want more out of my watch.

Why if you don't mind me asking? AFAIK, the G Watch has better specs then the 360 which relates to faster performance and longer battery life. Aesthetics go, I believe the 360 definitely looks better, has the ambient light sensor and WiFi.

I guess. I wouldn't pay that much this late in the game tho. I got mine for $6 PLUS a $50 Google play egift card in November.
I really like the 5.1.1 update but I'm a tiny bit disappointed we don't have wifi.
I just want my theater mode to vibrate like it used to.
I mean I guess if you get a lot of texts or notifications during the busy part of your day, then sure. But I'd say save your money and get something newer.
I just got in on the $50 ATT deal. To me it's worth it. This is my first smart watch, and it does everything I need it to do. I have a TomTom Runner to cover all of my running needs, and I use the LG G Watch for everyday wear. I got both watches, brand new, cheaper than my wife's FitBit Charge, which she loves. Make sure you do your research and figure out what you want out of a watch. You're going to get a mixed bag of opinions. Just get what fits your needs.
found mine for 60€ (in a stairwell I could only pair it to my phone to make sure it worked).
It's cheaper than a Toy Watch.
update 5.1.1 fixed many issues about screen freezing in 5.0.2 so now it's perfectly usable.
finding a good wristband can be complicated as it's a standard size, there is soooooo many choice (right now hadley roma)
$50 guys. Of course it's worth it. G watch for around $50 or some crappy Disney watch from walmart.
I just jumped on the G Watch bandwagon because I found it refurbished for $45. It was cheaper then some of the chinese models and has Google Play and well supported.
I have been looking at reviews and it seems the G Watch is great for a starter watch. The Samsung Models use a Tizen OS and require a Samsung phone.
Things that I wish the G Watch had:
AMOLED display. Makes sense on a smart watch. The Solid blacks would also look better.
Speaker. This is actually kind of a bummer because if I am in the pool/lake, I can reply/dismiss notifications, but won't be able to take a call.
For me, this was reasoning is to help handle notifications. It is a starter watch that is cheap but good. I don't normally wear a watch, so it will probably end up in a drawer but if I end up really using the device, then I will spend the money to upgrade to one that has everything I need. It is just silly to spend $300 for a high end device if it won't be used.
In a perfect world, I want the Samsung Galaxy Gear S to have an Android Wear model so I can use it on my LG G4. That would be the ideal watch.
I think I might have to join the club for $50: http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/lg-g-watch/?null

I got mine from CowBoom (Best Buy resell site) for $35. It was refurbished but looked 100% new. Had the protective stickers on it and everything. Be careful because some do not include the charger (you can't charge it without the magnetic docking stand).
Update:
They are $59 right now on CowBoom (used). They have lots of them and lots with chargers.
I have just visited the site. It is showing 78% off. Seems to me a great offer for Smartwatch lover. My question is how can they give a smart watch is such a low price? Is there any difference in performance of these smart watch?
I got one for $59 on BuyDig. I had a Moto 360 for a couple of weeks last year, but returned it to Costco. Cool devices, just not $290 cool. The only things I've noticed so far that are lacking compared to the 360 are the heart rate monitor and ambient light sensor. Oh and its much uglier.
Battery life seems to have come a long way in Android Wear since I last had the 360. I would never run out at the end of the day, but it would come close. With the G Watch I can easily get 2 days with screen on at all times. I had the screen turn off when inactive on the 360.
Yes agreed. My battery last plenty long. I went on a 3 day business trip without the charger and had 12% on the 3rd day when I woke up.
People ask me about it all the time and how I like it. I am definitely sold on owning a watch. But they aren't worth more than $100. I can't recommend buying one unless you intend to use it work work or high volume of notifications.
Lots of apps are coming around though. I had a 10 hour drive and found Pandora updated to Android Wear. It was super nice to be able to skip tracks from the watch
For those who wonder why the LG G Watch is so cheap in the second hand market, I think it's because it was bundled with the LG G3 in many countries. So many people had it "for free" and sold it for cheap on internet. I'm even considering buying another one because the charging pin on mine are quite corroded.
Amazon has it for around $80, which compared to the Moto 360 isn't that expensive .

Ya, amazon has the white version more expensive than the black version for some reason,
There are pics posted to sand the black finish off. I liked the black finish.
If anyone wants to sell theirs.... I'll buy
theres a promotion here in mexico, they are selling at $50 usd, im planing to buy the white one and put another metal strap with silver and golden accents.
in europe a new g watch edition called g watch buddy apeared ,it has a leather strap, the same as the urbane, but it cost an insanely low price.
it can be found around 60 to 70 bucks new without any contract or thing like that.
So i am looking into buying my first smartwatch and the first thought I had was the moto 360. Currently its priced at $269 at bestbuy (waiting for it to go back down to $200) but i wanted to know if the watch itself is worth it. I ask because the Huawei watch is also $200 at newegg for black friday. I was considering the moto 360 more because of the 42mm size since i have small wrists. So, my question i guess is would you all still after a year recommend the watch? or choose something else.
In lower price, as used, for sure.

I got my 42" black gen 2 from DailySteals.com back in July for $149.99. That was a great price. Refurbished but you couldn't tell at all. Came with everything a new watch would. Previously I had a gen1 Moto 360. Main complaints with that were battery life, sluggishness, and a bit too large face. This watch took care of all that. I can go close to 48 hours between charges (depending on which watch face I use mainly). I wear my watch when I sleep so I can use it as a vibrating alarm without waking up my wife/kids. I charge it when I shower and then here and there when I'm at home in the evening. Never have a battery issue like I had before. I workout and run in it a lot too so I got a silicone watch band that I wear most of the time but can easily switch to any of the other two bands I have in about thirty seconds. Love it!
I just picked one up used for $70 on Swappa... this will be my first smartwatch so i'm hoping it will give me a good taste of what AW is like and be an overall rounded good watch for me.
