help me with com.system.patch - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a sumsung ace 3 gts7272 that has been infected with a virus called com.system.patch. here's what it does:
1- the first thing I noticed was that a white page pops up for like a second and it says com.system.patch
2- the second thing is very hard to not notice. a white noise page pops up every 10-30 seconds and the phone restarts and ANY CHANGES YOU DO BEFORE THE RESTART WILL BE GONE. YOU CAN'T CHANGE ANYTHING.
3- in settings>security>administrators you can see com.system.patch as administrator and android is not ticked, you can tick it but once the device restarts all is back to the way it was.
4- you cannot remove com.system.patch from app manager.
5- you cannot deactivate its authority as administrator.
6-you cannot factory reset it is deactivated. secret code does not work and using keys after it says factory reset done and it restarts everything is back to the way it was.
7- I removed the sd card and the background photos are still there.
8- I can connect it to the pc as storage device but nothing more than that.
9- I tried odin3.9 and it does the whole download process but after reset it goes back to the way it was and I can never get the PASS message.
10- I tried professionals who work for sumsung but after trying everything they just said you should change parts that would cost 3/4 of the phone's price which is not worth it.
I still don't wanna give up. Please help me get rid of this annoying virus.

As we discussed earlier, "com.system.patch" is not a virus, but rather an extremely stubborn and annoying form of adware. In most case, it can be simply deleted whether it has administrator privileges or not from a root-enabled file manager (Root Explorer?) or from a custom recovery with file manipulation capabilities (TWRP?). Is your device currently functional and rooted and if so have you tried to locate and delete the apk from a file manager (not the "Application Manager" in settings) or even a terminal prompt?
There is a forum dedicated to Ace 3 Development at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ace-3/development where I see several recoveries and ROMs that might be of interest to you. Don't give up yet!

I can't install anything. It restarts too soon. I have no time to do anything. There must be another way.

Can you get into "Safe mode" (if applicable to your ROM) as suggested in the thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090072? Do you have a custom recovery from which you could simply delete the apk or even reload a fresh copy of your ROM (or upgrade to a newer ROM)? The link I posted earlier seems to offer quite a few possibilities.

I can go into safe mode, however, the same problem exists there as well. it doesn't give me enough time to do anything it keeps restarting.

Then I guess a custom recovery or reflashing a ROM would be your best bet. Once again, good luck!

as I said in my post that did not work as well. It's like the phone is in freeze mode and everything goes back to the way it was.

It's not clear from your posts whether you have a custom recovery, whether you can access your recovery (custom or stock), or whether you have tried to reflash a ROM. You mention "Odin" but not what you tried to use it for nor whether you tried other methods for replacing your ROM or at least /system since Odin is far from perfect (and actually useless on many platforms/devices).
I'm somewhat familiar with your phone model and it's a good little unit worth fighting for. Please understand that the more exact you are in describing your problem, the more likely it is that someone will be able to help you. Trust me, we're on your side!

I'm not a pro. I just learned all of this as I was trying to figure out a way for my problem. I put my phone in download mode and after installing all the necessary drivers Odin was able to recognize my phone and I downloaded a tar.md5 file (I'm not sure whether the file is good or not or at least can't make sure) and selected it as AP and except for auto-reboot and F.reset time. I left everything else unchecked. It started the process and after completion it resetted my phone and everything was back to the way it was. That's the only thing I've tried. Is there anything else I can do?

I still don't know whether you have access to a recovery, which file from where you were attempting to load, or even which ROM you have/had. I have played with a device similar to yours in the past but no enough to make guesses about your particular situation, sorry. I'm afraid someone else will have to jump in and try to help you.

[Q] Well, I can still use my Vibrant as a phone, but only a phone

OK. I'm one of the unlucky that used ROM Manager to try to partition my external sd card when, in fact, it partitioned my internal storage.
However, I can't seem to clearly find someone else who has my exact same condition. I had just flashed Eugene's Vibrant8 and installed the paid version of ROM Manager when I messed my phone up this way.
Now, my phone will still boot up into Vibrant8, but each time it boots up, it's like the ROM resets itself. In other words, I have to enter all my gmail info...Anything I had put on my desktop is gone...and basically it looks like it does the first time I installed the ROM.
I can make phone calls and everything that is there seems to work OK. However, I can't install any apps from the Market as it tells me there is not enough space on my phone. When I go to "Settings/SD card and phone storage", it says that I have over 14GB of phone storage, but at the very bottom under "Application Storage - Available space" it says '0.00B'. This of course, coupled with the constantly resetting ROM, is annoying.
I should also mention that I am unable to enter download mode through the hardware as has been documented by many people in this forum (I have tried every which way but loose). I can enter downloader through adb on my laptop, but Odin loses connection as soon as I do.
Has anyone else encountered this situation? I think the solution will be when some genius on the forum figures out how all of us who can't enter downloader through any of the hardware means mentioned on here are suddenly able to. Any insight is very appreciated.

This is in the wrong section, should be in Q&A... but you should probably use ODIN and the corresponding files to go back to stock, and make sure you check the box in ODIN that says "RE-PARTITION", then re-root your phone and blah blah blah haha. every thing you need should be here sir . Next time post in Q&A please.
Odin, Odin, Odin.

Thanks for the responses. Still searching.
Thanks everyone for their replies. I am sorry if this is in the wrong section.
I have thoroughly read all of the threads about ways to fix my problem. My main issue seems to be that I cannot use Odin because I cannot get into downloader using the various button combinations suggested (including battery/no battery, sim card/no sim card, no sdcard, etc..). The only way I can get my particular phone into downloader is through adb which is installed on my laptop. When I hook up my phone via usb to my laptop, Odin recognizes my phone, but as soon as enter downloader through adb, Odin loses connection. I'm guessing the only way for Odin to recognize my phone while in downloader is through the hardware entry method - Has anyone had success with Odin recognizing their phone when entering downloader through adb? If so, this could also be key for me.
None of the codes on talkandroid.com worked, but I will keep searching to see if there additional codes somewhere in the forums.
I have the same problem on my home computer... I have to call up one of 2 buddies to use their computer when I mess up too bad... just switch to a different computer and see if that helps..
I know it sucks to have to make a new friend just to borrow their computer...
here is what I do for adb.
1: start odin up and load the files needed for the flash ( pit and tar ) but dont hit start yet.
2: Now launch adb and type - adb reboot download
3: Now go back to oden and your phone should be listed.. If it is hit start and it should flash fine.
Thats how I do it anyways.

I made a prog to make these code menu's easy access: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772690
As for the OP just keep reading and trying things. I got in to download mode by shutting down the phone and while it is shutting down hold the vup and vdown buttons.
Worked!

[Q] We have yet another BRICK

I've had this device for years ever since it hit the shelf it has sat in my hand. I have sooo much importance on here I have to get it back here is the...short story.
I installed this: Font Installer (Rooted)
Everything was going fine one thing I noticed is when I downloaded a font it changed it itself but I was like fine leave it be. Then I decided I wanted my system font back so I went to Settings, Display and such and found that the installed font was now default so my next step was to find out where is the fonts located so I went to system, fonts then hit INSTALL on the one I wanted it and boom it crashed. Now it just shows the Samsung sign then it dies then Samsung then dies then repeat.
I hesitated rooting, overclocking and such as a matter of fact overclocking is the only thing I did when I rooted which I felt stupid for because there was no dramatic increase the only benefit it gave me is a GB of storage but otherwise I don't even use root like things. The bad news is I think/assume I need back up and I don't have one I did something backup wise with System Tuner but I don't think it was a system wide backup.
Right now it is siting on my desk in recovery mode or whatever happens when you hold volume up then power. I don't know how but I was thinking I could reflash the default system files but I figured they have to be on the sd card I'm running with guesses tell me if I'm F'd or whatnot. Preferably not F'd -.-

I have no clue had to do either even with going to the links I have the drivers downloaded as well as Odin I.....don't know what to do. My device doesn't pop up on the computer so how do I install the drivers it's in download mode a message popped up at the bottom on Windows and said installing drivers when I plugged it in.
1. Does Windows install the drivers automatically??
2. How do you use Odin?
3. Could anyone respond help me completely because as a new user I have a 5 minute wait rule at this forum seems slow as mollasess.
All I did was install a stupid font app which decided to kick me out now I can't get back in the links and threads around here are ok but not in depth step by step. I went to a couple threads with brick problems and the per usual seems to be 2 respones then the thread dies I really would like a walk-thru of what should be my next step. Again I can get into download mode, I have ODIN and the SAMSUNG drivers now what do I do I feel some sarcasm stick rubbing, magic remarks began to crop up -.-

You should have downloaded an .exe file for the drivers. Run that, reboot pc for good measure, and plug in your device. Open device manager on your PC. The player should show up as "samsung gadget serial" or such. If it does, then it should also appear in odin. If not, hold power and volume down until it reboots back into download mode. It should then. Now click on pda and browse to the .tar or .tar.md5 you downloaded from the stock rom thread. It may be inside a zip or a rar, so if it is extract it first. Make sure repartition and update bootloader are UNCHECKED, and click start.

1. So I have a question is all flashing this easy and also as per usual....whats the best....fastest.....stable-lest.....popular rom.
2. Is this Stock rom completely stock and if not what am I missing before I play with something and return to XDA.
3. My Auto Rotate has been broke for a couple months I can tell the sensor is completely off although it still works is there anyway to re-calibrate it completely root wise???
Can someone help me I cannot find the MD5 every file I downloaded it does not have it included.

Edit: This is a slightly new problem nothing to do with the old I bricked it again and I basically can't find the MD5.

[Solved] Factory Reset, now boots to language select and then black screen

I have the GT-S7560M through Solo (Bell) and I rooted it shortly after purchase last year. I've been happy with the phone and for the last few weeks an upgrade notice has been appearing but would fail when applied. Some searching suggested the root was interfering. At first I started to look into un-rooting the phone, but then thought that a factory reset would be the simplest, least-risky solution. I had done a factory reset on my last Galaxy phone without a problem so it seemed like a safe choice. I backed up the contact info, etc with Kies (I don't use many apps so I didn't go all out ie Titanium Backup) and removed my SD card.
Now the phone boots to screen asking me to pick a language and press Start. Then it moves on to a black screen with the info bar at the top (clock, cell strength, data xfer) and nothing else. It is auto-rotating. The phone does react to touches with the buttons lighting up, but I can't get anywhere. Kies can see the phone, the phone number, the firmware version and all that. It reports Internal Memory as 84.83MB used of 1.58GB. I can navigate through the phone using Windows Explorer. I did a Restore with Kies but it doesn't seem to have had any relevant effect.
I am able to boot into CWM Recovery. I don't remember doing a back-up with it, and when I ask it to restore from either the SD card or the interal SD it says it can't mount.
At this point I would start thinking about taking the phone back to the store, but a flash counter appears during start-up and I'd rather they didn't see that for obvious reasons.
When I google I just get people who have bricked their phones. I just want my phone to work again. I'm not worried about modifying it further to achieve that.

I've just finished doing that, and it appears to have worked.
For anyone else with a similar problem who finds this thread:
- Go to the FAQ here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45767157#post45767157
- Download Daver18qc's root kit at the link provided (you'll have to scroll down to the second post). You want this to get Odin; don't worry about the zip's other contents.
- Go here: http://www.sammobile.com/ and register. It's free and all it wants is an e-mail and your country.
- Go here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and type s7560m in the search box. The list will automatically update. I'm a Solo customer and chose 'Canada (Bell Mobile)'. When I first tried this in Firefox I would get a screen telling me I wasn't logged in. I tried it in IE (which I never use and so is 'clean') and the download went through.
- Go back to the FAQ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45767157#post45767157 and scroll down to 'Short Tutorials' and 'How to Flash with Odin:'.
- One thing it leaves out is that when you boot into Download Mode, you will first get a warning screen that asks you to either press Volume Up to continue or Volume Down to abort and reboot. Not a big deal but it caught me off guard. Odin will not detect the phone until you get past this screen.
- Continue with the Tutorial. After it is done you will have to setup the phone again. But at least it's working now.

Bricked or Boot loader problem. Help

Is my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Bricked ?
I got the phone from Ebay on July 6,2015 everything was great
But on the morning of Sep 21st looking at my gallery pictures, I found they deleted themselves?
not knowing what that meant I went looking for recovery software "Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android"
it was not working so I had to root(?) my phone, so I went to the google play store and found a root app that seem
to have high reviews, tried it and did not work out right the phone restated saying "Samsung's firmware upgrade encountered an issue" so the next day did some research first before trying anything. I downloaded Odin3 and entered download mode & flashed the Samsung it restarted had it on for 3-4 hours
then turned it off & turned it on later to find it would not go pass the Samsung logo so I went to hold the off button shutting the phone off that happen 2 times and on the 3rd try turning it on It did not come on at all. Went to see if google had anything on this some say it is bricked and need to use a jig so I got one from a USA seller on ebay and returned it because it did not work at all. Not the phone still won't come on & I can't enter download mode, how do I fix this, is it a boot loader problem? is it hard bricked? do I need to take it to someone if so who & how much would that cost? you think.
Other Info of the phone
70% of battery is on the phone
It's factory Unlocked
Root Software I tried to use was (Kingo SuperUser)[Root]
I found they deleted themselves?
not knowing what that meant I went looking for recovery software "Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android"
it was not working so I had to root(?) my phone, so I went to the google play store and found a root app that seem
to have high reviews, tried it and did not work out right "UNQUOTE"...........What was the reasoning behind the rooting your phone for lost pictures??? if had wanted to get into the stock 3E recovery of your phone, all you had to do was, rocker up on Volume, pwr on, and menu key......dr phone may have flashed the wrong Bootloader, which makes you extremely lucky it even turned on to Odin it.....the problem your facing with it not turning on at all could be either [1] you have the wrong primary boot loader on it, which means its hard bricked, but im thinking you have a bad battery, because you were able to restart it after you flashed what exactly with Odin??......what did you flash with Odin??...an entire ROM, a bootloader file, or a kernel file by wrong chance, whatever it was we need to know... your not giving out enough info here, to determine if it was the correct SW for the phone you have, also what did you tick or not tick with Odin??.... extremely weak or going bad battery's cause abnormal voltages and abnormal symptoms as well...you might have a battery that finally went completely bad!!....there's usually only 3 things that cause a phone to not power on!...1] flashing wrong firmware, corrupting the primary bootloader...2]bad internal/failed hardware...3] a bad battery either its causing abnormal voltages or producing nothing from being totally dead!!...you state you cant power on anything, nothing visually illuminates, plus your saying it wont go into DL mode....volume rocker down, menu button and the pwr button all together will get you into DL mode, if you can power on a DL mode to the phone it is NOT HARDBRICKED!!...that means a softbrick situation= SW corruption....we need further more detailed info here!!...BTW YOU POSTED THIS QUESTION IN THE WRONG FORUM, THIS IS DISCUSSION FORUM , OTHER FORUM IS FOR TROUBLESHOOTING, WHICH IS WHAT YOUR TRYING TO DO HERE!!!

Should I post this in the Troubleshooting Forum?
The pictures I took on the phone disappeared all 300+ pictures disappeared .I am the only one using the Samsung
and it was on my table all that day. So I went to google to find a photo recovery software & found a software called
Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android (you can find videos on youtube) & using the software it can do 2 things, auto root the phone to find the photos and bring it back to normal or you Have to have your phone rooted. The auto root setting was not working on the Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android software so I went to the google play store on my Samsung and found a root app that a lot seem to like as it was 4.4 stars, went to install that the app stated I should have "Kingo SuperUser" on my computer so had that put on the went to root the phone & it did not work.
I got a screen on the Samsung saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." Youtube had a video on this same problem so I went to Sammobile's site and download the firmware what was
"2014-06-11 USA(Verizon) Version 4.4.2 PDA (I605VRUFND7) Kies. After I downloaded that I downloaded Odin3_v3.10.6 opened it had auto "Reboot & F.Reset Time" selected and added the firmware MD5 file add in the "AP" secion then Entered Download mode on the Samsung & hooked it up to my computer
then I hit start about 30min later it Passed with a green light and everything seem back to normal 3 hours later I went to turn the Samsung off and latter that night when I went to turn it on it got stuck at the Samsung logo that happen 2 times and on the third time it did not come on & so can't "enter download mode" and the "usb Jig" did not
work. What happen & what do I need to next. Do I take the phone to someone to fix this.
Short version of the story
.Pictures I took 300+ disappeared so when looking for recovery software
.Found a software called "Wondershare Dr.Fone for Android" (the software had "2" Options for recovering. 1 the software would
Auto Root and bring the Samsung back to normal after recovering the pictures or I would have to had the phone already rooted.
. When to the google play store with the Samsung, found a root app download that & "It stated I should download "Kingo SuperUser" to my computer so I did that.
.It failed & got a screen on the Samsung Saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again".
.Went to Sammobile's site and download Firmware 2014-06-11 USA(Verizon) Version 4.4.2 PDA (I605VRUFND7) Kies
.Download Odin3_v3.10.6 had auto "Reboot & F.Reset Time" selected and added the firmware MD5 file add in the "AP" secion
Entered download mode & the Samsung passed
.Everything was back I had it on for 3-4 hours then shutdown the phone later that night went to turn on and it got stuck
at the Samsung logo 2 times and on the 3rd time it would not turn on nor enter "Download Mode"
.Got a "usb Jig" & that did not work and now I am here wondering what do next & what happen to my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 do I need to take to someone to fix it ?
Samsung Galaxy Not 2 Unlocked

You may have a possible hardware problem then= a bad motherboard and possible replacement!!!....Can you power it on in anyway shape or form??...meaning can you toggle it into recovery??...can you toggle it into DL mode??....does it pwr on to the bootloader screen and continuously loop???.....if you can do any of those things then its not hardbricked, which means you need to reconstuct the SW and then see if the Hardware holds stable....If it doesn't....then it could be a severe HW problem!!!....For the future be advised that, you completely took the wrong road to achieving blindly what you intended to do!!...meaning ....you should've completely took control of the situation and been totally proactive in your rooting and unlocking the bootloader...you wrongly turned to 3rd party APP's when you should've read first...educated yourself completely on what you were to embark on, and then set everything up with 3 different choices of rooting/unlocking..again depending on what ROM version your operating on, before engaging!!.....NEVER TRUST 3rd party APP's to do something only you should have step by step control of = lazy!!!.....I personally wouldve 1st tried to get to the stock 3e recovery, and attempt a nandroid backup of the phone as it was...then afterwards try to get the phone detected on my computer, so as to access the file containing the photos, transferred them to the computer safely... then flash the phone to a stock ROM with root already baked in or not = equals totaly factory stock.. doesnt really matter!!!.... and then set up the phone again, and see what it WILL!!! or WONT!!! do!!...point is, easter-egging a problem carelessly, will cause you to either install the wrong stuff or go completely outta proper sequence and either hose the SW, or worst case scenario....corrupt the primary Bootloader and hardbrick it!!....if you can power it into DL mode!!!.... Then, 1st BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!.... go get Odin 3.07....then get the Samsung drivers for your computer to detect the phone...then DL the Pit file "sch-1605-16gb.pit"....then the proper stock ROM..4.1.1...4.1.2 in .TAR files only, BTW there is a stock 4.1.2 with rooted already in it!!....and then flash your phone using Odin with the pit file and then tick the PDA .tar file of whatever ROM. you choose.....I suggest 4.1.2 as a base to start with and reconstruct it, re-root it if necessary, that's if you choose the one W/O rooted baked into the ROM and unlock it with advice above using ghetto root, do not use adams outlers unlocker, there seems to be problems with it, triggering KNOX, and YOU DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN!!....relying on 3rd party app's will FK you up....use your head...not your heart!!...and yes you really should post NEXT time in the trouble-shooting forum, but for now leave it here!!...for your benefit!!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 SM-T337T - Bootloop Fix? - Can't Find Drivers to Flash

This problem has been driving me absolutely mental. About 2 months ago, I tried to root my Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 by T-Mobile (it was an old device anyways), I used the Odin method, and while it was installing, it said that the process was successful, and I saw it all come through. However, when my device restarted, it was stuck at "Starting apps..." for about an hour, so I tried restarting. Then it was stuck on the T-Mobile logo for 1.5 hours. I did a hard wipe/reset, and it was fine... for about a week.
The funny thing about it is, after I did the hard reset, certain bugs would happen, a different bug each time. (For example, Google Play apps would be stuck at "installing", screenshots wouldn't save, apps would crash repeatedly, etc) So if I tried to restart, it wouldn't fix it, but instead it would bootloop. I have to hard reset/wipe my whole system each time it happens, and it drives me up the friggin wall.
I saw online that you can try flashing your system by installing the default drivers onto your computer, and install it on your system through Odin. (or something like that, I'm not that professional at mobile technology) Awesome. Just one problem.. I have looked everywhere and I can't find the driver specifically for my system. I have looked for the driver ever since the problem got worse and I found out about this information, but I found nothing.
If anyone has any idea on how you can help, please respond as soon as you can. Thank you very much.

What you read in the internet means re-flashing your stock rom (system), that is the fix for your problem, the way to do it is to download and install Samsung USB drivers if you hadn't done that already, and Download stock rom from here or here search your model number in the search box and choose the stock rom based on your country, and flash with Odin, it's pretty much the same way you tried to root using CF-ROOT method:
1-you boot into download mode (volume down + home button + power button)
2-and then connect your phone to PC.
3-open Odin and uncheck everything except "auto reboot" and "F. Reset Time" (you should find it like that already), make sure your phone is recognized by Odin, you will see a blue box with a message saying "0:[COMX]" where X is a number.
4-press AP (or PDA in some versions) locate your stock rom which should be in .md5 format, and choose it, then 5-press start.
6-wait for the process to finish (takes a while) and then the phone should reboot itself and you will get a message in Odin saying "Reset!"
PS: you must register on the sites to download..bad thing i know but it's obligation.
Searched both of these websites for the drivers, found nothing.. I've been searching the internet for hours and not one driver was found. Extremely disappointed.

It doesn't need any advanced computer and only the size of the stock rom and Odin, it's no big deal.
