SM-N900P hardbricked, need .img help - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hey, I hardbricked my Sprint Note 3, and I was wondering if anybody could help create an .img for me. I was running a nightly of CyanogenMod 12.1, and any help would be fantastic. Thanks!

Ok I don't know if it works but it is worth a try. You have to remove the sd card from your device. Then erase it clean with your PC by placing the sd card in a adapter or if PC will run the sd card with out it great. Download the unbrickimg and copy and paste it to to the erased sd card bootup the device. The unbrickimg gives the device the ability to get back to download mode so you can odin flash a new stock OS. Here is the link http://www.mediafire.com/download/c396cy9uxyg7mck/debrick.img. This all I know I have it just in case I never have had to use it. The unbrickimg is for a SM-N900P

Didn't work. Here's what my phone is doing, for reference youtub e.com/watch?v=lXX5w8nisgs

What happens when you hold home volume up and power?
Oden a Stock Rom Or try,
Installing TWRP. And flash a rom.
Looks like it's looking for recovery
Good news, far from a Brick ?

Cool. When I hold vol up and power, it does the exact same thing as in the video, and it isn't recognized when I plug it into either my linux or windows computer, so I'm really lost

Hold home, volume down and power. Then when prompted hit up volume. That should put you in down load mode. From there you can Oden Stock rom.

Well, I feel like an idiot. Thanks for your help!

We all have been there?

[Q] Possible bricked Rezound

I'm not a newcomer to Roms and I've tried pretty much everything I've found in regards to unbricking rezounds. What happened is this, I was in the process of rebooting to the bootloader and didn't realize I had a boot image still on the internal SD card and someone wanted to use my phone and confirmed the update which flashed a new boot img. Normally I realize you should be able to just boot straight into recovery holding the vol up and power buttons, but the phone will not boot to recovery. The adb functions won't work in the bootloader when I plug it into my computer because it automatically tries to flash the update.
Am I missing something I can do to fix this?
You gotta take the sd card out and put it in an sd card reader to remove the ph98img.zip then boot to bootloader and then you'll have to flash the boot.img that came with the rom your using to get back to normal

Plug into a charger without the back cover on, sd card halfway out, no battery and try a bootloader power on (vol - + power). Once you can gain access to the menu, push the sd card all the way in and put in a battery. Then choose recovery. Shouldn't have a problem restoring from there.
. .
Thanks that was my thought too, but The boot img is on the internal sd, not the external so how do I take that one out?

Actually, the recommendations you two gave gave me the idea for what ended up working and it was as simple as swapping out the microsd card in the bootloader. I hate when I overthink haha
Thanks for your help.
Snuzzo, I actually follow a lot of your work on here even if I can't post in the Dev threads yet. Props, sir.

Samsung Galaxy Note II stuck at bootscreen [OS flashing?]

Well. It's my worst fear. Launched the DPI changer app, attempted to change my DPI (to a valid amount) and nothing happened, no big deal. My wireless connections stopped working and my shop stopped working. I downloaded a different DPI changer, everything was working except Google Play. I attempted everything then decided to tell it to "change" my DPI to default. Went to reboot then bam.
I get the following:
The standard splash with the Verizon 4GLite then it goes on to loop at the Samsung splash for a bit then loops from the beginning (4GLite).
I've tried getting into "recovery" mode but it won't go, I do not know why. (Vol up + home + power). Need help please, thanks.
(Noob alert, if you mention anything that I might need, if you could please supply a DL link to minimize any more mess ups I might make)
EDIT: I got into recovery mode I forgot you were able to remove the battery (I was panicking, I apologize) I am also rooted with 4.2
EDIT2: I've attempted a factory reset, nothing new happened.
EDIT3: I need to reflash an OS. I'm really freaking out. It says I don't have a bootloader (OS).
Bottom line: This problem kinda... multiplied itself most likely based on my own stupidity. I'm keeping it at the "Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0" recovery menu because I don't even want to boot into anything. Awaiting instructions.

I saw you posted this in the att forums but I think I can help. Just download any ROM and flash it. Twrp has a failsafe now that will basically prevent you from bricking your phone if no os is detected. Do you have an external memory card? If you do transfer a ROM to your card, put it in your device, and flash it. Your not bricked.....your just soft bricked. Or you can always go back to stock. I'm sure your device thread has instructions on how to Odin back to stock. Hope this helps

So if I wanted to flash stock, I just need to put the stock rom on my ESD put it into my phone and flash it from the recovery menu? Is there more to it than that? Or do I need to do that all externally with "Odin"? Where would I obtain the stock rom? And thank you for your response.

Sadly, no. I didn't. You are correct, I am very new to this sort of thing, I've rooted other devices before (simple one click only, I'm good with computers, but not smart phones) but nothing has blown up this bad before. I've placed this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261478) on my ESD however, when I put my ESD back in, it reads it as blank. I'm assuming I need to relaunch recover mode to refresh its directories. However I'm very scared to do that because I have no OS anymore.

Just navigate in your recovery back to your internal SD then back to your external. If that does not work then go to the reboot menu in TWRP and and hit recovery. It will restart your recovery only and should refresh what is sees on your external card. If that does not work go to mount and make sure external SD is ticked in the settings, if not then tick it, Reboot recovery again. If still that doesnt work then go to Advanced, file manager, and navigate to your external SD (if you can) and find the file you downloaded, pick the zip file and move it to your internal SD. Then flash it. Regardless of any of these steps if you can find the .zip file flash it. Then reboot. Hope that helps you. You should be able to reboot to recovery any time you need to regardless of no OS. Please keep your phone charging during this whole process. If this works then make a nandroid backup in Twrp.

Edit- If none of this works then you'll probably have to adb sideload your phone to transfer the rom to your internal SD card. Otherwise you can ODIN back to 100% stock which involves a huge download and you'll have to reroot your phone. If you don't know how to ODIN to stock then get on youtube and there are plenty of videos to help you along. The basis for the note 2 (att, verizon, sprint,....) should all be the same just a different file to download.

No problem man. Not everyone here is a butthole. Its not a pain because I was there once too. Just make sure you run a backup in twrp. You can name it too! Just practice and read around. Watch YouTube videos (I learn by visual)
And I keep my backups on PC in case a memory card goes bad. If you wipe system in recovery make sure you flash a ROM because system is obviously your OS and twrp prevents it from booting and bricking your device. Good choice on the recovery.
If it will at least boot to something there's always hope. be sure to hit the thanks button. It always helps. Glad to have gotten you up and running. If you need more help just pm me.

Can't boot up my phone. I think software issue

I was trying to install the Kit Kat ROMS on my MK2 phone using the new patches from these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674280
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2720163
I forgot that I was still on Safestrap 1.71, so I clearly am the one that messed this up. They were giving me some kind of error while I was install the patches, so I tried Restoring back to my old backup. It wouldn't boot, so I erased the Rom Slot, reinstalled it, and restored again.
I can't remember if my phone finished restoring, or if I told it to reboot, either way it shut off and I cannot get it to turn back on. The battery was fully charged, and I've been trying to turn it on with/without the battery and the charger.
I still have no idea how to get it to boot back up, so I can get Odin to find it. Fingers crossed that somebody has an idea for me?
So you tried taking the battery out for about 30 seconds. No charger plugged in. Then put the battery back In and boot into Odin mode using the keypress.
Yeah, what's the key press? Definitely possible I'm doing it wrong?

moving to 4.4 via the leak is probably to soon as there are numerous issues to be worked out. As long as people don't mind bricking their phones in attempting to do so.....
If you can't get the phone to go into odin mode, probably will have to send to jtag service....and hope they can fix it.

So your screen is black and nothing works? Go ahead and plug your phone via USB into a Windows computer. Open Device Manager and tell me if it recognizes a device being plugged in, and what that device's name is. If you get any action on USB, there's hope.

You're in luck. We'll need an unbrick image. You'll want to download the program win32diskimager, and have a blank SD card. @Surge1223 do you have an unbrick image?
If this actually works... I got the program, and the SD card. The only thing is, should I leave my S4 in the PC? I have no idea if it's charging/wasting battery, or if it'll be seen by the computer again.

Well I think I have 512mb MK2 debrick.img but this users issue may be a tad more complicated as I believe he was one of the users attempting to upgrade to 4.4.2 with root. So he may require a 4.4.2 NC2 debrick.img depending on which of his bootloaders were written over, (considering its in qhsusb_dload we can assume aboot is toast on his device)
Luckily my bootloaders are on the 4.4.2 NC2 build so I'll make a debrick img and that might help.

Yeah, I was technically on MJ7. I went to NC2. I was way over my head when I was doing this. I'm really lost as to why I was able to restore once, it just got stuck in a boot loop.
I know I used the NC2 to MK2 downgrade patch too. I'm not entirely sure which one I used last. If there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know. Otherwise, thank you so much just for trying.

If you're device shows QHSUSB_anything, you typically can do an SD boot. What I need you to do is download that image, format your SD card in an SD card reader directly into the computer, not through your phone. Use Win32DiskImager and write the image file to your SD card. Pop it in your phone, and try turning it on or going to download mode.

Awesome. I don't have a card reader here, though. Think I can just use that program running through my old RAZR as an SD card reader, or just better to go pick up a reader? I could use one anyway, just don't want to wait.

You'll need to use an actual card reader. The phone wouldn't really let you write directly to the card.

Doesn't seem to be working... The phone still isn't turning on with the SD Card in. I plugged it back into the computer; every time I try turning the phone on, it disappears from the Driver Manager for a few seconds but it shows back up.
I can't see anything on the phone change
When I write this image to my SD Card, should it still be seen by my PC? Whenever it Writes Successfully, it disappears from my computer. I can find it in Disk Management, which is good because I can reformat it. However, it makes about 30 different volumes, and most are about 3 MB if that large.
Haven't not done this before, but having created Linux LiveCDs under Windows before this sounds about right. I would imagine the volumes are just a format that Windows doesn't recognize.

(UK) Rooted S3, Soft Bricked after using Fontster, what now? No recovery.

Hello everyone, firstly I want to apologise for having my first post here be a forgettable and generic cry for help but I'm at my wits end and I hope that the community is nice enough; I would be very grateful. I rooted my phone as the idea really excited me as the phone had been really behaving erratically, since rooting it the phone performed brilliantly, I was thinking of installing CyanogenMod but it was lost on me, the entire process and caveats frightened me away... And I put my hands in the air admitting I probably didn't respect the process enough, thinking if the worse happened - c'est la vie! Well now it has and I'm feeling sick.
I rooted a few months ago, the Android version was 4.3. Basically I know what I've done and to quote Chromium himself in his thread for the app - I love the app, I'd done nothing at all exotic since rooting the phone - no custom ROM, no custom OS, just did it for the improved performance it affords, and I've been using Fontster all this time. Only recently, thinking I'm really clever I put a ttf font file on the phone via USB, a font that was unavailable in the app itself and thought nothing of it, promptly forgetting I ever did it to be honest.
Chromium said:
https://github.com/Chromium1/Fonts/raw/master/RestoreStockFonts.zip
This feature was available in one of the previous beta versions, but I decided to remove it from the app. One of the key points of this app is that it replaces all styles of fonts included in the rom and that I personally collected (or in some cases made) full sets of the fonts. In addition I edited the classifications of all the fonts so that they dont result in a bootloop when installed. If the user was able to pick their own files the classifications of the fonts will very likely be incorrect and they will soft brick their phone. Considering I already have a bunch of ignorant, uneducated reviews on the play store from people who failed to read the description, I cant imagine how much worse it would get if I left this option in the app.

I did not know this prior to I've done; last night I had grown tired of the font I had been using and started installing other fonts and had actually rebooted the phone a few times, and then I did it, didn't I? I must have chosen the font that I had put on the phone manually, the phone reboots and it hanged.
Since then, I've tried Odin and Kies. I needed to flash the stock recovery again and I have access to both Download and Recovery mode, Odin is detecting it all good and most of the internet is in agreement that as I have access to Download mode I am able to save the phone.
I have downloaded the stock ROM from multiple services, I currently have one downloading from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9300 however but there is no mtd tar file no matter how many times I unzip the folder, using Windows' own file manager and 7zip, and there is no discussion about this anywhere on the Internet, though I am on Windows 8.1!?
Please help, I'm thinking I just need that mtd/tar file to be put in the PDA box?!
Additionally when in recovery mode there is red text -
E: failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)
can't mount '/system' (Invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /system (Invalid argument)
Am I boned?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated; this has really opened my eyes to the pitfalls of dealing in something I have no idea about, I'm through and through a Windows techie.

Thank you DarkestShadow for your reply; it's still downloading (but going from memory; but I'll edit when it's finished) there was a boot image, a META-INF folder, a Modem file, a system file and others - I know this isn't thorough enough. From what I've seen on YouTube and from guides online once the zip is extracted it all becomes a single mtr5 / tar file. And that just isn't happening, it's perplexing as much as it is infuriating.

How would I go about getting the zip on the device? I have an SD card, although it has a lot of personal files which I don't want to lose. Could I use a tablet and computer connection to backup and get the stock rom zip on the SD card, put the SD card in my phone and then....??

Does not matter what method you choose as long as you get your personnel files off and get the zip in.
I did not realize you had stock recovery, so there is a chance it may not work. If not we will have to get you the proper odin type file.
Where are you from? what region/carrier stock are you trying flash on it?

Just take out your sd card and copy all your stuff to pc.then put the zip file on your sd card and flash it, but you do need custom recovry.

It is my understanding (And I could be wrong) you can flash stock zips with stock recovery? but of course you need custom recovery for anything else.

I am in the UK. I am downloading I9300XXUGMK6_I9300OXAGMK6_BTU.zip , but even so, it's the whole issue with the fact I can't see the tar / md5 file.
The phone is the Samsung GT-i9300 Galaxy SIII, it's carrier unlocked.
Although I am perfectly happy and confident in flashing a different recovery, I just want to make the phone usable again. I managed to flash the stock recovery no problem. I don't care about flash count and the warranty, I'm upgrading my contract soon anyway, I just need the phone obviously!

Then I suggest this one
https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.48.4-i9300.zip.md5
Thank you DarkestShadow you have really surprised me, thank you so much for your assistance. I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Okay so with this file, this will go in the PDA box of Odin yes? And then flash it to the phone, with that done I can then put the stock rom zip on the card, put the card in the phone, boot up to CWM and then presumably follow the on screen prompts?
In the mean time though, I will wait for the download of the zip to finish to see if there is a tar file, if not I will flash CWM and be straight back on here for further assistance which I hope you'll be happy to provide? Do I need to name the zip file of the stock rom anything?
Thanks again.

Of course I will continue to help.
Yes in pda, then if it does not auto restart into recovery shut phone off and hold Home, Volume up and Power buttons together. When you see the samsung logo, let go and you'll see it go into custom recovery.
Then choose install zip, storage/sdcard1 and the file should be there, does not need to be named anything special or changed at all just aslong as you recognize it then confirm.

Thank you Darkest, probably another silly question; I can just chuck the zip anywhere on the SD card, regardless of all the crap Android has formatted on/for it? - like DCIM, Android etc. as long as it's in the root of the card and I know what it's named.

Nope it doesn't matter as you can navigate around to find it but in the root of the sdcard is the easiest

Okay then Darkest, finished downloading SGS3INT-XXUGMK6-BTU-20131216, extracted the zip and lo and behold I have the md5 file! As well as a dll file named SS_DL
Now what? I've completely forgotten, put that md5 file into the PDA box in Odin and commence the flashing, however if I wanted could I flash the custom recovery at a later date? If I intend on using custom OS's / rooting again / just for the ease of mind knowing it's a lot more thorough if I ever soft brick again.
I'm going to sleep now, it's 05:25AM for me, I hope that this help and advice and continue as I really appreciate talking with someone so versed in these matters, my friends and colleagues are all ****ing clueless!

Thank you for being here for me Darkest, I will try it tomorrow and report back, in the meantime is it possible to flash a custom recovery at any point? I don't want to ever have to go through something this stressful again, and this experience has only made me all the more cautiously confident ie: rom manager/custom roms/rooting etc.

Yes with the i9300 we have the luxury of not having to worry about locked boot loaders etc so it should be able to be flashed with odin when ever you choose.

Thank you for all your help DarkestShadow, it worked like a charm, my S3 is now functioning, basically from the factory condition.
I have since rooted my S3 using CF Auto Root, what would you suggest my course of action to be?
Definitely install a custom recovery and from custom recovery? Can I then install say, a custom ROM but as long as I backup the current state of the phone I could then go back to back; if I wanted to?

Hard bricked sch-I545. Please help

Well I'm stuck with a black screen.....nothing. I know I can send it in for jtag but this is my daily driver so I'm hesitant and need it running soon. I was running stang5litre's oc1 rom and tried to flash gigilies port of albe96's super6 v1.87 ROM. I followed instructions to the T. I wiped then installed through flashfire. That could have been the problem but it was supposedly tested with it so idk. Any way I could fix with an sdcard or something? Thanks in advance!!!
Can you get into download mode?
Hold down the volume down, Home key, and Press and Release power

No sir won't do anything.
Although when I plug it in it says searching for drivers for qhusb_dload. But after awhile it says that this device has malfunctioned.
turn it off again, hold Vol- and power.... (release power when screen light up) still nothing?
No sir but I meant when I plug it into the computer the computer says that.
That's really not good at all. I think JTAG repair is the only hope.

OK thankyou. I was afraid that was what I was gonna have to do. But I still have hope for some kind of sdcard repair. Lol
hard bricked I545 also!
Looking to see if theres a SD Card method before I have to look into getting it JTagged. I dont know anything of how or what firmware it has but its a friends phone and he doesnt even know how it hardbricked. I've been trying to read before I posted anything so this is where im at as I am a newb lol.
I have win32diskimager. I need a debrick img for sch-I545. I also have a 32gb class 10 microsd card.
I'm guessing I get the img, write it to the sd using win32disk. put it in phone, then try to power on correct?
I got a debrick img somewhere on xda, but it was labeled backup.bin, and I didnt really know how to convert it to .img correctly nor do i know how to check if its been written properly?
Any help would be awesome! thank you

First off if your friend didn't do any type of modding or flashing then the problem could be that the power button is stuck in the open position and you may need to get that replaced.
But if it hardbricked during a flash or something of that sort then The sdcard has to be the same amount as phone storage. So if you have the 32gb then in theory that would work. But if you have 16gb phone you would need a 16gb sdcard. I haven't had any luck but I don't have a class 10 sdc so that's probably the problem. Also from the videos ive watched on youtube (so i could be wrong) you don't need to change the file to img just click on the bottom right corner when you are searching for the file press where it say ".img" ".IMG" and change it to "." Then you will be able to find the backup.bin file. Then me know if this helps and or if it worked then I may have to buy myself a class 10 sdc. Thanks

Ya he works for verizon so im guessing he did or tried to flash something. He said it was hardbricked but didnt say how or what he did. I was able to write to the card changing IMG to . allowing me to choose the bin file. The phone didn't boot up or anything, could be wrong debrick img? wish I had different ones to try. This looks like it could be leaning to a JTAG repair, but I still have hope with the SD method.
I have the debrick image for gs4 oc1 I made it from another gs4 thru terminal if you would like me to upload.

i have vwz GS4 i try to unlock boot loader using EZ-unlocker that hard brick my device .neeed help to brind it back to life kindly upload debrick img and procedure
Same exact problem happened to me. All the way down to flashing the same ROM. I believe my battery popped out while flashing with FF, once I put it back in my phone wouldn't turn on. I'm in a bit of a panic over here :/
Unlocked to bricked
You can not unlock the boot loader there is no method yet to do so. I wonder if some of you have drained you battery & that's why it won't boot up to at least down loading screen. Try plugging it in to a charger for 1/2 hour or so then try.
If you can get to down loading screen you can hook id to computer & load the stock firmware with Odin.

funny i just did the opposite I bricked flashing stang's new 2.0 on my OC1 OTA phone (got it for cheap after the update) just had rooted it and flashed my gDux to it no problems then flashed stang's and bam. the issue resides in the fact that when I made the OP for Super6 it was based on my downgrading to 4.42 Kernel then using Safestrap. Which a kernel flash has to have the -orig tag at the end of the block in order to flash over the stock kernel. This means that if your on OC1 and you flash a ROM you must not flash a kernel and if you do on accident you need to pull the battery before the install finishes and if thats not possible hold the vol down button in hopes of getting to download mode before trying to boot the phone or it will brick. so if your going to try and flash Stang 2.0 don't use his FF instructions the only time you need to flash a kernel in FF is if your upgrading with mdk, or Safestrap is installed on the phone. otherwise make sure the block for the kernel doesnt have the -orig because that wont work obviously. sucks Im usually more careful when flashing other's releases. if someone has the OTA installed and bootloaders at 5.0 an SD .img for debricking would be useful could someone please zip a result of this command from terminal in the Stock ROM:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=1048576 count=128
if you zip the .img you'll save a lot of bandwidth. I'd like to try and attempt to revive via sdcard (doubt its possible I didnt have luck with NK and an SD) but if nothing else theres been some improvements the qhs_usb department it might be possible to force write the debrick.img I'll do some investigating but if anyones already fixed this issue please let me know
