firmware lollipop on Archos 80 Xenon - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I wanted to ask if there is a modified lollipop firmware that was compatible with the Archos 80 Xenon..
I tried to look everywhere but I could never find anything.
Currently it has version 4.1.2 and has never been updated.
Thanks a lot

[Q] Is my Tab's firmware genuine?

Hi everyone
So I have Tab 10.1 which I bought in June... Later on I rooted it, a while ago before the touchwiz firmware update came out. Once that came out, I tried to update it numerous times (im not sure whether the tablet was still rooted or not when I tried to update) and the update failed continuously... Anyhow, don't ask me why I did this but I erased my system in the bootloader!!! I didnt realise that it was literally the OS I was clearing.... Eventually I found a firmware file on the internet for it and flashed it... Previously my Tab was running the HMJ37 UEKMB firmware, now it is running the Europe HMJ37 XXKFC firmware which has touchwiz already...
Now what I want to know is, is this firmware genuine, and will I be able to recieve future updates on it such as ICS when they are released? If not is there any place where I can find the UEKMB firmware to flash to my Tab??

It doesn't matter if it's genuine, don't use stock firmwares anyways. Custom ROMS are better. Wait till someone on this forum develops a sick ICS ROM.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
So, what is the coolest rom available at the moment for my Tab?? Just rooted it but duno what rom I could install.... Preferably one with more customized UI on top of TW... I saw a few pictures of home screens set about the windows phone 7 look... Is there a rom for that?
please refer here mate..

You can get samsung official firmware from them: http://m.samsung.com/us/support/downloads
But I prefer "In Paris" by Task650 and Phantom.

[Q] Frustrating Update Problem

A friend has an Archos 101 internet tablet, about a year old I think. I offered to upgrade the tablet to ICS. It is running firmware 2.4.90 (Android 2.2.1). Strangely, when I check Firmware update it tells me that "Your Product is Up To Date".
At first I tried booting into recovery and installing SDE but then realized from reading that it has to have a version 4 ROM installed for that to work. But when I drop a ROM into it trying to update the firmware (and I've tried numerous ones, including an older Honeycomb ROM) I always get "Update Failed (1)"
I Am i doomed to always have a 2.2.1 Archos or am I terminally stupid that i have not been able to find the answer?
Thanks for your help!
Your device is Gen8 (only froyo 2.2.1). To upgrade to ICS you must have a G9 device. By trying to upgrade your G8 u can probably brick your device.

Sorry! I thought all 101's were generation 9. Thanks for the quick reply.

[Q] Help on rooting Archos 97 Platinum HD (not 97b)

I got an Archos 97 Platinum HD yesterday, the original not the 97b model. It has android 4.1 and no further updates were issued by Archos (apparently this is quite common for them to turn their backs on customers) and I'm trying to read up as much as I can on rooting and flashing custom roms and recovery on it. But any information appears to be vague or not appropriate at all.
I have downloaded a hybrid Archos 97 Platinum/Onda v972 android 4.2.2 pre rooted rom and I was hoping to flash that on to it. Another owner has recommended I first flash an official Onda v972 image on to it, then root it and install cyanogen but I have no idea which rom to use or what method to use to flash it.
So any help to get this tablet off its buggy 4.1 software and on to a stable version would be greatly appreciated.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z rooting - original android 4.1.2 version

Hello Guys.
I planning of rooting my Tablet Z (SGP312) still in new-ish condition.
It is not updated still have android 4.1.2 on it (Built 10.1.C.0.370).
I just want to get rid of the sony mess what is on the tablet.
What program you recommend for this android version ?
It is not going to be my first rooting as my Galaxy phone and my LG G pad rooted as well.
I heard a lot problems with the updates (kitkat and the new lollipop) so not planning to update it.
Anybody use here other newer Android version (not from Sony) on this tablet with no Problem ?
Thanks for answer.
(If you can an email me on [email protected] would be really appreciated).

Firmware is very old, but you can root it with DooMLoRD_SuperSU.zip or DooMLoRD_Superuser.zip
Also KK and LP firmware are great, so no reasons for not updating. Also CM is working good on tablet.
Sony Tablet Z what you recommend
Thanks for the quick replies guys.
Keep up the really great work.
In the meantime Azar_98 was so kind to answer to my private message.
He recommended to put the 5.1.1 prerooted firmware onto it.
Just updated the tablet now there is 4.3 on it now (10.4 built) and there is available
the 10.5 built I think it is the Kitkat.
I see you have 5.1.1 prerooted on your tablet.
Is there any how-to on this site what explain the installation of this version ?
thanks again.
