Hey there!
Can you still access "download mode?" Download mode is accessed by holding down the volume decrease button and the home button.
Press the power button, volume decrease button and home button at the same time but letting go of the power button and keep pressing and holding the volume decease and home button while the download mode screen appears. you will know this when you see a green android and a "downloading now" screen.
NOTE: do you have a copy of t-mobile's stock firmware to re-install?

My 5.0 player is in Android system recovery mode and I am just trying to wipe data /factory reset. I can scroll down using the vol keys but I can not select the option. When I try to select the option by pressing the power button nothing happens. I know this seems really lame but it is driving me crazy. Please help.
Does the CWM menu just disappear? If so, I've had that problem a few times. Just reboot (forcibly) and try again.

When I press the power button nothing happens. If I hold it down it shuts down. When restarted it goes right back to system recovery menu.

stock recovery uses the home button not the power button for select.
Update: also newer versions of CWM (vers 5.x.x) can use both power button and home button.
Hi, I installed new rom ([JB] [P4--P4WIFI--P4VZW] 4.1.2 AOKP), but i didnt canceled the security of lockscreen with PIN. After install old PIN doesnt work and i dont have access to my tablet. Version of my recovery is: Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) - 2.3.1.1.
holding power and volum down button redirect me to download menu
holding power and volume up button just reset tablet
what i must do now?
pls any ideas how to get to recovery menu?
It doesn't make sense that you wouldn't be able to access recovery on a hard reset unless you're using the wrong key combination.
Hold Power and Volume down which is right next to power, and keep holding them until you see the Galaxy tab logo. Then let go of Power ONLY and keep holding volume down. That should result in two options...recovery on the left, and download on the right. Let go of volume down as soon as you see the two icons, then press volume down once to select recovery, then volume up to select it.
Good luck!

This is my first post and I hope it will help you to fix the problem with wrong weather widget location.
I had this problem for a while.
I have tried all the potential solutions but nothing worked.
For those who do not want to root their phone and do not want to install other weather app for many reasons i will show you the best solution that worked for me and i hope it will help other people.
First of all, back up all your settings with Kies. -It is important because you will lose ALL your data if you do not.
After that disconnect the phone from usb and go to recovery mode (press Vol. UP + Home Button + Power Button until you see the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo)
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to wipe data/factory reset and press the Power Button
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to Yes -- delete all user data and press the Power Button
Once that procedure finished and you are in the main menu of recovery mode
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to wipe cache partition and press the Power Button.
Once that procedure finished and you are in the main menu of recovery mode
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to wipe data/factory reset and press the Power Button
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to Yes -- delete all user data and press the Power Button
Once that procedure finished and you are in the main menu of recovery mode
Using the Vol. Up/Down Button go to reboot system now and press the Power Button
Setup your phone as you did for first time
And then connect the phone to your PC using Kies to restore the backup that you did before.
It worked for me and I have no problem at all.
*** I haven’t try all this to other SG3 such as Sprint, Verizon or Rogers. I have tried this only to the International Version of SG3 ***
Say Thanks if that solution is working.
Old LG G5 I had previously installed Lineage on. Was in a drawer until I decided to charge it up and let one of my kids play games on it. When I input the correct screen lock pattern, it goes black, then comes back to lock screen.
I am able to hold power button to then select power off, restart, etc. From power off, I power on and get the orange triangle recommending to lock the bootloader. But no combination of power and vol-down or power and vol-up will get me to TWRP. It just rolls right back in to Lineage.
Also, from power off, if I plug in to my Linux laptop, it will power on and go to fastboot.
Feels like USB debug got turned off and/or trust somehow got revoked, but I never had this laptop connected to it so probably doesn't matter. But like I said, my unlock pattern is working. I get different response with correct pattern versus incorrect.
I'm also able to see the phone from my https://google.com/android/devicemanager page. I tried to send a secure and erase thinking it might let me start from scratch, but I only see a notification that "Device Located" and it never does anything.
And finally, lsusb -v does see the phone, but adb devices never does.
My question is any idea how to get back to TWRP to wipe and push an updated image or even put an updated TWRP?
Try this ...
It's like getting into Stock Recovery. To get into TWRP Recovery using button combination (hard reset) you'll need to hold volume down button and power button simultaneously, releasing power button (temporarily) once LG logo appears then quickly pressing and holding power button again, all the while maintaining hold on volume down button. The stock recovery message (white background) will appear requiring you to select volume up/down button to continue to reset software (see attached image). If you select yes it will appear to factory reset but will actually boot into TWRP.
Hope that helps!
