Disable beauty shot on front camera - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
Does somebody know if it is possible to disable the Beauty shot function which is starting each time I switch from back to front camera?
Every time I have one step more before I can take a picture.

When you first use, you get a a dialogue where you set it, or don't set it. Try to clear/delete data in the app manager.
All I can tell you is that mine doesn't do it anymore. PLK-L01

[Q] manual focus

Is there a mod or an app to get manual focus? I could really use this when taking photos. Auto focus is good to an extent, but when I need something close I watch it go from a perfect focus to blurry and it's really annoying
I second this.

You know we have a two-stage camera button, right? Half way down focuses, all the way down takes the picture. So just get up close to your subject, half press, and then adjust your length to match the depth of field you're looking for.
I don't know of any apps that can hold the aperture at a fixed place though.
Like I said in my first post, I do that and watch as it focuses beautifully on the subject but then blurs it back out. Try it. Use the keys on your keyboard to take test shots and toy with it, it's quite annoying
It does have touch to focus as well...

You just touch on your screen where or what you want your camera to focus on. You notice the grid will move. Then snap the pic. You can also turn off auto focus in the settings. Im pretty sure there is no actual manual focus mode.
The op is right, the camera auto focus is stupid on close up.

Have you ever actual done those things when trying to take a photo close up? Because I have and guess what, it does the EXACT same thing as pressing the shutter button and without auto focus on, it still focuses
Yea agrees with op. Sometimes you get lucky but usually touch focus and half pressing the shutter button will focus then before it takes the picture it will lost its focus

Is it possible to manually adjust focus on camera?

Was wondering if there is any way to get a manual focus ability like a touch slider. Every time I try to take a close up of something, like my leachie or a spider outside, even on macro setting, will focus on the object perfectly, then unfocus it. I try tapping on the object that I want focused, but same thing. Unfocused, focuses, then unfocus before it takes the pic. It is very irritating.

I've had that same problem. If you take the picture really quickly, as soon as you hear the camera focus, it will sometimes take the photo without unfocusing. Also, if you move back a couple of inches and just zoom in, it tends to stay focused better. Other than that, I can't think of any workarounds, and would be glad to hear if someone else had some thoughts.
I wonder if it's a software issue - maybe try a different camera app from the Play Store and see if it can stay focused up close.

[Q] Default camera ISO setting in samsung camera app

Something has been bugging me for a while about the camera app on this phone. Every time I open the camera app the ISO setting gets changed to auto. What I wanted to know is if anyone has figured out how to change the default setting for ISO to save as lets say 100 or 200? Any responses will be welcome. Thank you in advance.

If the last mode you use is auto, it stays with auto. I chose Beauty face and iso 200. Closed the camera app. Sent a message. read some E-Mail. Opened up camera app. It was still on Beauty Face and iso 200. IOW...I do NOT see your issue on my setup.
I see what you are saying about beauty face mode, but there is no flash with that mode. Also, if I leave it in beauty face mode and lets say turn the phone off it'll default back to the auto mode. Beauty face also has other effects added to it, which I prefer my pictures to not have. Why is it that Samsung does not provide a manual shooting mode, where you can set all the settings the way you like and keep it that way or maybe I just haven't found it yet. If anyone has figured this out a reply would be much appreciated.

Automatic focus for a self 10 second timed picture?

I do a lot of fishing and I often have to prop up my phone on something random for a pic of my fish while I'm holding it, and I can't necessarily get behind the camera to focus and snap, and then get in front of the camera with a fish in the other hand. All my other, lesser phones would automatically focus when I just pressed shutter, set the phone down and I got in front of the camera. Everything I do now this phone the camera blurs me in the picture, I guess because it wants me to focus before I set the camera down? There surely has to be a setting to adjust this? Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Anyone know what I'm asking? Try it yourself, put timer on camera, press shutter and THEN put your phone down and get in front for the picture. it will be blurry...never had a phone that didn't know how to focus after you set it down. Seems like the camera is focusing on the object when you presss shutter and not the object in the lense at the time the shutter actually goes off...
i found the problem. you have to go to pro settings and on the AF (automatic focus) option, you have to select AF-S, as default in non-pro is AF-C.
basically af-c is trying to take a picture of a moving object, and af-s will focus on the stationary object. so if you are trying to get a still of you and some people and have to press shutting before you set the phone down (and don't want to just take a selfie), go to pro settings and change AF to AF-S and that should work near 100% of the time.

Possible to disable portrait mode from master AI?

Hi all,
Been testing the camera for the last few days. One thing that annoys me is that in auto mode with master AI active (I'm giving it a chance for now), if I try to take a quick shot of my kid, usually as he looks at me and I go to take the shot, master AI detects the face and puts the camera in portrait mode which result in the app hanging for like half a second while it switches to a blurred background and I often miss the shot because I can't take the picture in that hung state. Going in options to disable ai isn't quick enough.
For now, my workaround is to tap the pro mode when taking pictures of him.
I don't think it's doable but I tried to find a way to disable portait mode from the ai.. It could still recognize that people are in the shot without going for a blurred background (there is an easy button to tap right next to auto mode if I wanted a blurred background...) I'll probably need to suggest huawei to add an option to prevent portrait mode (first huawei phone I use, do they listen well to suggestions? I know updates aren't quick) but figured I'd ask here first in case someone has a better solution or maybe I'm the only one that the phone hangs while it switches to portrait mode using the ai?
Thanks!!
Phil
yes, i'm really annoy with portrait mode (AI changed automatically) it blurred the background too strong and look fake like cheap phone...
