No Google App, Android Device Manager not showing Lock & Erase
Touch is not working except bottom left and bottom right dot of Pattern Lockscreen.
So, all I want is memos/notes which are stored on my broken device.
That memo app is stock one not the Google Keep, so I obviously can manage my notes only on device.
I can't unlock my device
I can't access it through Android Device Manager
I don't have my memos/notes stored anywhere else.
Is there any hope left? If yes, then please help me...

I just put my Nexus 4 onto kit-kat, pure AOSP. I set a pattern lock, and then I completely forgot it. For some reason there's no pop up asking me to sign in with my google account. Is there any way to reset it?
Thanks for any help!
Did you get a fix for this? I've managed to do the same
ok - so I have discovered the Android Device Manager and was able to reset the device there after logging in with the account used to setup the device.

In which file is the fingerprint data stored on 4.4.2 on S5 Mini 800F?
In case one forgets the password or pattern on Android, the phone can be unlocked by deleting the password/gesture file in data/system.
After reboot one can access the phone with any password or pattern and set a new one.
Several methods are described here at XDA and YouTube.
Samsung came up with the S5 Mini that has the fingerprint scanner.
Fingerpritn scanner does not recognise anymore, no alternative password to use, no google related account.
In order to get access back I assume I need to delete the file that stores the fingerprint data - just like the approach as described with the password and pattern.
Is it correct to assume that after deletion of the file containing the fingerprint data and after a reboot ANY fingerprint swipe will give access to the phone and that a one can set again the fingerprint security?
Many thanks to your help in this matter which will also interst others as more and more fingerprint accessed devices are expected to hit the market.
I wanted to install the gmail app on my new BQ ubuntu touch but I get a very suspicious message:
"Ubuntu would like to" suggesting that it is ubuntu who's requesting to get access to what follows:
- check and manage your e-mail -> Ok that's why I wanted the app.
- manage your contacts -> What does this mean that ubuntu gets access to my gmail-contacts .... or is it google who with a sneaky question wants to get access to my phone contacts??
It wasn't that easy to get the my database with contacts loaded on to the phone so I prefer not to remove them now just to check what google is up to.
Did anybody install the app already and can help me with the answer to this question ?
I DON'T want to give google access to everything on my phone, actually that's the whole point ( or one of them ) to get an ubuntu phone instead of android !
tnx
Geert
It's Ubuntu trying to access your Google data, not Google trying to access the data on your phone here.
Google doesn't get anything as long as Ubuntu doesn't upload your contacts again, which, as far as I know, it only does when you tell it to do so.

Hi everyone,
My father has a phone - Navon Mizu M450 - with absolutely no modifications applied since it was puchased (was not routed, etc.). It fell of from a desk and its screen is completely broken. Is there any way to backup the contacts from it? There was no google sync set up, so the contacts were saved to the phone memory. When I connect the phone to the computer, the content of the internal storage is coming up via MTP. This way I was able to backup all the photos from that, but I am struggling with the contacts.
Do you have any idea how I could do it? I searched a lot on google and it seems only malicious applications are listed with various names.
Android version: 4.4.2 KitKat
Thank you in advance for all your answers.
Hello guy`s
i`m searching since days for a solution for my Android car system.
It has Android 8.1.0 installed, i can access the filesystem via adb root, the system itself is not rooted.
I have two issues with the device.
since a factory reset, when booting the system it does start into the "normal" slide to unlock screen, before the reset it booted directly into the Car GUI.
I searched also for disabling this, but only found how to reset or delete the passwords, and disable it on old Android 2.3 4.0 or 5, but not on Android 8.
it would now be easy said to just disable it at the system security settings under Display lock, but here is the second issue, the option seems to have been disabled by the manufacturor.
the same is with some other Option menu`s that are missing at settings.
i`m not that firm with android os itself, so i can`t finde the right command or modification to change this.
can someone help me how to disable slide to unlock, and how to reactivate deactivated system settings ?
sincerely Chri
