I have HTC One M8 (AT&T - Unlocked - GSM Unlocked)
So far I have recovery TWRP/bootloader.. nothing else works I cant boot my phone.. Kind of lost what to do .. I really want to install a custom ROM like Skydragon.. I got really close
Unlocked phone (S-On), rooted. Flashed bootloader and installed skydragon, but OS wouldn't boot up im guessing cause I need to flash android to 5.1? My phone has 4.4.5. What must I do to get this working. Must I flash bootloader or kernal or android to latest??? Any help would be great!!!
Thanks!

You need to update the firmware.
When you say you "flashed bootloader" I don't think you really mean what that is saying. What exactly did you flash?
Also, there is no Android 4.4.5. I think you mean 4.4.4.

you dont need to unroot to change roms you should be able to flash any rom (as long as you have the right recovery and what not)
If your talking about just stock ROM rooted and wanting to get the 4.3 OTA then im 99% sure that once you root which (means you unlocked the bootloader) you cant receive the OTA anymore. im not sure if its worth the hastle of relocking the bootloader to maybe see if youll get the ota. just flash a 4.3 rom and youll be good.

cool thx im gonna try to flash a 4.3 rom
so i flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499452 and now super user says there is no SU binary installed , if you upgraded to android 4.3 , you need to manually re-root-consult the relevant forums for your divece . could anyone help me out here i dont know what to do, do i need to re root the phone?
All you have to do is download chainfire latest superuser zip and reboot into recovery and choose it and install it .
You don't need to reroot if you already flashed a Rom..that means you was able to flash it cause u was rooted .
You just need to install superuser zip.

I have been doing a lot of searching and reading for a while now and have been unable to find the answers to this..
I have an unlocked, rooted HTC One M7_UL (AT&T) with:
stock Android 4.1.2,
Sense 5.0,
TWRP 2.7.0.0,
S-ON,
software number 1.26.502.12,
radio 4A.14.3250.13,
baseband 4A.14.3250.13_10.331150.01L
HBOOT 1.44
I want to update it to the latest Android Revolution HD (71.1?) Android 4.4.2 and the latest radio.
Is "radio", "firmware", and "baseband" all the same thing? Seems like I see them used interchangeably..
What are the steps to get there? Do I just flash the ARHD ROM and then the radio?
Do I need S-OFF to flash the radio? Some places said yes, some said no.
Do I need to go to a stock 4.4.2 ROM first then to ARHD?
Also, I've seen "kernels" such as ElementalX and Bulletproof. But I think these can be flashed anytime, correct?
Thanks.

Kernels are firmware specific please read the specific threads! and yes to flash custom roms of higher android version it is a must to update your stock rom first!

By "firmware" do you mean 4.1.2, 4.3, 4.4.3, etc.? Some places seem to call the "radio" the "firmware"...
So can I flash the "stock" that is on this page (android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html) and then ARHD?
Is there a reason you can't flash straight to a custom ROM from stock?

Their is a no. of dependencies are full firmware flash upgrades like in htc - system, hboot, radio which are needed by the rom to work that is why I suggest full RUU/Firmware flash instead of just updating the required manually

Okay. thanks. I'm still S-ON. Do I need to get S-OFF using Revone to lock the bootloader? Then go back to S-ON and use the RUU to
get back full stock? Then update to stock 4.4.3?

Are you trying to install 4.2+ rom? if yes you need to:
wipe/date
wipe/cache
wipe/dalvik cache
go to mounts and storage if you have CWM or wipe advanced wipe if in TWRP
format/system in CWM
Check system in advanced wipe in TWRP
flash the rom
reboot
If you are trying to install 4.1.2 you need to:
wipe/date
wipe/cache
wipe/dalvik cache
flash the rom
reboot

Sorry that I haven't been keeping up with the latest developments in bootloader unlocks, roots, recoveries, etc.
I'm on stock rooted deodexed 4.1.2 with unlocked bootloader and a probably now ancient TWRP. What is the best way for me to get to stock rooted deodexed 4.4.2? I don't see any guides for this sort of thing here. Thanks in advance.

i just received my phone from getting sboot downgrade at mobiletech videos... it was on 4.1.2 also. download the twrp manager app in playstore. update to 2.8.1 ( i think thats the recommended one for some AOSP roms) flash the new version. reboot. download whatever 4.4.2 rom. make sure its rooted and knox is removed. move to sd card. boot to recovery & install. if you have wifi issues you'll need to flash MJ9 firmware. and firmware only. or you'll lock your bootloader. some say you can flash via recovery but odin is what most recommend. i went from 4.1.2 to 5.0.1 w/o having to do the firmware update and i dont have any radio or wifi issues. good luck
Someone has the xt1023 successfully installed lollipop? Could you tell me which thread you used?
the ROM that is installed in my phone is the RETUAWS_XT1023_4.4.2_KXC20.82-15_cid9_CFC.xml.zip
Is that ROM the stock ROM?
I'm stuck on 4.4.2 and would like to upgrade to this new android please
I had to flash the new twrp or only flash the stock recovery?
:highfive:

The more secury way is apply stock 4.4.4 to your phone via fastboot, and after this, apply the lollipop ota zip file.
I also am stuck on 4.4.2. What could be the reason I never got the update to 4.4.3 or 4.4.4? I didn't do anything to the phone at first when I got it. I checked for updates and it always said its up to date. It came brand new with boot loader unlocked and a custom recovery. How did my carrier block updates?

I tried it, and didn't realize I had to hold buttons in order for options to show up. Lol Do you think its just the recovery holding back updates?

you have 4.4.4 recovery and 4.4.2 rom in your phone? if so, you need to to apply entirely 4.4.4 rom via fastboot and after this you copy the lollipop soak test zip file in root internal memory.
To apply lollipop soak test you need to stock recovery and rom 4.4.4, bootloader unlocked is no problem.
How are you from? you need to download 4.4.4 rom and lollipop soak test from your country.
