Hello!
My new Kitkat device (LG optimus L80) takes really long for display to turn on after I get the phone off my ear. Display remains black for a second or two - ridiculously long! I'd prefer a time of maybe 0.3 - 0.5 seconds. Is there a way for me to change this timeout period? Maybe some Xposed module does this?
Thanx!

Use x-blast tools .....you can find proximity sensor times in build.prop tweaks of xblast tool ...
If you don't wanna use module then add this line to your build.prop using a text editor or root explore
persist.service.xrfm.mode=1mot.proximity.delay=0
This will remove proximity delay

Experimental Module
This Xposed Module will prevent Phone Screen to sleep(lock) during phone call.
Proximity sensor will work as it is i.e. Display will go off when proximity sensor is covered but screen won't sleep
Especially useful when loudspeaker is on and "Power key ends call" Accessibility feature is turned on.
display wont go off thus accidental call termination can be avoided.
Note: First Xposed Module
to test this module set sleep time(in phone Settings -> Display) to 15 seconds or so and place a call, if screen doesn't sleep after defined seconds it worked
Download at Xposed Module Repository. repo.xposed.info / module / pkg.x7491.xposed.callscreenfix
Tested on various devices. if it does/doesn't work for you post your ROM and Device Details

Very useful module.
Added to my list thanks!
works well on samsung device people is going to underestimate this module which i hope not
Unfortunately this module doesn't work on my Sony Xperia Z3 compact. Android 5.0.2
I feel like I'm really going to like this module !! But just a little thing : would it be possible to make it also force the screen to wake up when you receive a call ? Because (and I'm sure there is no option for this) whenever I receive a call, I must first push the power button in order to answer it (weird huh ?)...
Testing this on Samsung Kitkat

on Android 5 you dont need this module
As far as i know if you have power key ends call feature enabled on Android 5 and screen sleeps, then when you first press power key it wakes up screen and second press ends call.

Strange never faced this issue on any of my device. Android automatically wakes screen when call is received. may be you are using a screen guard that may be covering proximity sensor

Yes nice idea, will this be possible ? I too sometimes have to push the power button then answer the call.
I'm not sure if this module aim to solve this problem
I receive a phone call, the phone call ends and my screen locks with pin number.
Why would it do that?
Anyway I read your description, it seems it solves another problem I never noticed.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 neo with kitkat 4.4.2
It is not keeping my screen on using Android 5.1.1. Still goes black when on call, supposed to stay on correct?

This module prevent normally your screen goes to sleep when you make a call with speaker. But with this module my screen goes off anyway when I make a call. And yes with pressing the powerkey you can turn on the screen again. That also worked on Android 4.3.
Did not work on my ZTE Kis 3
Hello:
Thanks for the effort but this did not work on my ZTE Kis 3 working on android 4.4.2. Should I do anything to make it work, any thong on definitions?

I also noticed this weird behaviour on my S4, 4.4.2. It would be very nice if this module could fix this "issue". Not sure either whether it's the case yet.
useful module...confirmed works on Lenovo A3000 with AOSP 4.2.2
Please if you have some time, try to make it compatible with MIUI.

New to all this, and was wondering if there is a way to use something else to wake and put to sleep instead of power button. Looking for help!!! Can someone walk me thru what to do?
If the phone is on and charged you can plug it in to wake the screen and set the screen time out to something like 30 seconds to have it turn off. There is no tap to wake on this device so that maybe your only option.
Tenounce
Thank u for the answer, but cant always be charging. So is there any way to swipe to wake?

No. There is no form of "touch" to wake on the one max. No kernel support for that function. Don't necessarily need to leave it charging just plug in and unplug for the screen to come on

I use this app, a wave over the proximity sensor wakes up the phone and I have it set to go to sleep when I set it down on a flat surface. I also use screen off app when there's no flat surface

if you are willing to root your device, then you can install xposed framework and explore all the wonderful modules that work under the framework. then install the sense 6 toolkit module and enable the "wake with volume buttons" and map double tap on lockscreen and double tap on home and double tap on status bar to "screen off"... done!

Hi, this is my first Emui device ,i was wondering is there is a way to get double tap to wake without root.
Thanks
Its not possible at fhe moment
The only way to wake the phone without pressing the power button is touching the screen in the fingerprint sensor area....
another alternative or workaround is turning on "pick up to wake" in settings

How can you know what exactly the position you should tap on? Or it always display on the screen?

If you tap the screen anywhere a purple fingerprint will illuminate on the screen, but the first tap is not necessary if you're already used to where you should put the finger, you can just put the finger even though it is not displaying the purple icon and it will unlock. The optical fingerprint sensor is not great though, was hit or miss for me.
It'd be handy for the screen to turn on though. Are there any good apps that accomplish this? Obviously the screen is already always expecting input so this wouldn't be that much to add, I think.
I sent request to HW to make this very convernient feature. I hope they will listen to users!

They would have to pay LG for the patent to implement it in M20P as double tap to wake is a feature patented by LG.

but you know what's weird? We have double-tap to take a screenshot that works on any app so clearly the hardware/kernel functionality is there?

Exactly. There is already the "double tap to take screenshot" why wouldn't they enable double tap to wake
Maybe somebody who has root can try this

You can yous doubke tap to wake:
Huawei have very bad AOD, it doesn't have any information only time. I found this AOD that have so much settings and very, very, useful.
- AOD (time, calendar, weather),
- Notification (when you get messages on som application like Viber it shows Viber icon, you can touch icon and read message on AOD without unlock it),
- Blacklist app - app you dont want to show on AOD,
- Duble tap to wake, swipe up for camera and etc...,
- Edge lights for notifications,
- Background for wallpaper,
- Adaptive mod,
- Font style,
- Music Controls,
- Automatic move clock,
- And many more settings...
Name of app: Allways on Amoled Edge Light

* I havent test batter drain of this application.
p.s. this is not my application i just found it. All the best, enjoy

It kinda works but the fingerprint reader doesn't always work because of the overlay, I guess that's the payoff. sad that double tap is there but does not do something as basic as wake the phone.
