does cm12.1 fast? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanna unlock bootlader. But i can't to decide unlock or not. And if i install cm12.1 can i use sony apps and bravia engine? And cm12.1 does faster my phone?

Hello my friend
You can use Sony album, movies and music. Some of the small sony apps also u can use. Sony home also ported for CM12.1. Recently sony Z4 camera also ported. So u can use all of them.
And for ur information u can't use Bravia engine in CM. After unlocking ur bootloader u will lost ur bravia engine. So better make a backup of ur DRM key ( TA backup) before unlocking bootloader..
Yes. CM12.1 is faster than sonys roms. It will give better performance for u. But u will miss some things like bravia engine and camera clarity.. Hope its helps

And of course holding camera button when device is turned off won't launch camera app.
So just to say it straight.
You will miss all the Sony stuff like stamina, camera, all the apps, however it is possible to install some of these features.
In my personal opinion it isn't worth unlocking bootloader just to install cm12.1 as the Sony's stock rom is pretty good.

U are correct. But in my opinion CM 12.1 is faster than sonys rom. He just asked about speed..

Yeah. You're right. Pure android will always be faster, however I don't complain about sony's lollipop.

U can't do that.. Listen my friend.. If u restore ur TA means automatically ur bootloader will be locked. So u can't flash CM 12.1 in a locked bootloader.. Got the theory ?

U can use 20mp cam if u are on a stock rom. I don't know about CM based roms.
Well yesterday i have flashed latest CM 12.1 official build in my friend's Z2 and in my opinion the camera is decent enough.. Good for a decent photography.. Only front cam is not good. If u are selfie lover means i don't recommend CM to u. Otherwise its fast and smooth. Camera also best

Yes. For androplus kernel u need a unlocked bootloader.
If u restore ur drm key in a unlocked bootloader with stock rom means it will automatically lock ur bootloader and u will get all drm features..
But in ur situation if u restore drm with Androplus kernel means u will get a softbrick or hardbrick or bootloop. Because androplus kernel is for unlocked bootloader and drm won't work in any custom kernels..

In that post, he meant to say about DRM Restoration method...Not about restoring TA Backup.
If you have installed custom kernel like Androplus, don't restore your TA backup. As @Rajeev said, you will get softbrick.
Instead, you may try DRM restoration fix method.
