Band 30 - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, been away for awhile.
Had this asked on another ATT phone forum--any help--?
"The Galaxy S6 supports Band 30, so perhaps we could do some research if anyone has one and knows how to get to the mode that says what band it is operating on. Maybe someone has already posted this on Android forums."
Also, anyone using S6 in Dayton, Ohio. I doubt if Band 30 is here or ever will be.
Thanks--

[Q] Question About Atrix's bandwidth

I hate AT&T but I do like the Atrix. If I manage to unlock it, I know I will be able to connect to T-Mobile's edge network, but is there any chance it would be able to connect to T-Mobile's 3G and 4G networks? Before anyone says no out of hand remember an unlocked Vibrant can connect to AT&T's 3G network.
I know this seems like a dumb question but I really do hate AT&T and would rather stick with my Nexus S on T-Mobile than use an Atrix on AT&T. So I'm hoping that the unlikely possibilty exists that I can use the Atrix on T-Mobile's network.

Short answer...NO.
I was afraid that would be the answer, but out of curiosity you said the short answer was no, is there a long answer that is yes?

lol, you don't give up do you? Well it's still no. This phone was not built with AWS bands in mind, which are 1700/2100mhz. In case of the Vibrant, I guess Samsung wanted more world support and offer the 1900mhz which is also supported by AT&T. Either way you take it, it's just not going work.
I suggest you wait for now, your Nexus S will keep you happy until T-Mobile gets some dual core love as well. Just try and be patient, sometimes this pays off in the end ..
Besides, you have more dev support right now, so go flash some ROMs.
Thanks, for taking the time to answer my question with such great detail. I will stick with my Nexus S for sure now. I knew it was a longshot when I posted but a guy can hope.

[Q] gt-i9100 US 4g access

I have been around the forum for many years now, but am new to Android. I purchased a GT-i9100 in India for work travel between US and there. I have rooted and upgraded to 2.3.4, and applied a new kernel to remove the exclamation point. So, with that said, here is my question:
I am in the US right now, and in an area supported by T Mobile HSPA, but the phone will only connect to Edge. I am PRETTY sure it was only connecting to Edge before I did the work, but I cannot be sure. Would there be anything I did to the phone that would prevent it from getting onto the "4G" network? Is there anything I need to do now to change so it can connect?
I am not sure if this is related either, but I have a Verizon LTE data card, and if I place that SIM in the GT-i9100, it won't recognize it at all. It seems to only see T Mobile and ATT in the US.
I have spoken to T Mobile and they confirmed the 4g availability where I am, and they also reset my network connection, so the issue does not appear to be on my account or with TMobile.
Sorry for the long post, but I have been searching around and can't seem to get my small mind around resolution.
The SGS2 does not work with T-Mobile's 4G bands here in the US. If you want 4G you'll need AT&T.

That's because there is no resolution. As stated in several other threads on these forums (learn to do a search, and there's even one on the main page of Q/A right now) THERE IS NO WAY to get 3G on T-Mobile. The hardware in the phone does not support their 1700MHZ band.
Your 2 options:
1. Buy a T-Mobile phone
2. Switch to AT&T

HTC Droid DNA on Wind Mobile in Canada?

Hi, I'd like to know, does the Droid DNA work on Wind Mobile? I'm quite positive you can get voice, but I'm not sure about data (3G). Can the DNA get 3G on Wind? I'd rather not use 2G if possible. I've already searched, and found a post about it in another thread, but it wasn't very helpful and did not confirm my inquiry. As of now, I am using a Samsung Vibrant on Wind Mobile (its from TMo) and it works fine and I have 3G. DNA does work on TMo, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032212) and this person gets 3G. I'd like an answer on whether this device will work on Wind with 3G if possible or not. Thanks.
Bump. Does anyone know???
I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago in another thread and someone replied that it doesn't support AWS but I'm not satisfied with that answer. I'm still waiting to hear a reply from someone who actually tries it out on Wind.
I have just found out that Wind sends at 1710–1755 MHz, and receives at 2110–2155 MHz. The DNA doesn't have 1700MHz band so in theory it won't work but I'm still waiting for someone to really test it out.

I tried the DNA on Wind and it only connects to roaming, tried several times and it won't find home and you are right about the DNA not supporting AWS. Luckily I also have a Nexus 4 and that does work on Wind

I9300 on T-Mobile?

Ok fellas, now before I ask my question, I just rant to let you know I've been a member here for quite a while, and the reason I have such a low post count is because I always do my reading before I waste someone's time.
In this case, all the posts I've read are old and outdated, and none of them provide a solid answer.
So my question here is...can the I9300 get H+ or 4g on T-Mobile network now? I've read first that NO the phone doesn't support their 4g band and never will because it lacks the hardware, that I totally understand, just like the cdma gs3 cannot do the same.
Now with that being said, I've also seen threads saying T-Mobile is adding a new band to support their byop program for people with unlocked phones.
All these I had read had old days on them with the most recent one on Feb 2013.
So does anyone have a straight answer for me?
I have a customer that brought me her fried T-Mobile gs3 and basically I kept get LCD A's transplanted it into a spare i9300 that my girlfriend brought me from Hong Kong.
I know the phone doesn't support LTE and that's fine, it's the 4g/H+ I'm concerned about, and if its possible what has to be done? New modem flash? Custom Rom?
Any help or info is greatly appreciated. ^_^
Sent from my Rooted/unlocked/flashed SAMSUNG SGH-I747 using XDA Premium 4 Mobile App
Not seen anything posted .
As TMobile have now merged with Orange possible its under the new EE brand .

Sprint Note 3 on Verizon MVNO - StraightTalk, Page Plus, SelecTel, PLEASE HELP!!!

Dear Friends,
I have run into a STRANGE problem with the last two Sprint phones I have tried using on Page Plus and SelecTel. The problem is simple: I get speeds limited to .2Mbps on Note 3 and S4, no matter, WHERE, WHEN, AND HOW I am with the phone. This is perplexing, because, I have tested a Verizon OTA phone, right NEXT TO my N3 and S4, on the same service, at different locations, getting the NORMAL Verizon 3G speeds - that is, upto 2+Mbps.
I have been using flashed Sprint phones on Page Plus and StraightTalk for YEARS, but I have NEVER seen this issue.
I think the problem is with provisioning, because when a Speed Test is launched, my Note 3, for a brief second goes to 1Mbps+ speeds, and then something just pulls the speeds down. Now ST, may throttle, but I know Page Plus and SelecTel don't, so why is this happening? Is it the included SIM in the phones? Could that be the issue?
I need your help. If you are using a Sprint Galaxy S4 OR Sprint Galaxy Note 3 on StraightTalk (Verizon), Page Plus, OR SelecTel, please:
1. Run a Speed Test for me and report your speeds.
2. Tell me if you have the SIM in your phone, and if so, which one is it, and how did you get it?
3. Share ANY knowledge, tips, or reasons why this could be happening to me?
I am so darn frustrated from this, and am not getting answers anywhere?
Lastly, yes, the 3G keys are in fact, properly written to the phone, because in phone status I can see that the Phone is authenticated and connected and EVDO Rev A.
Appreciate your help in advance! Thank you.
