What is AOSPA-L?
Paranoid Android Legacy is a custom ROM aiming to extend the system, working on enhancing the already existing beauty of Android and following the same design philosophies that were set forward by Google for Android Open Source Project. Paranoid Android is so much more, but it must be experienced, felt. AOSPA-L is a separate branch from the Nexus Focused AOSPA that instead focuses on making non nexus devices have a taste of AOSPA.

Is this an Official Release or Unofficial?
The builds seen here are strictly tagged as Unofficial because I am not part of the Paranoid Android Team and you would have realized that by now. This thread serves as a platform for me to push unofficial builds for Nexus 5 users to experience the latest AOSPA-L version available rather than waiting for the busy AOSPA Team to update.

Build Schedule?
The build schedule for the AOSPA Builds provided here will be following a weekly schedule although I will always try my best to build it on my server if required or is called for. Updates will come if the amount of code changes done to the Official AOSPA-L Github calls for it. If you will like to have notifications on whether or not a new build is coming out, be sure to check this thread often to find out whether a new build is being generated.

I can't be the judge of that as I only have access to the D820 model which only supports 3g in Singapore. I recommend trying out with MultiROM first and you can have a feel of the experience

Yes it is stable. I only noticed the Bug where in the Data Switching Menu (3g/lte/2g Menu in settings), the option icon isn't shown but when clicking on let's say 3g only and closing and opening the menu again, it reappears. I've went to investigate and this is a PA issue.
Thanks hopefully I see this in action great hard work I be waiting on the new build I can say nexus 5 is the beast

There has been barely any support for this ROM by the community and as such, I will be discontinuing this ROM. I'm sorry for those who are interested but since people are more interested in other roms, I don't see the point in putting effort and time to something people won't use. You guys will have to wait for the official AOSPA roms then.
Thank you

I recently started doing unofficial builds of Dirty Unicorns straight from the repository.
I did this because Team DIRT, the creators of Dirty Unicorns, are only releasing builds which are considered stable.
Now, I like having the latest and greatest available so I fired up an installation of Arch Linux and began building from their source.
I then figured that other people might have the same need for the latest code as I do, so why not share the builds?
I intend on updating this thread with new builds when Team DIRT commit features which are relevant for Nexus 5.
The changelog below will contain the time at which the repo was synced and additional cherry-picks, if any, will be mentioned as well.
The important thing about my builds is that they are unofficial which means there is absolutely no support, not from me and especially not from Team DIRT themselves.
You can use this thread to discuss my builds and provide each other with help and suggestions but as my disclaimer mentions below; do not report bugs to Team DIRT.
These builds are unofficial and are not supported by Team DIRT.
I compile these builds solely for the purpose of having the latest code available from the repositories.
Because of this you might experience unstable builds and possibly data loss. Remember to backup your data accordingly before using any of these builds!
If something breaks I am not inclined to help in any way and you can not report bugs to Team DIRT!
As a general overview of features in the ROM you can have a look at the entry for the official build.
Notice the date of the official build. My unofficial builds will have all the features present in the official ROM including every commit and cherry-picks between the official and time of my repo sync.
Cherry-picks, if any, will be mentioned in the changelog.
Repository was synced at ~12:45 CET | 13/07/2014 thus all merges up until that point are included.

- Make sure you have a custom recovery installed.
- Download and move the ROM along with the optional Google apps and custom kernel to your device.
- Reboot into recovery.
- Wipe everything except internal/external storage such as /sdcard.
- Flash the unofficial build of Dirty Unicorns.
- (Optional) Flash Google Apps.
- (Optional) Flash custom kernel.
- Reboot.
This build is considered highly experimental.
It is built completely with the Linaro 4.8 toolchain and JustArchi's optimizations.

Can we expect the Aokp or Slim navigation-bar customization instead ? (more features)

I'd like to see more button-options myself, like a notification-pulldown for example.
But as I say in my original post these are unofficial builds. I am not afilliated with Team DIRT so I have no idea what they plan to include in their rom.
I build and share them, that's about it

Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included. Flash the gapps of your choosing after you flash rom. If you need help finding a gapps package, ask any of us and we'll be happy to help
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST 5.1.X COMPATIBLE RECOVERY.
Detailed instructions:
Going to EOS 5.1.X from another rom:
Boot to recovery
BACKUP YOUR CURRENT SETUP!!!
Make a full wipe (Dalvik, Dalvik Cache, System, Data
Flash the rom
Flash optional kernel if you choose to not use provided kernel **We DO NOT support outside kernels**
Flash gapps
Reboot
Updating from an older EOS build to new EOS build:
You can usually skip the full wipe step and just wipe both Dalvik. If ever you encounter an issue make sure you make a full wipe first before reporting it. This is what most call "Dirty Flashing". Normally this doesn't cause problems, but keep in mind a clean flash is always the best way to go.
M8 comes with Xboxfanj's eXcaliBur kernel, which is found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755044

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM dev that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't (or don't want), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Octo-Kat
ADB Logcat tutorial here: How to create a logcat log
Bugs:
Let us know if you run into bugs. Get Syslog from the Android Market, if you don't already have it. No logs and we can only try to recreate the event off of vague descriptions. Please also include what you were doing when it FCed or failed. Logs can be emailed to: [email protected]
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Three-Finger or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
Flash ROM and GApps .zip files
Reboot
A Note about the Team OctOs GApps
We in Team OctOs believe in choices. We believe in leaving the fundamental decisions about your phone to you.
In that spirit, Team OctOs gives you options for your GApps experiences. While any GApps package should work, we offer you the choice of using some of the same GApps packages that we use ourselves, and leave the choice up to you.

You, and anyone else, are more than welcome to create another thread and post whatever you want as far as Octo-Kat goes. The source is public for this reason.
However...
You will need to take it outside of Original Android Development, and we ask that it CLEARLY distinguishes itself as an Unofficial build. Only because we don't want to field questions or complaints about things we have nothing to do with.
As its covered under GPLv2, any repos you change will need to be publicly available as well. Just so you keep it in mind.
New build is up on site! Changelog to follow. Most noteworthy changes are the addition of archi optimizations . explanation can be found in our gplus community

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 6 (Marshmallow)?
A: Yes, this is Android 6.0
Q: What code is Oct-M based on?
A: Starting with Oct-M, we rebased OctOs back to AOSP code. After a short love affair with AOSP we had to return to CM as a base.
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Those of you who have been here from the beginning know Octos originated as an AOSP based rom. In order to support our legacy "CAF" devices we had to use CM as a base. In the end we were just to short handed to maintain both branches. So we had to return to CM for all devices.
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But XYZ and all the other roms have..
A: ROM developers build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-M.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here: How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favorite gapps package
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Factory Reset from TWRP
Flash ROM and GApps .ZIP files
Reboot
The Oct-M ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /data/dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider
The foundation of the Android OS is the fact that is it open-source. We have all code we use internally in the creation of Oct-M available on our GitHub repositories.
Unless otherwise specified, all Oct-M builds use the device's stock kernel.

Well we were in the final testing phase of a new release and Google went ahead and started releasing 5.1. As a result we are working on incorporating that into our ROM which will take a little more time.

Thank you for the kind words. We are always working on bettering our product. We were all set to release another build with more features but as we were in the final testing phase 5.1 dropped. In addition to that we just rebuilt gerrit from source. As a result our release was delayed. We will get something out to the masses as soon as we can.

You can switch between full featured exodus, pure aosp, or pure cyanogenmod. Awesome feature.
Been waiting for this...
Using Exodus on my N6 since Exodus 5.1.1 came out...
Rock solid Rom...

This rom is great! Runs fast as hell. Any thought about adding rgb control for the built in kernel?
BTW, VINDICATOR kernel (1.1 cm) works wonderfully on this ROM.

AOSP or CAF version?
(Sorry, still not 100% certain when it comes to CM)
I used the cm version, so probably CAF.
Haven't tried the AOSP test on exodus.
