Ok treat me as a complete noob. Got the phone as cheap but soon regretted due to no internal space. seen a couple of things on the net saying there is a custom rom that makes the phone think the sd card is its internal memory but i cant get the rom.
Can any one help?
I do have a kernal as well that is meant to do the same but no idea how to get this on the phone. As far as aware its rooted but thats it, failed to adb load a recovery as it says the partition cannot be flashed.
any help please?

Can you show us a screen shot of your about phone? I'm interested in seeing the version of Android you're running.

OK, perfect...now a screen shot of your internal memory would be helpful...
At this point, I'm going to suggest that you try this app and see if it fixes your issue...

Here you go. It did get as low as 16mb. I have tried a couple folder to SD card apps, they work with some apps but eventually the internal memory still got full, but happy to try anything.
Anyone?

Hey guys, just got an HTC hero. I'm loving it, but I want to know how I can run apps off the SD card. I've tried looking all over this forum, all over the web, but I honesly can't find an easy to do guide without the worry of screwing up my phone.
I rooted my phone with the virgin guide in the other forum, and I downloaded 3.1-update-hero-modacocustomrom-core-signed.zip from one of the guides that I found. I managed to install it, but I still wasn't so sure how to use app2sd, even if it was installed, so I went back to my nand backup and I'm just on my normal rooted HTC Hero again.
Before people get angry for not searching around etc, I have, alot. I'm just a bit cautious doing things when I am like 40% sure I am doing the right thing. Even Haykuro Apps to SD is hard to follow. The only thing I want to do is give my phone more room for apps.
Please help, thank you.

Modaco's ROMs have auto A2SD. All you need to do is to partition your SD card in the correct way. This you can do from the Amon-Ra recovery menu.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124
I tried partitioning the SD card. 32mb for the swap part, and 256mb for the ext2 with the rest of the space going to fat32 for my files and stuff, but when i started attempting to install apps, i saw that the space in my internal storage was going down, and not the space on my memory card. did i do it wrong or something?
i've been trying to find partition guides, but none have helped so i just went with my gut. thanks.

How did you partition the SD-card? It's important to make the FAT partition first.

I tried starting again using this guide (can't post links, will PM)
Still.. when I install applications, the internal memory storage goes down and not my memory card. The only thing I didn't do on that guide was turn ext2 to ext3 on my computer because it didn't work, so I did it in the recovery system on android.
Thanks.

i tried puttying my sd card after i installed rom and other apps. and then thats when i recieved mounting errors and internal sd was unmounted for whatever reason. I dont think this rom has support for external sd card. but just based on my expierence
lol this isnt the only on0e its happen to me on
well what do you have your micro sd formated as. i had fat32 but wasnt working in most roms. so i formated it to ext3 and its worked so far...at least in recognizing it.
Beastly mounted it fine. And so did all of gb roms.
also is there maybe just a way to root tapntap i do like it
i think there is. you might have to set up adb and push stuff over. but not to sure on that. you can always use a custom TNT rom. Its still tnt but much snappier and faster
im running 1.2 branch tapntap and it really fast
Hey everyone
I have recently bought an android tablet with KitKat and 16 GB internal storage.
But there were just 1gb available memory for installing apps and the remaining 11 GB were USB storage.
As I didn.t like this I tried to partition flash memory with mini partition tool wizard home(or sth like that I donno the name exactly).
I have partitioned the flash memory as following: 3gb for internal storage(fat32), remaining memory for USB storage and 8mb as ext2( I completed this after a tutorial).
Everything was done ,I applied and then I reboot my tablet. When I entered link2sd said that cannot detect my partition. When I get to storage information I realized that I still had 1gb internal memory, but 445mb USB storage. I was a bit panicked so I tried to wipe data, but didn't work. When I tried to repartition the flash memory with mini part tool , the computer couldn't connect to my tablet storage.
I have lost my internal memory(most of it) and now I want to recover it as it was stock.
Plsssss help me I have root access and I think there is a way to fix with root explorer but I don't no it so hopefully you guys understand my issue and help me.
Thanks

Are you rooted?
Edit: nvm you are I see.
You have to use an external SD card for link2sd, does not work with internal storage.

Why would you repartition your storage to a windows (fat32) partition? This is a Linux based system running on ext4. You may just have killed that partition without redoing your device from the boot loader up.

You will need some sort of default rim update with the correct partitions. It will wipe your device if you can find one. Which depends on the device. You. At have corrupted it beyond any repair you can do. Check the oem site as you. Ever stated what device it is.

OK don't take this the wrong way but you really seem to have no idea what your doing. No you can not fix a partition issue by replacing some system files. You messed the base system up. I would go to the oem site and forums and see if you can find something that will help you. Basically you will have to flash a rom from the boot loader. This should fix your issue. But with it being a minor brand device you may spend a long time finding it but I wish ukulele luck.

Oem stand for original equipment manufacturer. A google search may find it as I have never even heard let alone seen this device.
Now if/when you get it fixed I would advice you to do your proper research before doing something that could leave your device bricked and void your warranty. Age has nothing to do with it. My sons are the same age and know to spend a few hours or even days researching an issue before trying anything. Flashing your device is not an easy, no risk thing to do. It holds many risks as you have found out. I would read up on Linux a bit

I have found a possible solution to my prblm after few hrs of googling== I found with disk info that I didn't make any partition, their just unmounted. Nows da big question: is it a way to mount them ( I found out that I could merge partition kernel source- or srh like that -)

I've been trying to figure out just how to root this thing. I picked one up on sale, and while limited, it seems alright for the price. That 1GB app install storage partition is super annoying though. I'm willing ti live with it but only if I can root the thing... What method did you use to root it???
I used Kingo root, you have to install the SDK drivers and roots it. I've installed xposed moduals they work fine as well. Where I'm stuck is how to install a custom recovery like cwm or twrp. Any help on this from someone would be appreciated. Not much info for this tablet. On a side note is there any cm ROMs for this tab.
For what it's worth, I was eventually able to root the thing without having to locate a compatible ROM by using a free windows application called MoboGenie .. once the program is installed and loaded on your Windows PC, connect the device via USB, and give it about 5-10 minutes to find and install the driver it needs (MoboGenie did this all automatically, just took a little time). Once it does, it should start populating the screen with details about the connected device. In the Toolbox section (down the left side), there is a "Root" button. Click it and then confirm and it pushes SU onto the device automatically... Takes about 2 minutes. Then you disconnect the device and reboot it... After that, it's persistently rooted! You can even unroot by following the same steps in MoboGenie (if you click on "Root" again and confirm, it simply removes the root from the device - too easy!)
I tried it (just for fun) with a Samsung Note 3, but MoboGenie could not root that device, so clearly its powers are limited; however it works perfectly with the Hipstreet Phoenix, so I'm happy

Oh and to help conserve precious app data space, I found that, after rooting, the Lucky Patcher app does a seamless job of moving app data "to sd card" which basically results in moving the data to the larger partition. You can do this as a batch action in Lucky Patcher, or one by one.
One note though - I foolishly bought a 32GB microSD card to leave in the tablet full time, but the tablet unmounts the damn thing pretty much any time it's put on standby, and you have to deliberately tell it to mount the card every time you want to use it. This means it's hopeless for putting app data onto a microSD card on these tablets... which sucks, but oh well.
Next time, I'm buying a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet... they're by far the best tablets (and phones) on the market, and though they're not cheap, you definitely get what you pay for!

That's why I ended up using Mobogenie -- couldn't find a ROM that worked with it.
On a side note, the first Phoenix tablet I had, after rooting with Mobogenie, I used Android Tuner and applied the Partition Trim function.. it seemed to work until I rebooted the device and it went into an infinite boot loop. Seems the device is REALLY easy to corrupt, and the trim effectively bricked it. I contacted Hipstreet and got them to replace it under warrantee (cost me nothing, too). Just if you DO go that route, don't mention what you did, just tell them it bricked itself.

Ok
1st off I just bought my 1st tablet and it was this one. I instantly fell in love with it thinking I had found some great deal. Then after having it for about a week I started getting the insufficient storage message. I was about to return it when I found this thread. I used mobogenie to root it. THIS WAS SO EASY especially since I'm a noob. I installed lucky patcher from google play store but it didnt give me the option to move to sd card. So I used Link2SD. Which works fine on all the apps I have downloaded but not the apps native to the OS.
So my questions are
How do I get rid of the apps native to the OS? And/or move them to the external SD which the device calls NAND flash.
Even with moving the apps to SD which is the partitioned storage space(NAND Flash) I can only download apps to the limited internal storage before I can then move them using LinkSD. So say I want to download hearthstone which is 707 mb, and too large for the internal storage space. Is there a way to download it to the NAND Falsh section directly?
I also bought a external 64GB sd card cause one of my friends said that would fix the problem. How do I download a large game directly to that with this Tablet?
Am I asking too much of this tablet? Should I just keep it for a bit to get used to tablets then upgrade to a more expensive monster in a few months? Im having so much fun so far messing with it I kind of just it to be my Frankenstein and play with it till it breaks......errr I mean Bricks.
Please help me get my nerd on,
Im officially a enthusiast

I use TitaniumBackup with my rooted device. It makes freezing, detaching from market (so they won't update themelves), and removing system apps really easy.

I have found no ways to re-allocate the app space partition and yeah, large apps are never going to install, but smaller apps seem to work as long as we move to SD immediately after any installs or updates.

You cannot. I did the same thing, but I find you have to MANUALLY mount the SD card every time you want to access it - as soon as you put it to sleep, it unmounts the damn external card. This makes it USELESS for app installs... just data like videos, music, etc... even then, it's a pain.

You're lucky then I contacted support through that lame-ass support app that only sometimes connects to their system, and was told point-blank that there is no way to re-allocate the install space (the 1gb area) to make more basic room.
In the end, I disabled all automatic Play updating for all apps (I check and apply them manually instead, as it eats precious install space.) I use LuckyPatcher for moving all app to SD one installed, and TitaniumBackup to remove unnecessary pre-installed stuff. Bummer is, no big games, ever..
Hello all.
I am having the same issues.
I have a 16GB Phoenix Hipstreet, stuck in a boot loop.
I can't load TWRP or anything else, as I am a novice user..
However, that program MOBOGENIE sounds like what I need, however after searching everywhere, I can't find a trust worthy looking source to download, as many have been de-listed due to not being supported or something anymore.
This sounds like it would fix my problems in a heart beat.
Does any one have access to an installer?
I've tried all I can think of.
Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of a virus doing that, particularly on Android at that. The only way I can think of that would get you some results is to factory reset and see if the issues persist, or if you're rooted install another rom and see. These are the only ways in can think of to narrow it down.

It also happens when you have a cracked version of an app and you try to install another app from the same developer and thus the developer blocks the installation of it's other apps

Do a clean ROM flash with nano gapps. If the problem still exist tell me which ROM you are on.

I had previously, some time ago switched my external sd card to shared internal storage (VERY bad- dont do this, expandable memory like an sdhc card is NOT made for a lot of read/writes and it will ruin it). So if the internal memory under under settings->memory reads 'shared' FORGET the external memory card....this resulted in my internal sd card being read properly, not being read as USB mounted and a plethora of ****ty problems
EXTREMELY poor design by google that the internal 'shared memory' ghosted over from rom to rom even!
Will robustly test this over the next few days and get back
