So I flashed some ROM and it gave me IMEI problems. So I restored my backup of previous Baralajbi ROM that I have been using for months. BUt I saw it was giving no network. So I checked IMEI and found it saying Invalid for both (dual sim)! I had backed up the IMEI using MobileUncle Tools and still have the "imei.bak" file on SD card but even using Restore IMEI using SD Card didn't work! I tried evrything!
I tried flashing original stock Kitkat s228 ROW rom (my is ROW version) and then tried restoring, I tried manually changing IMEI using Engineer Mode, I tried everything! I have the backup file, it says Success. Restart now? and then when clicked OK it restarts but still same problem occurs!!
PLEASE tell me if there is a way to restore my IMEI. I searched evrywhere and I am panicking since this is the only fone i have!!! Have i bricked it?:crying::crying::crying:

flash suitable modem or simply push the modem file in root folder and change the permissions.

Hi,check following:
1.Go to device->dev->radio->check 'pttycmd' type of files
2.go to device-data-nvram-md-nvram- find nvd-imei file
I hope one of the above files should be missing.

try backup the imei. maybe perhaps it can find your imei. you can try at any rom or fw as long as it is rooted.:fingers-crossed:

did a factory reset?
Hello. Today I flashed an a110 rom by mistake to my a116. After it being stuck on bootload, I did a factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik from cwm and it gave me my old fly116 rom back. Now I've flashed X-Flare rom, and I've lost my IEMI. The backup taken by mobileuncle doesn't restore it, reflashing new rom doesn't do it, and I've yet to try flashing stock rom (having troubles with that). I've also created a MP0B_001 file and put it to my nvram replacing the old one, but that doesn't work either.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for the replies guys! Earlier Mobileuncle had shown a dialogue box saying that IEMI restore was successful and I had to reboot my phone, but it never did work after rebooting.
Now I have finally got the drivers to work, flashed stock rom using SP tools and used mobileuncle to restore my previously backed up iemi.
So my phone was getting slow and I decided to flash a rom that I used on to it. It's the same Rom I had on it before.
Then I realized I couldn't make any calls, it kept on saying "Not registed on network"
I tried everything I found.
- Tried flashing two modem files on to it
- Tried upgrading to 4.3
- Unroot and Triangle Away to get factory restore using Kies (it restored to 4.3)
- I tried flashing more modem files
Now it's saying No Service "Selected network not available"
What can I really do to get my phone back?

Sounds like you lost your IMEI number, check in system settings if it says 0000.
EFS partition could be corrupt or unreadable.

IMEI number in status is the same as written behind the battery. So that's still in tact
anyone else?

I got the same problem once when i shifted to a new rom. Just search the forums and find a modem that suits your country. I used XXEMG4 modem.
When you find the file, it would be dot rar. Put it in your external Sd card, reboot in recovery and just flash that file.
Since you're on 4.3 then your EFS partition format differs than 4.1.2's EFS partition format, so don't bother flashing a Modem for EFS 1, as 4.3 uses EFS 2 Modems XXEMG4+.
Try to get the latest modem file for your device (Either MK6 or NA8) then get the modem.bin out of the Archive, then flash it to the phone using Odin's CP / Phone button not PDA.

PHONE FIXED!!!
1. I used RASHr from the play store to download CWM touch
2. copied these two files (below) and flashed them using CWM recovery
Rebooted and my phone is back!
Initially, it says no network and you see a signal not available symbol, but after 10 seconds it was alright
In this RAR are the two zip files I flashed:

Flashing this kernel makes my phone stuck in boot loop, and flashing just the modem doesn't solve the network state disconnected
my main problem is my EFS is totally corrupted. i have yellow writing on my ROM which i have read is permanent safe mode and that i need to restore my efs. Sadly i dont think i salvaged enough, i made a EFS backup yesterday (sort of) before i started fiddling around to try and unlock my phone. i have the .img file and .tar file on my PC but i have read you need a gz file?
When making the backup i was on custom 4.3 ROM and im now on stock 4.3 rooted.
UPDATED
i have attempted to restore my efs using a the utility here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/tool-backup-restore-efs-imei-sgsiii-t1901098
however i get this pop up and when i reboot its just stuck on the blue Samsung logo and wont boot into the rom
http://gyazo.com/e0f93bc00b9355d7e58712f5bd162e53
History of my actions
1) had working rom perfect - made efs backup using galaxasim unlock
2) IMEI corrupt from an update
3) did super wipe on phone and installed stock rom using ODIN, after update phone just got stuck on samsung logo
4) flashed this file which got my rom working again but of course i had a corrupt IMEI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJMJLdzHaAY
5) restored EFS and now phone wont get past samsung logo again (tried clearing cache and wipe data, I also get this error when doing a full wipe from phil CWM [formatting /sd-ext unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
any help?

good point
very helpful page here http://zidroid.com/how-to-exit-factory-mode-for-samsung-galaxy-devices/
I've searched on google for solutions as I found the efs file which got corrupted. I've used this thread here trying to solve the issue. This is the thread I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859914 still the imei has not changed. It keeps on showing this IMEI-00499901064**** IMEI SV0*. Is these the what is causing the network not to respond. I have even used google to find solutions but still the imei is not changing. I even installed the modem mg4.tar file through odin and still network won't pickup. I even flashed back to 4.1.2 stock firmware and it didn't fix Imei. The imei was deleted before since it used to restart at the samsung logo then used adb commands to get the efs file remade or so. Now if the network is not picking up is it because of the imei. This is referring to gt-I9300......How can the imei be restored?
had a similar issue yesturday, luckily i took a backup of my efs folder before i started messing around with ROMs
if you dont have a backup its goodnight vienna, you will need to get it serviced

I got the efs files restored but the imei is corrupted. It just keeps on showing IMEI-00499901064**** IMEI SV0* how do I fix the imei, I even used google to search for solutions on how to repair corrupted imei but still the imei is not changing. Is there someone here who knows how to fix corrupted imei which is IMEI-00499901064**** IMEI SV0*. I coul'd send the efs folder and you can see how to solve it and then sent it back to me. If the imei woul'd return to the way it's suppose to be showing.I used this to restore my efs when it was saying it coul'd not mount it.
Restored efs using this guide below which I found on google after searching:
How to fix EFS not mounting :
Download and flash official firmware for your phone
Flash CWM recovery and root your device using recovery method.
Install ADB on your computer.
Boot your device into recovery mode
Connect your device to PC via USB cable
In recovery mode Choose “mount and storage > mount /system”
Open ADB command window and type :
adb shell
su
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
The thing is the imei won't change how to fix this I have flashe stock roms from 4.0.4, 4.1.2 and 4.3 rom still the imei just doesn't change. How to solve this?
