In kitkat, I went to wireless & networks, wi-fi calling settings, and then I could choose "wifi preferred," "wifi only," or "cellular preferred."
Now I upgraded to lollipop, and I can't find anything like that. As far as I can tell now, by enabling wifi calling, all calls are forced to wifi. Is there some way to enable wifi calling but only use it when the cellular network is unavailable?
I figured it out!
Long-press on Wi-Fi Calling, and a new menu appears, that allows you to specify preference

Anyone knows the settings for using WI-FI for downloads at home instead of the cell network?
you simply turn on Wifi, and give it your network password so it can connect, and as long as it is connected to WiFi it should not use the cellular network other than to notify you of texts or incoming calls
wifi calling has been nothing but a head ache for me. if anyone can help me delete it completely from a rom i will be greatful... let me know thanks
Hi,
Not sure about deleting it from ROM but you can uncheck the "Wifi Calling" option under...
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> More Settings -> Uncehck Wifi calling option.
Doing this should not bother you with wi-fi calling anymore.
Regards
WiFi calling may not be enabled by default with your brand new handset.
Settings-> Wireless and networks-> mobile network.
Turn on WiFi calling.
Done.
If WiFi calling is not there.
Install 'My Vodafone' if not already.
Top right corner menu select.
Choose Products and Services.
Manage Bars and Extras.
Calls and options.
Choose WiFi Calling and enable
1. If it is already enabled.
1.1 Turn off WiFi calling
1.2 Close out if app and wait for about 5 mins.
1.3 return to the app and follow procedure to enable WiFi calling above.
Once it is enabled go back to Settings-> Wireless and networks-> mobile network.
Turn on WiFi calling.
Done
Hopefully this helps someone [emoji846]

yeah wifi calling always been a little funny with voda. sometimes toggling things such as wifi calling on and off on the app and website causes some odd tech issues whereby it just doesn't work and you need a staff member using the staff software to finally give it a shove. this never happens with three or EE, just pop in the sim and it works...
True, it worked automatically while I was on Three

So i got my Mi 8 Pro yesterday (Global Version). The one feature I cannot seem to activate is Wifi Calling, I have done both the *#*#86583#*#* (voLTE) and *#*#869434#*#* (voWIFI), both options are enabled in *#*#4636#*#* and when i go into my sim settings both VoLTE and Wifi Calling are enabled
voLTE shows the symbol in my task bar however wifi calling never seems to enable? Is there some other setting I am missing or do I need to get EE to disable and re-enable it on my account since I've swapped phones? It's vital for me as I work in a lot of places without cell reception so i rely on wifi calling.
Any help is appreciated

Hello, my friend is also like you, he is the development version of WiFi can not be used but the stable version of the MIUI system can be used. You can try to re-wire the stable version of the MIUI system, I wish you good luck.
I have no reception at work, so I have another phone (with a different company's sim that does get reception,) set up to be a hotspot for my main phone.
I want to use wifi calling so I can make and receive calls with my own number, but it says "not registered on network" when I try. Wifi calling DOES work on my regular home router so I know that it's the hotspot's fault.
I spoke to my carrier and they said I should make sure certain ports are open through the router - the hotspot phone is rooted if that helps.
