Hello.
I own an e-reader built on an Allwinner A13 platform. The device is a Bookeen Cybook Muse.
I have bricked it, but do not have any flashable ROM. But, instead I got here; this guy managed to create custom rooted ROMs for this kind of ereaders by manipulating the updating package, which is automatically read and applied when the file CybUpdate.bin is detected in the flash memory.

Is there any way to make a ROM suitable to be flashed into the device with livesuit (Allwinner's flashing tool) from the files contained in the update package? (it is simply a gzipped tar) Or can anyone figure out any other way to unbrick it?
Thanks in advance!
Help, please, I need to unbrick this device.

I am new to xda developers community. I bought a brand new HCL ME X1 Android 2.3.3 gracious Gingerbread Tablet.
I rooted my Android 2.3.3 Tablet, and I have installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5. I want to be prepared to flash my own built images via Fastboot. But I do not know how. How to dump Fastboot format ( .img ) images and by using which tools, so that I could use these images to restore/upgrade via Fastboot especially. Currently I am afraid to replace the OS because I do not have enough safe backup images. Please, guide me regarding this serious problem as I want to prepare my Tablet to use both the tools in case of emergency, and I also want to upgrade my 2.3.3 to at least 2.3.6 or even 3.0. Those who would help me, I appreciate in advance. Also please tell me, if nanddump raw nand images can be used to restore my paritions and OS from FastBoot?

Hello,
I've been recently trying to root my Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL) using SP Flash tool,
however, I haven't found the correct scatter file for my device. Does anyone know where
I could find a MT6737 scatter file? Thanks in advance!
Hi. From my experience, correct scatter files that work (not just any random scatter file) reside in a ROM/Firmware zip.
Doing a little searching, I found that you can download stock firmware for you device from Asus officially. They offer them in the support section.
Here is the link: https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ZenFone-3-Max-ZC520TL/HelpDesk_Download/
Should you download the official firmware specific to your device and unzip the file, (in all probability) you will also find the correct scatter file which you are looking for (something like xxxxx_scatter_file.txt).
(also keeping in place a stock rom is never but never a bad idea )
However... You mentioned that you need the scatter file to root??? I have not any idea as to why you would need SP Flash tool for any other reason than flashing stock.
Unless you are flashing full custom rom which cannot be flashed through recovery perhaps?
Anyway... Good luck!!!
Thanks for the quick response!

I needed the Flash tool because I was trying to flash TWRP, and from there install superuser. I did as you said, but when I tried loading the scatter file
the program recognized it as invalid. A huge thanks for the help though!!!

Ok... No worries!! We will probably figure it out in the end.
By the way, I am not sure I understand exactly how you were going to use SP Flashtool to flash TWRP. From my experience it does not work that way. You need platform tools (adb and fastboot).
platform tools here ----> https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools.html
It is with these that you will unlock bootlader, and after bootloader is unlocked, first flash supersu, install busybox and lastly flash twrp.
Please look at my how-to root and twrp section. It is not for your device, but it will give you a good idea of the process: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lenovo-tab-3-8-tb3-850f-unbrick-root-t3598727

Hi, I have a allview viva h1001 LTE, I accidentally bricked my device while trying to install twrp(custom one) and now it's bootlooping, I can't boot into recovery or fastboot mode, I tried using SP Flash Tool, but I need the original stock firmware, can someone help me?
Hi. I am also looking for the firmware for this device. There is one firmware that I tried to fill, but it does not have a native scatter and I put it together as best I could. The tablet is boot to recovery but the system does not boot. If you have the opportunity to load the scatter from your original device, then there is a chance that we will defeat this device.
If it's still relevant, then I attach a recovery from a tablet that goes into recovery. I considered the entire dump if someone can see its integrity. Here is full flash read with EFT from other tablet who too restart.
Hi. I wrote down the firmware merged with the EFT, then I downloaded the image from allview p6 pro and using CM2MTK I filled in only the system. The tablet started up but without navigation buttons, with kingorut I made a root, and installed a buildpropeditor. At the end of the build.prop added the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 . After the reboot, the buttons appeared. I went into the update and saw the opportunity to install the update over the air but for p6 pro. Can someone tell me where to edit so that the device thinks that it is not p6 about but Viva H1001 LTE ? Thus, download the original update and make the original firmware. Thank you.
I atach build.prop for H1001 and P6_PRO
I am new here, so uh... hi!
I'm looking for the boot.img for my *unrooted* Acer A3-A30.
My recovery mode has some firmware version at the top that reads "Acer_AV0l0_A3-A30_1.132.00_WW_CUS1", so I'll need something like that.
I'm trying to use Magisk to root so that's why I need boot.img
Can someone help me get it?
Hello everyone!
I have an old 7" allwinner a33 tablet running on android 5.1. I was looking for ways to get root access on it.
So I've found a root method on recovery (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/a-pain-to-root-cheap-allwinner-a33-tablet-please-help-me.3564543/), it was flashable but the su binary wont let me update.
I think the reason is that it was intended for an older version of android.
Also I've found an universal android 5.1(https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-root-android-5-1-lollipop.3064642/) root for custom recovery, but doesn't run because my recovery is stock.
My goal is to replace old files from Update.zip to newer files from UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.45.zip.
Most likely I will need to rewrite updater-script from Update.zip too.
Any advice is welcome.
P.S Signing an archive is not a problem for me, I've already successfully modified an updater-script in Update.zip to remove bloatware.
