dell venue 7 3730 bricked? - Dell Venue

i tried to upgrade the system to 4.4.2 by using the fastboot, but after reboot, the tablet stopped with a sign of usb (after the appearance of DELL slogan), and the system shut down automatically. I can still used the Droidboot. What's wrong? Will somebody help me? Many thanks!

[Q] No fastboot, No recovery, Stuck at dell logo.

Well as all the other cases i have also in my hands a Dell Streak 5 which got stuck on the logo screen and i have been fighting for weeks to recover it without any success. My father tried to update it to the latest version and he messed up with everything.. Unfortunately, i dont know the exact steps he took as he can not remember.
First of all i will describe my current situation and i will describe all the steps that i have taken until now..
1. Dell recovery can not be accessed by pressing (Volume +,Volume - and On/Off)
2. Dell fastboot can not be accessed by pressing (On/Off Camera button)
3. Dell download mode works fine by pressing (Volume + when connecting device with usb.)
4. The Qualcom drivers are successfully installed.
5. Dell successfully passes streakflash.
6. Dell fails in the end of the QDL tool with error
Wait for ADB device" error [D2]:wait ADB fastboot mode timeout! (black screen on Streak)

What i have done so far to resolve my issue.
I have followed this quide and numerous others that are alterations of the below guide.
Firstly after the download, you have to get the drivers (guess the problem is only with Win7 64 bit OS) in place.
The same link above has the links on tutorials to install QDL tool drivers for Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9002.
After this...
1) Run streakflash version from the streakflash.zip(after extraction though).
2) Boot into diagnostic mode (Vol Up + Power button) and connect the USB cable to the computer. 'Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9002' will show in the port field in streakflash QDL tool.
3) Hit the run button. The process should stop at success.
4) Disconnect USB cable and close streakflash QDL tool.
5) Now run the QDL tool that came in repairtool.zip (after extraction though).
6) Boot the Streak into diagnostic mode (Vol Up + Power button) and connect the USB cable to the computer. 'Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9002' will show in the port field in QDL tool.
7) Hit the run button. The process should stop at success. If not, dont forget try again and again. Make sure you change USB ports (to which you are connecting ur streak) on ur system too.

I have tried all the fastboot drivers that are provided by Dell from their website and the drivers that come with repair tool and streakflash. My issue here is that although i installed the drivers in the computer i dont have a way to match the drivers with my Dell as long as it is not possible to enter in fastboot mode. The only thing i did is to plug in my HTC Desire and when it asks for the driver i provided the drivers for the Dell in order to be able to find them later. I dont know if this is even possible but i tried it. Another thing i did is to add legacy hardware in the windows devices and i added the Android Adb Interface, Android Bootloadern Android Composite ADB interface but this did not work as well..
Last but not least i tried 2 different ports of my laptop. The first one stucks at Run Hex Success and the second arrives to the point i described previously. The operating system is OSX and i am running Windows 7 32bit in a virtual host and i tried the same in a normal Windows 7 installation. Both give the same results.
Finally i tried 2 different internal sd cards, the 1st one is the one coming from dell(2GB) and the second one is a 4GB that it was being used as external. Both gave me the same errors.
I have search in all the XDA forum, modaco, pocketables but i did not encounter a similar situation.
Please, if anyone has any clue what could be wrong and i can not overcome the above error please share with me.
Best Regards
Same problem
I have the same problem. The phone just won`t go in fastboot mode after streakflash, it`s just the same. I try to find another version of streakflash qdl but i can`t find it.
QDL won`t work because the phone won`t go in fastboot (wait for adb- error), so i think the problem is streakflash.
Maybe someone can help us:crying:

Same issue since months. No fastboot on my streak. Tried QDL, nothing. anyone has the QDL repair tool?

I have finally found a working QDl repair tool.
This should help most of us

Good luck
I'm amazed how many people still try to root the Streak using one-click root tools. They're not recommended, mainly because of the results shown in this thread. They're also unnecessary, as the Streak is arguably the easiest device to root so long as you immediately boot into the recovery after installing it.

You need to flash the firmware first using the xftsk and isoc. This will unlock the bootloader to boot an unsigned boot.img. Follow the instructions provided in "Dell Tablet Install Instructions.docx" and you will be able to revive the system.
No luck

Well, windows can't detect my tablet anymore. Neither adb devices or fastboot devices show anything. Also, under device manager, my tablet shows as CLOVERVIEW. If I reboot in bootloader, it shows as Android-Phone. I tried updating my drivers again, but that didn't work either.

New instructions are updated in the dell website. I am assuming that your tablet is still in a bricked state. In order to revive the tablet,
a) make sure you install the xftsk and isoc drivers on your windows machine.
b) unplug usb cable of device from the computer.
c) unzip the downloaded files and run the setup_part1_xfstk.bat.
d) now plug in the usb cable from tablet into your computer.
This will flash the firmware on the device and you will get into fastboot mode. IN case the tablet does not get flashed repeat steps b, c and d.
From the fastboot window go to reboot and likely the tablet will boot up. Let us know how it went. If you get stuck then post the screen shot of where you got stuck and will try to help.
Thanks, still no luck

Thanks, but xfstk cannot find my device anymore. I can still get into fastboot and push the img files. Please see attached screenshots.
Dell Venue 8 successfully rooted!
I spoke with social-design-concepts and he helped solve my problem. It turns out my xfstk version (1.0.2) was incorrect, he sent the right one and I was able to unlock the bootloader and flash my tablet. It's rooted and working fine now.
Attached is the xfstk version used by social-design-concepts.

The correct version of xfstk is now part of the updated zip package on dell website. It was inadvertently left out of the package. GLad to see that you are now rooted. Also note that the kernel sources are posted and you can build your own kernel and flash it since this process unlocked the bootloader also.

I'm having a hell of a time with this.
The version included in the Dell package is 1.0.3
However you are saying I need to use 1.0.2 ?
I am having no luck, every time it will not detect my device.
Also the other issue is that the included xFSTK-downloader-setup-1.4.2 will not work. Both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 say its invalid and will not install it. So I found a version of xfstk-dldr-solo.exe from the internet to use.
So my issue is either the wrong iSOC drivers or the wrong xFSTK version or both.
Either way, the provided Dell instructions do not work.
Any ideas?

First of all, Dell's instructions didn't work for me either, so I used the version from social-design-concepts, who also packed in supeSU in the system image. He's zipped the modified files and you can find it here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...40&postcount=2
Once you download that version, you can proceed with these steps.
1) Flash the tablet (i.e. run step2.bat) first. This will soft brick your tablet (you'll see a USB icon as attached in my previous post), but don't panic.
2) Next, unplug your tablet from your machine, uninstall all versions of xfstk-iSoc drivers and install the one attached in my post. Once done, you'll see Cloverview Plus Device under iSoc Intel Driver in your Device Manager.
3) Unplug the tablet if it's already connected to your pc, run step1.bat, plug your tablet back in to your pc and your tablet's bootloader will be unlocked.
4) Reboot your tablet in bootloader (Hold down power and volume down) and run step2.bat
This will root your tablet and install android 4.3.
I've tested this on two Dell Venue 8 tablets running 4.2.2 and it worked like a charm.

Right, so at some point tonight I've gone and screwed up, and now i'm stuck. I've followed the instructions here, but I keep encountering the same error I was earlier.
This is right after the firmware download, the device is showing a usb symbol. Everytime I try to run step1_setup_xfstk this happens. A bit after that's shut down, my device goes to an Intel Inside screen until I shut it down. Can anybody tell me where I went wrong and how to fix it?

Dell Venue 8 3840
I have the Dell Venue 8 3840 and I am trying to follow Dells instructions based on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/dell-venue/development/guide-how-to-root-android-4-4-4-dell-t2918427
I can see my device in ADB or Fastboot depending on how I boot but after clicking Begin Download in xFSTK_downloader_1.5.1 nothing happens. The instructions in the thread and "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51090040&postcount=2" are for the 3840; I do not think they will work for the 3840, I am correct?, and do you have any ideas on how to get my 3840 to root? In the post referenced above How to root Android 4.4.4 on the Dell Venue 3840 (Merrifield) Tablet is says to try this
Note on XFSTK: if you have trouble getting XFSTK to download properly, try:
Turn off the device (hold power button for 10 seconds.)
Press the Start Download button in XFSTK.
With USB cable connected, turn tablet on with Power + Volume Up.
When I do this Power+Volume Up the device will not power on.
Thanks for any help Mike

[Q] LG G2 4.4.2 Boot issue

Hi,
I just did a system update on my phone this weekend and found that after the update the phone will not boot, I have tried everything to get it to boot but it just won't boot, I have also attempted to plug it into my computer to re-install the OS but the computer won't recognize it as it doesn't fully load the OS.
If anyone knows how to fix this issue please let me know.
You've already reset the phone? How did you update? OTA? Which version of the G2 is it? For the PC, you probably don't have the correct drivers or it's not in the correct mode for the drivers to load.

Dell Venue 7 3730 won't boot.

Hi, some days ago mi tablet a Venue 7 3730, won't boot so i started searching on solutions, i already wiped/ factory reset and it did nothing, then i found, there was already Stock ROMs for flashing, so i started to gather the files, but at some point i cannot get the driver, for getting it recognized, i already booted up in fastboot, and i in my device manager i just see as android phone, i have already installed the intel drivers for tablets and also iSoc ones, but they still doesn't recognize fastboot, so there's any way to make it get recognized in fastboot, i just need that after that i can flash the rom, and repair it.
Thanks for reading, and hoping for some help.

Dell Venue 8 7840 No Fastbbot

My Dell Venue 7840 can't boot into fastboot mode? When I try to boot into fastboot, the screen only shows a battery logo with a question mark inside. I saw that there's a fix for this problem on Intel processor devices like the Zenfone and Del Venue 8 3840 using xFSTK Downloader. But that requires dnx_PRQ.bin and droidboot.img.POS.bin, which I don't Dell ever released. Any solved this problem before?
